Love this story! Wish they had more romantic scenes, but I understand the difficulty with writing Byakuya's character. Great work!

I am loving this pairing, surprisingly. What can I say, I'm a sucker for these types of aloof male/uncertain female pairings! And you write it so well; it is 90% your ability to remain true to the personalities of Orihime and Byakuya that makes me actually even start to like Byakuya and not see Orihime as a Mary Sue. Oh, and I adore your descriptions of the Japanese wedding ceremony and tree binding ceremony. Five stars for the "Marriage" chapter.

I'm really enjoying your story. And I appreciate writers who put a little research into their stories, if they are not from that background.

There really is no need to embellish the beginning with more romance. It would not ring so true as it did since Orihime got tricked into marrying a stranger. You did a five-star job of thinking up and writimg this story. In fact, I demand MORE of your stories of Orihime's life among the nobles, her growing love for Byakuya, and their little daughter Midori! :p I'm "faving" this story, big time. I'll check out the 2nd chapter of "Twin Blossoms", too.

You did a really good job handling what could only have been a very difficult subject. There was no way I could ever see those two getting together but you managed to find a way that was both humourous and touching.

I thought it was decent enough plot and very well written, but I can't help to feel that there wasn't anything romantic about it. It's just missing that epic love story appeal. Like for example, how the characters view each other? when do they fall in love? What does Byakuya feel when he looks at her? Sure, explained that he doesn't view her as he did Hisana, but it didn't go into much detail beyond that. It's like he's viewing her as breeding stock. It jumps from catching the bad guy to Orihime giving birth. It just seems really cold.

I really enjoyed your story. Short, simple but very sweet. I had hoped that the ending was a bit more, well, long but I guess it did justice for itself. Congrats on a great fic. I really enjoyed it. I also like this pairing, Byakuya and Orihime. They have an opposite-ness the I find so endearing and beautiful in some way.

I love the story. I thought you'd forgotten about it and disappeared since ther were no posts all summer break.

I wonder, when Orohime dies will she no longer be bound by the contract or marriage vows since she signed the contract while she was still alive (no longer bound by the ties of her human life) and most marriage agreements and ceremonies set the limit as "till death do you part". Would she be a virgin again since it wasn't a human she'd been with? I figure Byakuya was too sick and weak to give her a 'proper' first time and if all is reset upon her death then he might have a second chance at making her first time 'right'. A lot of what may have caused them to both feel the lack of a spark could have been due to circumstances beyond their control. She was overwhelmed and felt more or less tricked into the marriage she wasn't ready for because of his poor health and her focus was his health not love or marriage. He also felt pressured by his poor health and his duty to his family. To compound matters he probably continued to feel guilty about their first time since he equated it with legalized rape and the second time would have been no better after what she asked. Is it possible that he loves her deeply but feels she couldn't possibly feel the same after all that happened so he uses the well practiced noble indifference facade to keep from further hurt emotionally?

If everything is reset upon her death would he woo her back properly and try to do it right now that the health issues and family meddling would no longer be a factor? Would she remember Byakuya and their daughter or would it be a relatively clean slate? He'd be given a very rare thing here ... A second chance at a first time. I wonder if he might even be a bit nervous or shy not that he'd really let her see it but it might cause him to observe her a bit before approaching (maybe after his daughter says 'I miss mommy too'?)

Just a few things to think about.
