Sometimes I suspect that you might be Kubo in disguise.
And I have to remind myself that; "no, chuck...this isn't all canon. Some of it is made up."

...would be cool if it were though. Canon, I mean.
Would explain a lot about Isshin.
But then again...that might be a bit to serious.

I liked this chapter, even if it did show Isshin in a more...unkind light.
He is still one of mah favourite ppl! Booyeah!

I would like to request a story from you if I could. It's not really a pairing though, so much as something
that I want to have happen in the manga. I know it kind of contradicts the chapter that you just wrote,
but I digress. I would love it if you would write about Isshin coming to the rescue just when Ichigo needs
it most. For example, remember when Ichigo was fighting a losing battle with Nnoitra? And just as he's
about to strike the finishing blow, Kenpachi shows up and blocks his blade? I so wanted that to be Isshin.
So if you could write a story about Isshin coming to the rescue, that would be awesome. But, if that's
not your cup of tea, then I would like a Gin fic, something happy and funny. Gin is my favorite character
and I hate seeing so many sad stories with him. Don't get me wrong, I like angst as much as the next
person but sometimes I just want something to make my heart happy, y'know? That's why I love
"Minutes to Midnight" so much! I read that religiously.

Anyway, I really love your writing. In fact, I'm on chapter 12 in "Of Violence" right now, and I've already
polished off "Misguided Manipulation", most of your one-shots, and what you have out of "Minutes to Midnight"
and "Seireitei Monogatari". I've always loved your works, and I've wanted to request a story for awhile now,
but I guess I was just too shy, lol. Anyway, enough cheese. I hope to read some more of your works soon!

there is very little explanatory activity on Isshin's part so far...I really hope Kubo starts explaining/hinting about Isshin's past soon

one of my theories is that he was the former captain of the zero squad (king's squad) before he left soul society.
the pendulum chapters only spurred my suspicions further on XD

their additude is very close to this. Iishin in this is so so so close to the original that it is scary!

anyways.....you get them. you know how to get in their head and pull them out.

I think Issin loves him too. Isshin seems like the kind of parent to let a kid learn from his own mistakes, though.

I'm back again with more stalkery love. As promised, I have been keeping up with these little stories and loving every second of it. :)

This last piece really struck home with my views of Isshin. I (much like you, actually) have a tendency to speculate on things that no one else really bothers to and this is one that has bugged me for quite a while. You portrayed Isshin (how I imagine him, at least) flawlessly and I couldn't be more pleased with how this one turned out. I believe there is alot more depth to Isshin than the series has let on so far and I was eagerly waiting on someone elses opinion on exactly -why- Isshin never bothered to help his son or explain anything (just to compare ideas, really), but it never came. No one seemed to notice his complete dismissal of his son's shinigami life. But you have! =DDD And with a theory much similar to my own! I FREAKING LOVE YOU.

Yay. :D Thank you x45353 for being such a wonderful and speculative author. It has really made my day. And now I don't feel so insane for thinking that Isshin may have a darker side. >.> People usually stare at me like I've sprouted a second head if I even begin to suggest that Isshin might be the teeniest bit bitter. *huff*

Hmm...an interesting speculation. And it does kind of make sence in a dark and very sad way. Hmmmmmm makes me want to speculate more on the matter, haha.
