Sorry, still not so much sympathy for Szayel. He's just getting back what he reaped before, and not just on the Shinigami, but on other Hollows as well. And I still haven't forgotten about zombie-Renji! As for the punishment...lets just think about what Gin went through for simply letting his attention lapse from his god for just one minute! For all that I'm supposed to have sympathy for Szayel for being punished for abandoning his post (albeit for a good reason), I have even more horrified sympathy for Gin for being punished that way for letting someone's tea cup run dry. Methinks this 'god' needs to have his godly bell rung, and rung in a gory, and fatal manner. When one being has that much arrogance and self-pride (hubris) the fall should be long, and full of sharp, deadly objects.
Oh, and...is poor, widdle Karin finally seeing all of the dirty, bloody underbelly of Aizen's Soul Society? Awwww...poor widdle thing! How will she ever deal with it?! Nope, no sympathy for her either. My sympathy is for Byakuya, and Renji, and Yumichika, and Soi Fon, and Toushiro, and Rangiku, and Gin. But I have no sympathy for Karin...she chose her bed, literally, and now she's going to have to lie in it.

nope, no more punishment for szay. he's had enough. aizen is pure evil & gin should get to kill him very painfully.

karin/szay scene was great. way you wrote her reactions & how she was comforting & helpful was perfect. superhappy that other females are getting to do more. ori gets to help at 4th & fight a bit, tats gets to fight & has a man, nanao has lots of respect, ran got to fight too, & ajuga & hana get to do more too. look forward to next chap

The answer to your question: NO! First of all because this is not punishment, it’s cruelty towards a spirit (Gin) and an Arrancar (Szayel). I want to hug him :)

I have no idea what you’re talking about, but I can tell you what I’ve been waiting for 58 chapters. Aizen killed in an atrocious way or Orihime pregnant and I guess the second one is the correct, right? o_o’

Hmmm ... Guess Grimmjow and Karin reinforced their claims at the end. Think Ajuga will have lots of explaining to do to mama, daddy, all her 'aunts and uncles' (as she calls them) ... and Szayel (when he gets back from his 'visit' with an unhappy Aisen). Hopefully Aisen goes easy on him if Szayel gets to explain that he was preventing harm from befalling Ajuga since Aisen had ordered that she not be harmed AND he had been informed moments before the attack that Ajuga had gone missing. Ajuga appears to be important to Aisen even though she isn't his. I'm sure Karin was given a bracelet tracker along with the bracelet at the baby shower but it could have been broken, batteries dead, or just plain lost because of disuse over the past two or so years. To be honest I think Ajuga adores Szayel and might attack Aisen if she finds out he has hurt (tortured) HER beloved Szay-chan. (laughing histerically at the image of Aisen frantically trying to remove a furious Ajuga hat ~ her claws extended and digging in). I'm betting a smaller bug or two were sent as bait/recon and Ajuga managed to stalk it/them instead of cleaning her room. Guess that is one little girl that will be given supervised laundry duty soon. On the positive side we now know that in a pinch Ajuga can defend herself to some degree if attacked by the bugs. I wonder if Ichigo is the tainted one or if it is Ajuga that is tainted since one has a hollow half and the other is half hollow. It is obvious that Yuzu should be pure as well (her power may just manifest differently ~ Szayel never had any reason to test her blood before she left) since that gene should be dominant from what I can tell ... Don't know what human gene it would pair with unless there is one that has something to do with untapped Psychic potential since Yuzu did see the spirit cat early in the series. Of course if she is being hidden away the bugs may be unaware of Yuzu's existence.

As for the power source ... Hmmmm ... I'm assuming that at some point in history Soul Society and Hueco Mundo had equal riatsu levels. Since electronics of some sort appear to have existed back before Urahara was banished the conversion of something to electricity had to be discovered (can't make or destroy energy/matter - fundamental law of physics). My guess is that an ancient member of squad 12 designed a way to continually condense a measured portion of the atmospheric riatsu into a denser fluid-like substance and it is kept in a containment area (think of an enclosure like Lake Meade) then the fluid is allowed to flow through a huge generator (think Hoover Dam) after which the riatsu evaporates back into the air only to eventually be recondensed later. This device would be in a well guarded part of squad 12 and the condensation stations could be small and scattered throughout Soul Society with underground 'pipes' to take the slowly condensed riatsu to the containment area. The collection devices (riatsu traps ~ like the water traps in the Dune series) would be required to blend in with the surrounding area due to aesthetics and ancient royal decree. The pipes, containment area(s), and generator(s) would have to be out of public sight as well to preserve the public aesthetics. This would also explain why Soul Society currently has a lower riatsu level than Hueco Mundo which does not have as high a level of electricity available for use.

Hope Szayel doesn't get tortured too bad. At least it won't be as humiliating for him as being spanked by Karin was. I wonder if Karin will feel any of his torture through the claim since other feelings are transmitted through the claims. Does Grimmjow know that Karin has claimed Szayel or does Grimmjow simply think Karin is so kick-ass and Szayel (in his weakened form) is such a wimp that she is able to spank him? I don't remember for sure that he was ever told.

entertaining chap again. that lil girl is gonna get punished! just a bit confused as to whether or not aizen knows about the royal blood thing & that's why he's trying so hard to get unohana pregnant (think so but not 100% sure. sad to hear szay will get punished for doing a good deed. suppose he can't say he was getting baby? makes me sad the super-powered troops don't revolt when aizen is such a horror-show.

I have a hypothesis about SS electricity … I think they use spiritual particles. They said at some point that SS if full of them, just like HM ... and it’s the only explanation I can think of.

Hmm. I imagine SS just uses Reishi for everything. That's what it seems like. This chapters revelations make me curious for everything. The bugs don't seem like the bad guys but I wonder how far they'd go to get someone on the throne and I wonder how much of this Aizen knows.

I loved this chapter and I cant wait to read more. I think that soul society uses kido for power. Idk. Update soon.

I'm with FY on the reishi thing. It would make sense since pretty much the only technology that needs electricity is used if there is no nonelectric alternative for a similar device and even in the Soul Society there is only so much reishi in the air that can be harnessed.

I have a better question though, do they have plastic in the Soul Society because I'd like to know what those I.V. bags that squad 4 uses is made out of?

I wish I had commented on this earlier when your last chapter came out but I think Orihime is going to get preggers very soon. You have heavily hinted that in order for an Arrancar to reproduce the couple has to be in love with each other. It seems Ulquiorra is just starting to learn how to be romantic giving Orihime a reason to love him even more. Plus I don't think you've been that descriptive before about Ulquiorra's semen.
