While I will say that it was fun having the shock of it being Yuzu, I think that your first inclination of it being Ruuyken was more poignant. To have the father revenge the son and save a people that had all but eradicated his own, that screams of the justice of the Quincy and of Ruuyken's great despair at the loss of his son. Your stories are wonderful in their depth of character and your ability to weave dialogue, thoughts, feelings and actions into a beautiful tapestry for our imaginations. As this begins to come to a close I want you to know how much I will miss the look into these characters lives as you saw it. It was very hard work on your part and that of your editors and all given for free. You bless us, thank you.

Glad Grimm and Karen both had a part in Aizen's demise.

Did I say chapters? I meant paragraphs. Sorry about that.

@Kain

Here I am, once again playing Devil's advocate for the Arrancar... Maybe I'm wrong, but the impression I got from remarks made by a number of characters in previous chapters, was that the one thing that is not going to happen is some kind of attempted purge of the Arrancar population. I'm not giving them a pass for all the shit they caused, but it seems to me that the truth of the matter is that they aren't going anywhere. I don't want to sound like I'm saying this just to be contrary, but Ichigo has been a secondary character throughout the majority of the story, so I doubt he's suddenly going to emerge as the strongest person right at the end. Especially, since I think in this continuity, that Stark is the most powerful person in Soul Society.

Speaking of continuity... The whole point of this story was to offer a darker alternative take on the characters, as opposed to the train wreck that the actual manga rapidly devolved into. And personally, I think that removing Ichigo from the spotlight is one of the main strengths of the story, since I've always found the rest of the cast infinitely more interesting. But then, at my age of thirty, I've spent the last two decades watching anime and reading manga where the dramatic narrative is dependent on a single character. So I love the fact that POV has always been an ensemble piece. Or maybe, I'm just so desensitized to all the evil shit in this story that I can't bring myself to properly hate the Hollows... sigh.

Honestly, at this point, rather than another bloodbath, I'd prefer see what happens with all the forthcoming kids. I hope there's some kind of follow-up to this, because I'd love to see what Tatsuki/Tesla, Rangiku/Nnoitra and Toshiro/Halibell's kids will be like. Plus, there's the fact that Nanao *might* be pregnant with a cub, so that's something to think about. Plus, I'm in desperate need of some serious Ggio/Soifon good feels right now (which you can probably relate to). Not to mention I wanna see some more Ajuga/Diaemus fluff!

@DarkStar84

Once again, don't mind me, as you have seen many times over I tend to really get into my rants once I start and a purge is more wishful thinking from me than actual expectation. Who knows, maybe the old maggots nest will be of some use again. But as you will have noticed from my review I primarily wish pain upon the hollows who chose not to evolve past there base cruelties. And even my talk of Renji and Ukitake is motivated mostly by the fact that you simply can't hold back when everything is on the line, regardless if the beings you are fighting have become better people, war is war and they need to see the bigger picture of 'what is' over 'what might be'.

Now about Ichigo, I only asked if he was the strongest since Grimmjow flat out said/thought:

"This was the power of a Vasto Lorde, one who could toy with Starrk if he chose without breaking a sweat and it was close enough to feed on him if it chose. Grimmjow promptly sat on the urge to find hole and hide in it.

I quickly grew to love the fact that Ichigo was secondary in this story but was still curious if he would become the strongest. It would seem at least from Grimm's musings that in his ultimate form he surpasses Starrk.

I read the warnings and knew what to expect when I got into reading part one of this story, so I understand that I should have a thicker skin about what transpires but for me rape or even general abuse has always been a berserk button of the highest order. Wait I take that back, it's not so much the rape that it is certain characters treatment of it. Orihime forgiving Ulq for what he did is not much of a surprise since he never put her in the hospital and that the girl is practically the freaking messiah of anime lol. It's when other characters follow suit when they have legitimately been hurt by there claimers due to either a "Big O' that comes with the claim,passage of time, simply giving in or having a kid. Non of those are prerequisite's for forgiveness and love and as much as it frustrated me in the past Ulqhime is the only initially non-consensual pairing I can buy into evolving into love in this fic.

See what I mean about getting into my rants? I literally just wrote this last paragraph in a daze

I too am curious about the kids, regardless of the circumstances of their birth and how they grow and would love to see another installment detailing that. I also wonder if one of the couples would give birth to a hybrid that takes more after there shinigami parent in appearance.

And feel free to play Devil's advocate all you like, it is refreshing to discuss things with someone with different viewpoints and less bias.

And so it ends, what a glorious freaking battle. Everyone did there part and contributed to the tyrants downfall and you and blackfox detailed everything so well. Now all that's left after dealing with the king of all that is douche, Aizen, is to deal with Yammy,Barragan,Nnoitara and the rest of the bastards who refused to evolve. Loved how Aizen completely lost his composer when the enormity of how fucked he was started to dawn on him. Although I might be getting ahead of myself and you could pull a Kubo and have Aizen pop back up with the "just as planned" speech or something lol. But if Aizen is in fact six feet under then would this make Ichigo the strongest person around now? I mean aside from Yammy's released state is there anyone left who could compare with his reiatsu? And is his ultimate hollow state now gonna be considered the top dog too the numeros who felt and witnessed his power? At first I honestly thought you were gonna pull the "final getsuga tenshou" but I am glad that you didn't, this felt so much more satisfying.

Given that it is effectively a wartime situation Renji and Ukitake should have really not bothered taking it easy on there opponents regardless of them having a 'family' or not or whether they were cruel or not. The sentiment would not have been returned had the shoe been on the other foot and you think they would have learned having lost one war already. Even if they did lose at the very least they would have trimmed down Aizens soldiers and probably have been able to give Rukia and anyone else of the escapees who was at risk of being claimed a chance to get away. Honestly, being worried about "upsetting" someone is so Ukitake but still, he should learn from his mistakes. If someone who has spent the last 15 years as a 'pet' got upset that the person who 'claimed' them got killed in a battle to decide the freedom of the majority and the safety of the realms they might want to rethink there occupation as a Shinigami. And ya know it is only after I finish writing this god damned paragraph that I go over it and see just how much it screams bias and personal hate, I apologize. Once I get started writing on soemthing in a certain mood I cannot stop even when I realize how it sounds.

3 parts, and 207 total current chapters later and my rage remains unabated.

Karin is one resilient woman, after what she endured no less like 20 or so minutes previously and despite being absolutely terrified of Aizen she still found the strength to face him and effectively render him mortal and love how ryuukek came at the last moment and shut the mad man up for good. Absolutely brilliant chapter.

Hope you feel better soon.

-waits patiently for the next chapter-

YES, AIZEN'S DEAD!!! YES, YES, YES, AND HELL FUCKING YES!!!!!! *celebrates* I was reading it to my sister and once I began reading the part where the Quincy arrow stabbed him, she knew that it was Ryuuken from the description of the arrow. xD

You were right, I did NOT see that coming. Obviously he got waxed by a Quincy, but who? Unless Uryu made into Soul Society as a normal spirit and hid for the longest time. Next chapter has to deal with Yammy, I would think. That is going to be one nasty fight. Hope Renji is strong enough for it.
