I recently came across your story and have read it in a marathon over the last few days. It's so rare to find a well thought out and executed story and this is certainly one of the best ones I've read. You have some really unique plot/subplots here and it's a joy to read!

I love the idea of Grimmjow/Karin especially as the initial interest came from his tunnel visioned pursuit of Ichigo. Ulquiorra and Orihime is just beautiful and I love the gradual thaw of his emotionless behavior to acceptance of love on both their parts. Although you say you have trouble writing them - I don't see it. You captured them both quite well and they're not out of character at all. They seem faithful to their portrayal in the manga/anime and yet you've managed to evolve them into more mature versions of themselves. As they discover new ways of viewing their realities we get to tag along and you've taken us on a fantastic journey. You have great insight!

Tatsuki and Tersa is just GORGEOUS. I was so sad when Tersa was cut down - it was so unjust! He's loyal, earnest, devoted, etc. I think it's fantastic that you allowed him to translate all of his wonderful qualities to a healthy relationship as opposed to worshiping Nnoitra. Although the back-story you created for him was genius and actually made me like Nnoitra just a wee bit!

I think the Byakuya/Yammy pairing actually makes sense although it is definitely aggravating since it inspires sheer loathing of Yammy (not that much encouragement is needed). It's completely in Byakuya's nature to suffer in silence and endure what would be unbearable for most for the sake of pride and honor. If there's a chance he could live to see soul society restored it makes sense that he would tolerate submission for the chance at restoring seireitei. Ukitake's tenderness with Byakuya when discovering the bruises was just heart rending. They've known each other for so long; the deep concern Ukitake has for him is incredibly touching and you artfully displayed it without going overboard with sappiness or pity.
Given Byakuya's status as a noble and pure soul I am surprised Aizen has not attempted something (forced relations?) with he and Unohana since Aizen/Unohana is failing to produce offspring.

At first I was sad Ukitake and Starrk weren't getting together. I read an Ukitake/Shunsui/Starrk recently and it was masterful so I was coming off that and swayed in that direction. The relationship these two have in your story however really encapsulates what Shunsui's (sniffle/sob) dying request was all about. Starrk has almost become the sort of companion that Shunsui was and it (and the rest of Starrk's household) keep Starrk from loneliness and Ukitake from "following Shunsui." I loved how Starrk always asks for his consent and that Ukitake doesn't blame him for Shunsui's death. I am hoping Aizen will rethink his decision even further - he did resore Gin's hand afterall. He could reward Starrk and just give back the sight with the excuse that his eyes are necessary to remaining useful without losing face as Kami.

Since he's not mentioned much - and I know he had to be used as a plot-device a lot by Kubo, hence the seeming weakness - any chance of some Renji restoration? Despite all you've done with our pink haired scientist Renji is still zanpaktou zombified. He's been scarred mentally and physically, poor thing deserves some compensation. It was heartbreaking when Byakuya realized Renji didn't receive his katana at the ceremony. Kubo has played "kick the Renji" enough, so hopefully you're planning some grand scale redemption?

I was really hoping when the Kurosaki line was given the royal blood twist, you'd be taking it in the direction of Ichigo or Isshin (unless you've killed him here) sitting on the throne. Perhaps Retsu or Yoruichi? I am assuming whoever assumes the throne stays separate from the seireitei and it would be a shame for Karin and Grimmjow to have to leave Starrk's. Unless you're setting up Grimmjow's lack of territory to be so he can eventually claim the heavens with mate and child?

I'm also surprised Aizen hasn't put more into pursuing Ichigo and Yoruichi. Even without (sniffle) Kisuke being around the two are potentially his undoing left unmonitored. Unless you're going the route that it's up to Karin to nearly single-handedly save soul society with some help from mate and child. I get that she's strong and has the Kurosaki drive to protect all and sundry - but at times she's seemed just a little too perfect, e.g., she has the first hybrid child, she tells off Ulquiorra, she befriends/masters Szayel, she has the strongest royal blood, she is able to claim, she becomes fukutaichou and then stand-in taichou, she (although awesome) beats on Yammy, etc.

The story is great, it's just that the underlying "help us Karin, you're our only hope" is a bit off-putting because it seems to overshadow what is otherwise a beautifully well-balanced story.

Kill it and allow it the honor of a swift death. Sorry I was missing last chap. Places to go people to see and all that jazz. Sniff sniff, now you have Jushiro getting the short end of the stick. He really needs a woman in his life, even it only to be a helper when he recovers. Another thing that keeps me going is the gleeful thought that reminds me, Karma is above all things a bitch. Oooh that boomerang going to come back with a vengeance. Well till next review!

Phew! I admit that I was holding my breath a lot while reading this chapter. Little Hana did well. So did Szayel. I was shaking in my boots. Like so many people, Gin has a lot of regrets. I am glad to see that Aizen is starting to realize that he might not have as much control over everyone as he had believed. I love this story so much that I do not want to see it end, however, I cannot wait until Aizen gets his. Yammy too!

It's been a few weeks since I've had the time to catch up with the story. Gah, you had me weeping! Juu is my absolute favorite and to see him maimed in black and white, as it were, gave me a sick stomach. Anyway, gorgeous entries and I can't wait for more updates. As for the baby kicking your insides apart, when it gets late in your pregnancy, and he can't do that any more, you'll miss it! LOL I hope you can experience baby hiccoughs with your man. That is the cutest thing I ever got to see them do when I was pregnant. Enough of that sentimental stuff. This weeks question: suffer though filler? If it doesn't suck. I truly liked the zampatou filler. But I am sad to see it end instead, I wished to see a colored up Grimmjow (since I am convinced he'll be back). Finally, I hope you feel better soon! :)

Great chapter and I can't wait to see what Stark and Grimmjow have been talking about. Poor Jushiro! I have to give credit though Aizen did a fine job. Karin is going to need to watch herself soon. I can't wait for the next chapter!

I've seen all the seasons and I'm waiting for updates every week. I'm in love with the anime and I never found an episode to be annoying or boring. I hope it will remain as awesome as it is. XD

Aww - Poor Juu!!! The girls are very sweet. :).

Love this chapter!

And yep - I think it would be a shame if they had small bit of final arc then filler, small bit of final arc then more filler. It would be a shame to break such a great story line up. Random episodes like New Year's specials I don't mind, and the majority of the fillers on their own I don't mind, but to break the arc up with entire seasons of filler would be a shame.

Thanks for writing/posting!!! Tis very enjoyable! I would have loved to see Starrk confronting Aizen - I assume we'll at least get details in later chapters? Thanks again!!!

poor juu, too bad he's the sacrificial lamb to aizen's pissed-off-ness. glad it at least works as a catalyst, as i'm guessing the chap's news of the extra viciousness of nightmares will be as well. my fear is that to get ulqui involved in revolt, you will do something awful to orihime or the baby--so hope i'm wrong. hopefully it will be nothing more than the threat of some plan for kid when he's grown that is ulqui's catalyst rather than actual harm to any of them.

stopped watching anime during fight over karakura. got so very bored w/it dragging out (in manga too, actually).

There comes a time that people can only take so much. Gosh if blinding Jushiro was not enough he used Kyouka Suigetsu on him. Love to know what Stark is up to now. Can’t wait for the next chapter – seems that it will be an interesting one as how Aizen views things.

I am not a fan of the filler so am am glad about the Anime stopping for now. I do believe as soon as the Manga has caught up they will have a final season in the future. Can only hope. I think they lost a lot of viewers because of the dreadful fillers.

Take care.

Aizen's slowly alienating his Espada. :-/. Oh dear. Poor Juushirou!!! As cruel as it was, at least Aizen offered him one last beautiful view before he attempted to steal his sight (I hope that it isn't permanent!). Good to see Gin getting more page time, and Starrk's alpha coming out.

Once again - a simply amazing piece of work!! I eagerly look forward to the next chapter!!
