aaawww, that was a sweet/cute chap. so glad to see a non-menacing nnoi, one that seems to be starting to develop a sense of humor from shower scene evidence. hope his progress continues surely, even if slowly! as for a.n., chocolate covered pretzels are a fav snack food that could make good SS picnic snacks if they are able to get human world food.

hmm, if picnic ends poorly, i'm wondering if bugs will attack the crew during the festivities... update soon.

Hmmmmm so many possibilities were mentioned that I have to wonder which it could be ... Though I can always keep my fingers crossed that more than one is close. Yes it was cute and, pardon the pun, I think Rangeku milked Tesra's suggestion to the max, given the situation. Must say it makes me wonder how braindead and gasping in pleasures shock Noitra would be if she woke up first and got his morning wood kick started and revved up for a hard and heavy ride before he managed to fully wake up and come to his senses. Her climbing on top, positioning his hands to give her 'maximum frontal support', and then riding him harder than a champion jockey on Derby day ... Then, after milking him as dry as possible, snuggling up close and nuzzling his neck while purring something along the lines of "good morning mmmmmmm" (nibble nibble). Hmmm actually he might have her checked to make sure she didn't have something contageous...

It would be kind of nice if Rangeku figured out that he's actually a bit less confident inside than he let's on and that he really wants her to want him... He seems a bit nervous that she'd try to go to someone else and get claimed by them if given half a chance (hence his confirming no other potential claiming males would be at the party before his final conscent was given ... Ukitaki can't claim her and so is ok to be around)

Upcoming chapter ... Wonder who/what crashes the outing this time ... Another booted rescue attempt by a now enraged Uncle Ichigo? Or will bugs (those bugs) make an appearance and cause issues. Hmmm wonder if the bugs might carry that odd DNA strand or mutate a particular gene with their bite to make that odd gene Szayel is investigating ... Could be a possibility he could at least check out even if it isn't the case.

Food question ... If you want oriental foods only ... My all time favorite dinner (with appetizer and soup) would be traditionally spicy (not bland Americanized) Kung Pao chicken, with steamed pork buns, hot sour soup, pork fried rice, shrimp toast, and mochi. Otherwise ... Hmmm ... Depends on my mood but the list is still fairly short ... And can be mixed and matched ... Other items include ... Stuffed sautéed mushrooms, cream of mushroom soup, cheddar soup, crab Rangoon, crab dip with assorted dippers, prime rib with horseradish, filet mignon with bernaisse sauce, steamed asparagus with hollendaisse sauce, petit pois with a butter dill sauce, poached salmon with either a creamy dill or creamy mustard sauce, crab imperias, crab Oscar, fried shrimp with lots of remoulade or cocktail sauce, angels on horseback, chocolate (milk, white, or dark) mousse, truffles, creme brûlée, key lime pie, tiramisu, any form of stirred or baked custard including flan, bread pudding, berry cobbler (including cherry), fresh fruit parfaits, and sorbet/zabaglione. ... Well you asked ... I'm sure I missed a few but that's most of the common ones (I worked in fine dining for several years and we always had to try the featured dishes if the day ... At least one or two bites of every course before start of service ... Get to try lots of different things that way ... Will never have escargot or calamari again if I can help it).

hehehe Well looky whose come back to the real world. It's so nice to not feel tired NA. I slept alll day and though it will be short-lived I am enjoying my down time. Just wanted to say, poor Szay :p lol You should be grateful he is only a character, cos I shudder to think what he would do to you after reading that chapter! Well, I have some writing to do! Love.

Just imagine what a their baby will look like; Butterfly wings, antenna, and excessive make up! I hope the poor thing is a girl or else he'll never live it down!

Hmmm ... Thought it was Tesra not Masumoto that convinced Noitra to let her go to the baby shower, though in truth it was probably a combined effort along with Noitra being convinced to indulge his 'good woman' and obediently submissive pet in her longing to go ... As a reward for all her good behavior (just a guess ... But I think he'd probably swoon with happiness inside ~ not that Rangeku would ever see it or him admit it ~ if he knew she was smiling from pure joy because of something he did/said ~ that didn't result in him being dead or in severe trauma).

Still see the 'destroyed' soul (and probably the part not destroyed as well) retreating into a seemingly dead 'dormant' state similar to being in a cocoon while the dispersed fragments/molecules/particles recondensed and healed. It would definitely be interesting to see Szayels reaction to Renji being emotionally lifeless one moment then the next moment with no warning the 'soul cocoon' bursts open with a full unbridled onslaught of emotional outpourings to everything that had been experienced by Renji during the healing phase. Of course the regenerated soul would not have to be identical to the one that was destroyed ... It would, to use a Szayel analogy, be like lowly insignificant caterpillar transforming into a horribly terrifying butterfly. Wonder if he'd survive Renji's reawakening in any form (physically, emotionally, or mentally). Of course that is how ~ I ~ see it, but you are the author and it is your view that matters. (but oooooh the ensuing chaos and trauma would be fun to see ... Lol)

Hope classes are going well if you are in college/university ... Good luck on finals if it applies.

Wow! Nemu's and Szayel's bonding left me 0.0. LOL. I really liked this chapter, since it's so rare to see Nemu out of her robotic shell. =)

As always I enjoyed the chapter. I'm still not a Nemu fan but she is the most avaiable at the moment. It would still be kind of nice to see Orahime be concerned about Tatsuki being alone now that Orahime and Ulquiora have worked out their differences. Perhaps at some point in the future Orahime can hint at wanting a little 'alone time' with him and Ulquiora could use that as an excuse to let Tatsuki spend time with Szayel, with the understanding that no harm would come to her. (kind of like Ulquiora and Orahime having a private honeymoon time). It is still also possible to have Tatsuki feeling more and more like a fifth wheel and eventually have an emotional scene as a release prompting Ulquiora to look into possible ways to permit her an outlet for those emotions since he would probably notice that even though she might not outwardly object to sharing him with Tatsuki, it would make her feel less than comfortable. If Szayel was to perhaps be overheard around that same time mentioning a request that humans with high end riatsu levels who are encountered while on missions to the human world be brought in for study in regard to increasing fertility rates ... Ulquiora might discuss 'lending' him Tatsuki every so often for non-invasive tests; any intercourse would have to be connected to by her and she would not be permitted to be claimed as a result of such relations. ... Just suggesting the possibility since that would seem to be a long term interest for Szayel, and it could take a while for things to progress to that point on Ulquiora, Orahime, Tatsuki's side as well. I'd still like to see her get the hots for him first and peruse him as much as would be permitted, with him being the one with butterflies in his stomach. But I'll settle for him and Nemu for the time being. I just can't picture Nemu as a parent; I do see Szayel being a fantastic 'mama' figure and Tatsuki being a very protective'daddy figure though ... Lol. I just feel bad for Tatsuki since she's got no potential prospects at the moment; and I'd love to see Szayel in the 'skittish kitty' mode with her being the 'huntress' and him being the 'prey'.

Can't wait to see Rangeku and Noitra, especially if she manages to get a little bun in her oven.

The Zanpakto question ... Hmmm ...severe emotional trauma, probably shock as well, for a very, very long time. The thing is, was it just the physical manifestation of the weapon that was destroyed, the container for the condensed portion of the spirit? If that is the case then the spirit of the Zanpakto may have just dispersed upon release from its container and take a very long time to recondence into what would basically be seen as a spiritual chrysalis until it is once more healed and ready to emerge. Until that time though it would appear to anyone not aware of that aspect of the situation that the shinigami was emotionally dead or dormant. The fact that such a circumstance is so rare could mean that none currently alive have ever actually witnessed such an event, nor would there be any documented history in most cases beyond myth or hypothesis.

I forgot to mention this in my prior review. What I can see as kurosutchi's inspiration to create Nemu the way he did was ... He wanted the ideal sex slave toy. He gave her a female version of his original body (which he considered to be the most beautiful possibly, nothing like male vanity), made her even more detached, clinical, and thorough than his first unattainable crush (Unohanna) in public and at work, and with an even higher sex drive than the 'biggest slut' in Soul Society (in his opinion ... Rangeku). He was never able to figure out how to give her that final spark (love/ warmth/ passion) to make her his ideal. He lost interest in her as anything other than a lab assistant simply because he always got the feeling afterwards that he was just doing a very animated blow-up doll. Hence her abilities in both lab and bedroom, the obvious separation of personalities, and her heavily repressed sexual side (he'd never permitted anyone else to experience it, she was HIS toy ... When he wanted her ...). So Nemu craves sex and due to the current situation she sees Renji and Szayel as her only outlets, and Renji isn't showing any interest. As for the desire for a child, that is pure speculation (and blissful wishful thinking) on Szayel's part, since he is starring to want a child of his own now that Grimmjow and Karin's daughter has charmed him so much. In reality all Nemu wants is unlimited sex to make up for all the time she did without after her maker got bored. Her willingness to try to get pregnant from it is simply her duty as his lab assistant since he wants to experiment with fertility and she is obviously the most available candidate.

the interactions w/baby were really cute. i can believe that nemu finally letting go of emotional walls would mean an overload for the poor sucker that can sense them, and her giving him a time down to days was funny. hope that szayzel gets 'tamed' by his pet along w/ulqui, grim, other espada (yammy is a lost cause) & at some point noi (who i suspect would be the hardest nut to crack given his sexist self).

re: question, since zan is linked to soul i suspect it would lead to irreparable psychological damage, maybe psychosis or coma-type state. i don't think the body would die, at least not initially, but if psychological recovery doesn't happen, it might weaken over time & die from lack of care/nourishment, etc.

Nice chapter would have liked to see more of the gears turning in Byakuya's brain trying to figure out Karin and Grimjow's relationship. Also too bad he's too scared to ask a whole lot of questions about it, Karin might have given him some pointers on how to initiate a mating claim so Yammy couldn't have control over him. (I get the sneaking suspicion she gave Orihime some from what you hinted at in your previous chapter.) Now I'm interested to find out if Szayel in your fanfic is going to be gay or bisexual. It seems that he has both Renji and Nemu for practical reasons but Renji is taking the blunt of the abuse. And yay! It's good to know that some hot Rangiki/Noitora action is on the way.
