Two Masters of Unusual Zanpakuto Spirits
The secret
Grimmjow sneared a bit before sonido’ing his face displayed his shock when Tama wasn’t where she had been a minute ago. He quickly drew his Zanpakuto and it instantly clashed with hers. The clang of the metal striking against metal echoed in the otherwise quiet area.
Retract, attack, sash, clash, block, suddenly he was knocked back when Tama’s knee connected with his chin. He got back to his feet and felt a searing pain in his spine.
He carefully turned his head to see Tama’s blade embedded deep in his back, her expression was one of sheer unforgiving ruthlessness as her baby pink lips parted slightly and uttered the word, “Geki.”
Grimmjow’s mind went blank while his body twitched and convulsed uncontrollably before it stopped, and he fell off her blade, landing on the pavement below them.
‘Good riddance,’ Tama thought to herself as she cleaned, sealed and sheathed her Zanpakuto. She flash stepped onto a nearby roof and ripped the edges while her stomach twisted, knotted and churned. The noise inside of her head becoming louder, she swallowed hard and tried to ignore the roaring in her mind.
“Tama?”
Kisuke’s voice sounded like her head was under water, still she took a steadying breath as she said, “I have to eat. I’m feeling sick.”
“Okay,” Kisuke replied, placing a hand on Tama’s back. Tama closed her eyes, ‘I don’t want him to look… I don’t want him to see.’
Kisuke blinked a bit, ‘she has to really feel sick but..’
He blinked at her spiritual pressure change, ‘She’s…’
He picked Tama up, bridal style and flash stepped off, heading back to the shop. Tama kept her face buried into Kisuke’s shirt, her own hot breath fanning over her face. Despite her inner fight, the roaring was becoming louder by the second.
Kisuke looked down at the white haired woman in his arms, ‘that change in reiatsu..’
He landed at the Urahara shop and walked in, setting Tama down at the main table. She instantly used flash step to hide her face. Kisuke blinked, placing a hand softly on Tama’s shoulder.
“Snow?” He asked.
Tama didn’t move, the shift in her spiritual pressure was increasing. Kisuke felt his heart sink as he realized what was going on, “Tama, let me help.”
Tama hesitated before slowly dropping one arm to the side of her body, then the other, and lifting her head up to look at Kisuke. His eyes widened a bit, Tama’s skin was now as white as her hair, scales covered her face, her nose and mouth had begun to elongate, her nose looking more like a snout, but her eyes… her eyes were now pale blue with black sclera.
“You're… a prototype vizard,” Kisuke said.
Tama stood up before flash stepping downstairs. Kisuke blinked before he stood up and followed her, quickly catching up to her.
In the training ground, Tama gripped the side of a rock as her body continued to change.
Kisuke blinked as he moved towards her, “Tama?”
“Stay back!” Tama snapped.
Kisuke stopped in mid pace and kept quiet.
“This happens when I let myself go too long without food… and as for why I didn’t tell you… well… would you have told anyone willingly?” Tama explained.
Kisuke thought for a brief moment before shaking his head ‘no’, “No, I wouldn’t.”
Tama began to shake and sweat as she continued to wrestle with the inner hollow, occasionally unleashing a blood curdling agonized scream mixed with the hollow’s roar that echoed throughout the training grounds.
Kisuke felt his stomach twist in knots while his heart sank to his feet, all he could do was watch, there was no way he could fight this battle for her, after a while Tama returned to her original shinigami form, collapsing to her knees, and panting heavily in fatigue.
Kisuke flash stepped to her side, and held her.
“I need to eat,” Tama stated.
Kisuke nodded, “Alright.” He picked her up once more and carried her back upstairs and into the kitchen, getting her some fruit while he started on some rice.
In the soul society, Akon tapped the computer keyboard keys with a furious speed. His eyes moving from right to left as the data poured across his screen, “Captain, there’s a situation with sixth squad, third seat Shimizu.”
Mayuri looked over at Akon with an uninterested look while he replied, “A situation? Bothersome, just dispatch the nearest unit to her location. I told that arrogant noble that a third seat couldn’t possi-“
“Tama Shimizu is a vizard, however the hollowfication is unstable,” Akon reported.
“Unstable? Now that is interesting,” Mayuri replied with a small grin. ince
‘Hmmm, I wonder which part I should examine first,’ He thought to himself. For certainly, he, the Captain of the 12th and second President of the Shinigami Research and Development Institute, as well as the former vice-president, would be able to convince the old man into allowing him to experiment on such a rare specimen.
