I vaguely remember Hantaro having an apparent crush on Rukia in the first arc of the series ... let's see how he handles her returning the interest .... with interest. I'd still like to see his reaction to Unohanna calling him into her office ... locking the door ... then offering him an intimate and personal refresher course in ... anatomy ... focusing on the reproductive system ... Poor boy's brain would probably melt.

Actually I kinda wonder how Byakuya would react if a Nervous Neliel dropped off some paperwork to him from her captain then hesitated ... when asked if there was anything else she shifts uncomfortably and looks at almost anything but Byakuya as she says "I .. need to tell you something." He can tell she's tense about whatever it is. "Go ahead, I'm listening." Neliel glances at the door to make sure it's closed then moves closer to talk to the captain just in case someone is trying to listen through the door. "Y...You remember that night right?" she says in a quietly desperate voice, her eyes downcast and her face flushed, her anxiety about the topic written all over her. Byakuya gets the barest hint of a smile as he remembers 'that night' and how they had sated each others 'pride' several times before finally parting company. "Are you asking if I would like to partake of your companionship again Miss Odelshank(sp)?" "Wha...? N...no, that isn't it at all!" she stammered, her hand drifting up to rest lightly on her abdomen. "I ... We ... I um, just thought ... maybe you would want to know ..." Her trembling was obvious to him now as was the realization that she was fighting off tears. "Please do not say that you are upset because I did not contact you after that night, lovely as it was. Perhaps you should leave and recompose yourself before continuing on this topic." The moment her tears began to overflow her eyes he rose from his chair, "Renji, come and escort Lt. Odelshank(sp) back to her squadron." Renji entered and when he laid his hand on her shoulder to turn her toward the door Nel threw herself into his arms and began sobbing in ernst. Her words were muffled by Renji's shoulder and shirtsleeve but there was no mistaking what she said. Renji's eyes darted to the woman in his arms while Byakuya's eyes flew wide and his breath hitched upon hearing her muffled "I'm pregnant."
