Warning: Yaoi(boy x boy) don’t read if you don’t like.

AN: Thank you satterb and Yakumo for the reviews. I was sitting thinking the other day that I wish I had done this story from the perspective of Kenpachi but oh well I am still enjoying this one. I only hope the riokali is enjoying it since it was a request =p. Sorry for not posting this yesterday I had a power outage from a tree that fell across the power line then caught on fire. The neighborhood had a lot of excitement yesterday to say the least. Ok well Enjoy.

Chapter Twelve

Izuru sat amidst the multitude of boxes that were stuffed into the tiny storage room of Division Eleven. Yachiru was sitting nearby drawing. Ever since the day he had drawn her picture, she had thrown herself into bettering her drawing to be equal to ‘Pretty-chan’. Izuru didn’t mind the company, he even gave her tips from time to time in between boxes. Thanks to his initiative, paperwork had been dramatically decreased, resulting in more time for captains and lieutenants all around.

Izuru blushed as he recalled the various gifts that had made their way into either his office or apartment. Captain Kyouraku had kept his promise and presented Izuru with a large jug of high quality sake. Captain Ukitake had sent a porcelain tea set, Captain Kuchiki had gifted him with a beautiful silk kimono, and Captain Komamura had given him several rare books on kidou. He received various other minor gifts from the other lieutenants, Yachiru’s being an honorary membership in the Shinigami Women’s Association, which he politely refused in exchange for a picture she had drawn.

It had been an interesting week to say the least. Every night dinner, followed by a kiss that left Izuru even more and more frustrated. Izuru wasn’t sure he was going to last much longer before he broke. Kenpachi was like two different people. There was the captain who needless to say was a hard ass of the highest degree towards his division as well as bloodthirsty battle crazy man. Then, each night with Izuru, he becomes a considerate father and a damn good kisser. The kisses had been getting more and more intense each night. Last night, Kenpachi had implemented touches into the equation and then left Izuru hard and needy.

Taking the box that he had finished with and stacking it in the appropriate area, Izuru sat next to Yachiru and watched her draw. Nodding that she was properly occupied, Izuru continued on through the mountain of boxes. The door to the storage room suddenly burst open and a beaten and bruised Ikkaku slammed the door shut and leaned panting against it.

“You have got to do something about him, Kira.” panted Ikkaku as he began to seal up his bleeding wounds with a salve he kept in the hilt of his zanpakuto. “He’s gonna kill us all.” Yachiru giggled at the sound of desperation in Ikkaku’s voice, but continued with her drawing.

“Eh?” asked Izuru, while taking in the battered state of Ikkaku. It was obvious that Ikkaku had been Kenpachi’s victim also known as his sparring partner.

“The captain, he’s literally beating out his frustration on us.” groaned Ikkaku. Slumping against the wall, the bald man eyed Izuru as if trying to see what about him drew the captain so. True enough, he was attractive with blonde hair, blue eyes, and unblemished skin, but the captain wasn’t picky about looks in his partners, and he had never been this engrossed in a lover before.

“Fuck him, suck him, I don’t give a fuck just get him off our backs.” muttered Ikkaku. Izuru blushed red and marched over to grab Ikkaku by the arm and dragged him out of the room.

“Don’t you ever talk that way in front of Yachiru, do you understand.” growled Izuru after slapping the other man on the back of his head.

“Ow, its not the worst thing that little brat has heard.” muttered Ikkaku as he rubbed the stinging skin on the back of his head.

“I don’t care, don’t let me here you talking like that again or you will have more than Kenpachi on your back.” said Izuru before releasing the arm.

“Get back out here, Ikkaku. Don’t make me have to chase you down.” bellowed Kenpachi from outside. Ikkaku paled considerably.

“Please.” he whimpered. Izuru felt a flash of pity for the obviously desperate man. Sighing, Izuru walked towards the exit to the sparring ring.

“Stay with Yachiru.” said Izuru. The relief pouring from Ikkaku was palatable.

Stepping out into the sun, Izuru glanced around the area. There were panting division members laying all over the place in various stages of injury, most of it just flesh wounds and the such.

“Izuru?” inquired Kenpachi and he pushed past a dead on his feet Yumichika, who shot Izuru a look of immense gratitude.

“Don’t you think you are working your division a little hard?” asked Izuru.

“The slackers need to learn how to fight better. I can’t believe that this is considered the strongest division with worthless maggots like these.” growled Kenpachi, his one visible eye flashing dangerously.

“Well, how about I spar with you?” asked Izuru. He was taking a chance. He knew the bloodlust that encompassed the captain when a battle commenced. There was a good chance that he could be injured by Kenpachi if the man could not control himself.

“You?” Kenpachi started to shake with laughter. “You wouldn’t pose a threat to me at all.”

“I accept your challenge.” stated Izuru. He was more than a little annoyed that Kenpachi thought him too weak to pose any sort of challenge for him. He would find that Izuru was full of mysteries.

“Eh?”

“You said I wouldn’t pose a challenge to you and I am going to prove that I can.” said Izuru confidently.

“I wont hold back on you any more than I do for my own men.” stated the captain.

“I would be offended if you did. Lets make this a little more interesting with a wager on the outcome.” said Izuru, his confidence and excitement growing by the second. It had been so long since he had sparred simply for the joy of feeling his blade in his hand, its power coursing through him.

“If I can bring you to your knee then you will give your division the rest of the day off.” said Izuru with a slight smirk.

“And if you are brought to your knees?” asked Kenpachi, his own excitement growing as well. He had wanted to see his little Izuru fight but the boy seemed to avoid it almost like the plague. He had questioned Ichimaru about it and the only reply he got was that it was Izuru’s way to avoid meaningless fights.

“Name your prize.” said Izuru.

“You”

“What?” asked Izuru, confused.

“If I bring you to your knees, I claim you as my prize.” Kenpachi was grinning wildly now. He rolled his shoulders in excitement of a fight. “Oh, and none of that Kidou bullshit I know you shinigami in other divisions like to use.”

“Agreed.” smiled Izuru. This might be fun after all.

Izuru took a stance and waited for Kenpachi to attack. He didn’t have to wait long. The larger man set out to dominate the battle early on, his eye on the prize he would get from winning. Izuru was quick to dodge the attacks. Kenpachi was a fast fighter. He was a large man and it was unexpected that he would be so fast. Izuru had to keep moving but it wasn’t difficult to stay out of the way of the serrated blade. He hadn’t realized how much he had begun to rely on his kidou spells until he could not use them. This little spar was definitely an eye opener.

Kenpachi brought his blade down hard and Izuru barely had time to block the attack before it sliced into him. The man hadn’t been kidding when he said he wouldn’t hold back any more for him than his own men. Izuru’s arm was aching under the strain of blocking the attacks. Kenpachi was strong.

“Is this all you can do? Yachiru gives more of a fight than you.” snarled Kenpachi. Izuru scowled. Looked like it was time to put Kenpachi in his place. Raising his zanpakuto, Izuru released the blade into its shikai form.

“Raise your head, Wabisuke.” said Izuru calmly. The blade quivered and released a pulse of reiatsu before bending its shape to resemble that of a square sickle. Kenpachi raised his eye brow at the odd shaped weapon. It didn’t look like it would be dangerous at all. Quite the opposite, in Kenpachi’s eyes, the zanpakuto looked more deadly as a simple katana.

Kenpachi charged, he was finished playing games with the blonde. He would finish him off and collect his prize. Swinging the blade down harshly, he was surprised as Izuru didn’t dodge the attack this time, but instead brought his weapon up to block the attack. Izuru grunted under the strength of the attack and had to fight not to drop to his knees. He would not lose to the other man. At least not yet.

Kenpachi stepped back and tilted his head to the side, while his eyes remained on his opponent. The entire division was gathered around the two and looked on in amazed silence at the blonde boy that was holding his own with their captain.

Deciding to take a couple of swings at Kenpachi, Izuru lithely lunged towards the man with Wabisuke posed to attack. Kenpachi quickly brought his own zanpakuto up to block the attack, just as Izuru had hoped. Swinging Wabisuke in rapid succession, Izuru pressed his attack while he could. After five or so attacks, Izuru jumped away and waited to see Kenpachi’s response. For a moment, Kenpachi just stood there looking baffled at the short attack that Izuru had pressed before jumping away. Izuru was glad that he was gifted with a slender body that made it easier to rush in attack and escape once again before a counter attack could be launched.

Kenpachi took a step towards Izuru, then paused mid step. Looking down at his sword, a scowl formed on his face. His brows were drawn together and his lips pressed into a frown. He was surprised, Izuru realized.

“What the fuck?” the man muttered out loud. He lifted his zanpakuto with some difficulty and scowled at it before glancing over at Izuru who had a slightly self satisfied look on his face.

“Is you zanpakuto a little heavy, Captain?” asked Izuru. Kenpachi’s eye narrowed. He lifted the sword a few times in a test, swinging it hard. Izuru was a little surprised at the action. Usually after five or six hits from Wabisuke, his opponent’s zanpakuto was completely useless to him. Kenpachi had amazing stamina though. So even though his zanpakuto was many times heavier than normal, he could still wield it to some degree. Izuru had new respect for the man. Respect of no, Izuru was determined to win this challenge. A few more hits was sure to bring the man to his knees.

“Each time I strike your blade with Wabisuke, its weight doubles. I am impressed that you are even able to hold it. It is a testament to your strength.” said Izuru. Kenpachi snorted at the statement and flew at Izuru with more speed that Izuru thought possible considering the weight of his zanpakuto.

Izuru blocked the attack once again, the added weight coupled with Kenpachi’s own strength proved to be a powerful combination. The weight proved too much and Izuru dropped to his knee in an effort to keep the blade from slicing into him. Following Izuru’s sudden drop and the weight of his zanpakuto once again doubled, Kenpachi found him on one knee panting as he stared into the bright blue ones of Izuru.

“It seems this bet is a tie.” panted Kenpachi. “Alright you slackers, as promised you get the rest of the day off but don’t worry, I’ll work you extra hard tomorrow.” Cheers erupted from the surrounding Division Eleven members. They may pay for their free time tomorrow, but none would throw away a chance to rest, free of their maniacal captain.

“But I see you are on your knee as well.” growled Kenpachi as he hoisted Izuru to his feet. “Looks like you belong completely to me for the day.” The grin that had left his face was back in full force. Izuru paled at he way that he grinned.

“Yumi, get your ass over here.” shouted Kenpachi, while never taking his eyes from Izuru.

“Captain?” purred the feathered man as he pranced towards the couple.

“Keep Yachiru occupied, I don’t care how, for the rest of the night. I have plans.” growled Kenpachi. Yumi bowed to his captain and bounded away in search of the energetic young lieutenant. Kenpachi grinned and grasped Izuru by the arm. Pulling the blonde towards him, Kenpachi nipped at his lip before turning and leading the blonde towards his quarters to collect the debt in full.
