Chapter Thirteen.

Rukia sat in the chair in her brother’s office in their home waiting for him to return from Nara-san’s home. She knew her brother’s heart might have been melted by Tamika’s tears of grief or that maybe her brother was finally letting his heart be warmed by her. She knew she had to find out for sure from him. She heard the door slid open and close. Without turning around to look if it was her brother, she spoke. “So brother, tell me do you have feelings for Tamika?”

Byakuya walked around her to sit in his chair behind his desk. “Rukia, do you have feelings for Ichigo?”

Rukia looked shocked that he would ask her that. “Why do you want to know that? You already know the answer to it, brother!”

“Then, you already know mine.” Byakuya stated.

“You do have feelings for her.” Rukia replied.

Byakuya glanced at his sister, before picking up a piece of paper and pretended to read it. “If I said I did, you would try to make sure that I would visit her a lot more and try to get me to date her, correct?”

Rukia smiled. “Yes, brother. You do need someone to love and to be loved back. I know my sister’s passing hurt you but it is time for you to move on and start dating.”

“And whom would you suggest me to start dating?” He asked, setting the paper down and looked at his sister.

“Tamika.” Rukia said. “Only to get Renji’s jealous streak to come out and for him to admit that he still cares about Tamika.”

“You want me to act that I am interested in her so he would confront his feelings for her?” Byakuya asked.

“Yes,” Rukia stated. “It is the only way for him to face his own feelings. He thinks he is hurt by what she said but I have a feeling once he got over his anger, he found that it actaully turned him on and now he doesn’t know how to get her back without admitting that he was wrong. He’s not a man who likes to admit that he made a mistake.”

Byakuya knew his sister spoke true and knew that Renji would confront himself about it. “Then, let us plan this little plan of yours out, sister.”

Rukia smiled as they both spoke about what they were going to do for the next few days. By the time, Rukia left the office, they both planned it fully out to the last letter. The plan was going to be perfect, it was only going to take some time to get it realized and Rukia smiled knowing that it will mean that her brother will finally have someone in his life that he can call his own.

Byakuya wondered if he could really open his heart to love once more, but what he wondered was could Tamika love a cold hearted man like him and would she fall for someone like him as he stared out into the courtyard looking at the moon but would their plan work to get Renji to notice Tamika again. He walked back to his office and picked up the papers that would start the process of accepting Tamika into the ranks of the 6th squad, wether Renji liked it or not – Tamika was going to be a member of the 6th squad.. He headed to the 1st division to speak with Cpt. Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryûsai about accepting her into his squad as his third seat since he didn’t have one. He waited in the waiting room till the 1st division lieutenant came for him.

Chôjirô bowed to Byakuya and spoke. “Yamamoto will see you now, Kuchiki.”

“Thank you, Chôjirô.” Byakuya stood up from the chair he sat in and followed him into the room.

Yamamoto smiled as he saw Byakuya enter the room. “So what do I have the honor of your presence, Byakuya?”

Byakuya smiled. “I am adding the rogue Shinigami Nara Tamika, to my squad as my 3rd seat and I am going to be dating her as well.”

Yamamoto shook his head. “I think someone of your status and rank, Byakuya, she should be a Captain. You deserve no less.”

Byakuya looked shocked at the old man. “How do you know, Yamamoto?”

“Well, I may be old but I do know that you deserve someone who is even status as yourself.” Yamamoto stated.

Byakuya knew it was true but he didn’t really minded if she was a Captain or not. “I don’t really mind if she’s a Captain or not, Yamamoto,”

Yamamoto smiled as he got up and took out a bottle of somekind and poured the amber liquor into the cups. He handed one over to him and took one for himself. “Then, you must really care for her that strongly not to mind her rank in the divisions, Byakuya.”

Byakuya smelled the drink before tasting it. “I would worry if she was in a different division than I was. How is she being treated, does her new comrades like her, different things like that, this way if she is in my division, there wouldn’t be any problems.” He then, took a sip of the drink.

Yamamoto smiled. “I think she should be brought before all Captains and yes, even those three vice Captains will be allowed in this meeting and see if she can do Bankai before us. If she can, she can have her pick of one of the three divisions that is lacking a Captain.”

Byakuya nodded. “I will tell her in the morning and bring her forth to the rest of the Captains.” He placed the cup down and stood up. “Now, I must go. I will see you in the morning.” He bowed and walked out of the office.

Chôjirô entered the room and looked at him. “Think there is a marriage coming for Byakuya, Yamamoto?”

“I believe so. He’s in love and he doesn’t even know it.” He replied, as he finished his drink and headed for his own chambers.

Will Tamika become a Captain or not?

You will just have to wait and see.
