Poor Gwydion! :( That's pretty much all I can say about that...except yeaaaaaaaah we're getting into the romance! Hahaha.
Haha, I was excited to see you've come up with a villian. This should be interesting, I'm really excited!
And thanks for the shout-out! :D

Chapter 4 was impeccable, and the villain seems interesting. Hope the next update will come soon!

Awesome chapter.
It's nice to see Soi Fon's character portrayed this way. I think it suits her better.
More was learned on his past and what happened to him, so you answered my questions in that regard.
I also really enjoyed his Zanpaktou. That is just a brilliant idea (reminds me of Haruna Saotome's artifact in Magister Negi Magi) and I hope to see more of its power.
Also....villain!!! From what I can gather, at the end of "A New Window" Mayuri showcases his latest project to the group (and dies). It appears that this villain is one of his "prototypes" that he cast aside while developing his latest tech. It seems he had been abducting various Shinigami from the real world and using them, along with hollows/arrancar taken from Hueco Mundo and made these Frankenstein-ish monsters. Am I close?

I absolutely love your stories. You bring OC to life so well. THough i was disappointed that Byakuya would not have a full story all his own I am pleased that you are continuing in this particular universe. This story is starting off to a wonderful start but i should have known coming from you.

Ach! Cliffhangers! Love the characterization you've got going, as usual, both in new and old characters. I can't help but feel that, now that the whole situation is much more comfortably in the realm of her specialty (the more shady stuff), Soi-Fong will find herself caught up with Gwydion a lot more than she might think she's comfortable with...can't wait to see more.

Hmmmm... So he was attacked for possessing a zanpakuto with an unusual power.
Y'know, though I haven't ever managed to sit down and read the Turn Back the Pendulum miniseries, I suddenly understand why Aizen would keep his abilities secret. Able to effectively control everyone around him, Matrix-style, by altering their perception? Can you say, MASSIVE THREAT-DOWN, because I just did. He'd have gone to the Nest so fast, his feet wouldn't even have touched the ground.
Plus, I'm glad to see Nemu has recovered. I really like her character (artificial humans all the way baby!) and was almost worried we'd go into a Alucard-esque "How could I kill the diseased, homicidal maniac who just happened to be my father" moment, but given my taste of your considerable skill, I needn't have worried.
Now, honest criticism time.
I usually don't like Central Forty-Six bashing, due to its uncomfortable similarities to government conspiracy tales, but that's just personal preference. Plus, it seems a bit much to me that Gwydion is a painter and a musician *and* a poet, but hey, it happens (Goethe for example). Finally (pure internal logic here), why was he allowed to remain a Soul Reaper if he was... disarmed by the higher-ups? How could the hideously botched attempt to assassinate him possibly be made to resemble an attack by a non-Soul Reaper-affiliated force in a one-nation world where the Soul Reapers effectively *are* the military?
Wait... Those are probably questions that will be answered later. Sorry... really... You asked me not to apologize...

The character development is coming along nice and there are some big questions raised in this chapter. You've set it up very well to keep the characters (and readers) interested and intrigued to see what comes next (and what happened in the past).
I also loved the training with Tatsuki. It's clear that both Ichigo and Tatsuki know him on a more personal level than originally thought. Though it wasn't hinted at at first, it seems that several members at the party knew him when he showed up and probably are also interested in why Soi Fon went with him.
I am eagerly looking forward to the upcoming chapters, you've got another great character here and I can't wait to see what you do with him.
Also, I am pretty sure it's "Soi Fon". I have seen her name as "Soi Fong" in several places but every "official" place it's listed as Soi Fon. Not sure if that is the English Translators mistake or what. It might not even be important...

Ooooh, the plot thickens! I want to know what happened to him!
By the way, the tentative Soi Fong/Nemu friendship is too cute!

Haha, wouldn't you know it - I should be studying when I happen upon this chapter!
Confused/nervous Soi Fong is quite fun to read, albeit a bit surreal. However, we all know a lot of her toughness is simply a facade, so I guess it works! I apologize for the disjointedness of my thoughts - it's late and I've been studying.
What really interests me about this story as opposed to your others is the basis of a relationship that you have to lay down here. Ichigo and Tatsuki and Kin and Kaien already had a long history and a long connection - Soi Fong and Gwydion have no such thing. It will truly be fun to see this relationship blossom from the very beginning.

Poor Gwydion... but on the bright side, he could probably arm-wrestle Kuukaku! Hee-hee! Hope y-all's can update again soon.
