I don't review much, mostly because I read on the go and I don't have much patience to type the sort of review this deserves on a phone.
Anyway, I have been with this story since the very first few chapters and I have always anticipated the next chapter. It's the first story I read and I often read a couple times when those spare moments come. I find the whole concept interesting and I enjoy very much how you dedicate chapters to a variety of characters to give them a viewpoint on how they are dealing with the situation, Aizen and their own complicated lives. I absolutely loathe Yammy (which means you're doing well!), adore the Starrk pack and Halibel has become one of my favorites to read. You've done very well with it (better than many I have seen) and it deserves much more attention than it receives.
I appreciate the work that you put into this and I'm sorry the lack of reviews discourages you. The details, the feelings, every little thing you put into it draw me in. The torture scenes with Gin, Aizen and Byakuya and Soi Fon and Ggio's plight with their unborn really drive the oppression home. The awful situation makes me feel for characters I thought little to nothing about in the series. I will definitely try harder to put in a review each chapter, if it will help motivate you to continue this lovely piece.
Thank you for writing this story and I hope that you will continue to throw us into emotional turmoil with your great story.

@Chapter 41: Wow, a lot sure happened in this chapter. And I really loved how you juggled all the different plot threads, while still keeping the narrative crisp and engaging. So much to talk about... First, it was nice getting to see things from a different perspective, namely Unohana, since her duties at the 4th's HQ (and being Aizen's trophy/toy) have largely kept her out of the main plot. She's able to view thing more calmly and dispassionately than some of the other characters would, while still having considerable empathy for the suffering of others. She's also a realist, trapped in a horrible situation, so she focuses on doing what she knows she CAN do- being a physician and confidant.
Part of me is sad to think about what's happened to "little" Mareyo, but I'm also somewhat relieved to see she's alive and coping as well as someone can, given the circumstances. As a guy, I almost hate to think/say this... But given that so many of the women (and a few men) have effectively been reduced to being the property their captors, their fates would likely follow two paths: they either despair and give up all hope (which is tantamount to committing mental/emotional suicide in the long term) or they 'submit' and make the best of their situation. It's by no means ideal, and it's not my intention to seem dismissive or sexist towards what amounts to emotional/sexual exploitation... But people who survive terrible situations often do so by coping, and it's not surprising that someone like Rangiku (just for example) decided that if she had to be property, she'd rather be well-treated property.
The next point is the revelation about the "fertility shift" that's taking place: that female ova and male sperm are adapting, to survive and cross-fertilize with the power-level and genetics of their owner/partners. It's mind-blowing to think about, but biology is a powerful force unto itself. But this is clearly an "Oh Shit!" moment on many levels... I sympathize with Unohana's shock/uncertainty/bewilderment. Damn, that's gonna be a *lot* of babies!
And speaking of babies... OMG, I was sooo excited when I realized that Tia is pregnant with Toshiro's kid! Aside from the genuine miracle that's enabled her to carry a child (given the further revelation of her "womb"), there's the fact the child is the offspring of two of the most powerful and intelligent beings of any of the realms! That kid is going to have one hell of a pedigree, since it's the child of the Tercera Espada and the "Ice Dragon". I can't wait to see how Toshiro reacts to this- though his recent "interest" in Tia leaves me to think he won't be too shocked. I really liked the portrayal of Halibell in this chapter, and I found her lapses of embarrassment and cluelessness very endearing.
I hope Nanao won't stay too upset, especially since Hana will be okay. Though, I can't imagine that her two "uncles" (or Lilinette) will feel much better, given how close-knit everyone is at the Ukitake Estate.
As for Kubo complicating things with his own bad continuity... It's hardly surprising. In an omake, Renji imagines what Zabimaru would look like if it were turned into a female, yet is totally surprised when he meets her, even though she's 90% the way he envisioned her. A more blatant example, and one that is clearly solely his fault, is Unohana's scar. Her neck is clearly visible- with NO scar- during the beach trip, in BOTH the manga and the anime.
I can't wait for the next chapter! I hope you have a great holiday!

@Kain
Are you trying to start a riot?! Because even suggesting what you did is potentially enough to incite some serious shit- both within the story and among the reviewers, and I personally don't want to see this website burned down...
Don't you give that woman ideas, she's evil enough without you helping her!
Great, now I'm gonna be looking over my shoulder- just in case someone throws a Molotov Cocktail!

I don't have time to write a full review now, but HOLY FREJOLES!!!! What a twist to add to the now tumbling tangles of intrigue already on the table.
Merry Christmas, genius. I hope it's a good one. I know I'm not very good at writing reviews. I think I have done two out of the whole slew of chapters that have completely enthralled me, but maybe this little note will add more sprinkles of cheer. I am a part of Beach RP and when we were talking OOC and I had got to know the majority of the leaders, I introduced them to this fan fiction. Three of the four are hooked, just as I am. I have read many fan fictions, not as many in this fandom I admit, but a lot, and there is no doubt that this one is one of the best out there in ANY category. Keep it up.
I can't wait to see what they think about this latest twist, if they have caught up~

hmmm.....ya know what...I said I would no longer harp on it an I am a man of my word, so no harping. Allow me one last howl of fury though. Excuse me:

OK! On to the true review!
Hana is one tough little cookie and I figured Harribel would have one in the oven eventually. I am pleasantly surprised that we got some info on the other claims and there are at least 64 claimed if I read that write which means that the numeros ranks have dwindled over the years of fighting the swarm. Harribel can be adorable when she is embarrassed or off her game and her affection for Hana is sweet. I wouldn't want to be in Retsu's shoes when she has to interview the claimed WITH their 'masters' present and report to Aizen that someone who by all the laws of nature shouldn't be able to conceive beat him to the punch. Poor Gin is probably going to catch the backlash though. It's nice to see that she does what she can for the claimed females although I still feel that discretion would have been better for the claimed women. Making it an order to appear is one thing but couldn't it have been done without the 'masters' present? And holy shit I am starting to harp so I will move on from the subject.
I actually pity the fool who left Hana to her own devices and now has incurred the wrath of not only 2 very powerful Espada but perhaps Aizen himself. Gonna love to see Toshiro's reaction to being a daddy.....that is unless Aizen is feeling less than benevolent(hah) and has Harribel terminate the pregnancy......now THAT would sever any sense of loyalty she may still bear for him.
This Weeks Question: Money is a little tight atm, so I am going to have to take it east this Christmas and probably just hang at a relatives house and share in the cheer their. Christmas doesn't really excite me much anyway anymore.
-waits patiently for the next chapter-
