Disclaimer:
I do not own Bleach and i dont make any money from this fiction
The deal
Warning: This fiction is yaoi which means boy x boy. If you don’t like don’t read.
AN: OK witness first hand the power of reviewing. I had fully intended to make Grimmjow and Ulquiorra the bad guys. Not cuz I don’t like them but because they are such fun to write. Anyway one of my long time reviewers was so sad since Grimmy is one of her favorites. Her review made me start thinking and I actually came up with a scenario I liked better than what I had previously thought out. Each chapter is written daily so your reviews have the chance to change how my story goes. So anyway arigato Jennifer, your love saved Grimmjow’s life. Also big thanks to Darkephoenix, Affie and Rysha for all the positive comments. You guys rock. Because of everyone that has been reviewing this fiction which I was planning only to be a max of 15 chapters has taking new life and its going strong. Now I have no clue how long it will be O.o

Chapter Sixteen
Grimmjow roared as he charged the grinning man. Gin’s hand reached for Shinso but knowing full well he would take a hit before being able to counter. White blur appeared in front of the blue haired Espada. Standing there, zanpakuto only partially drawn, was Ulquiorra blocking the attack at Gin. Ulquiorra had moved so fast he defied even the logics of flash step. Though his face retained the sad expression, the power that he exuded caused the air to crackle and several younger shinigami to fall to their knees under the pressure of his reiatsu. Ulquiorra didn’t fully draw his zanpakuto. He didn’t need to, Ulquiorra was powerful enough that he didn’t need his zanpakuto to defeat an enemy. He simply wanted to get his point across to his blue haired partner.
Grimmjow flung himself back, the anger he radiated was nearly palatable. Growling low in his throat, he shot an angry look towards Ulquiorra. Knowing full well his animal nature wouldn’t allow him to attack again since the alpha male had intervened. Powerful in his own right, Grimmjow had considered striking out on his own, but knowing he would never be able to leave the sad faced Espada. They completed each other. Ulquiorra was the reason and Grimmjow the passion.
Seeing Grimmjow’s submission, Ulquiorra sheathed his weapon and turned his attention towards Gin. “We are not those whom you seek.” said Ulquiorra quietly. “We have no desire to pray upon the worthless humans.”
Gin arched a brow but said nothing. It seemed everyone lately was surprising him. “Come.“ said Ulquiorra and motioned for the shinigami to follow him. That being said, the small Espada turned and began to walk towards the gates followed by a very perturbed blue kitty.
Gin turned to Kira, “Stay here with the others. At the first sign of trouble attack.” Hand resting on Shinso Gin began to make his way through the large gates. Byakuya nodded to Renji then followed. His eyes scanning every inch of the citadel. If there was to be a sudden attack, he would be ready for it.
Gin was lost in his thoughts as followed the two former Espada, knowing full well where they were leading them. Many times in the past year, he had walked these corridors. The citadel in its prime had been massive. There were places even Gin had never been. Here he had allowed his dark side full rein. Aizen had been more concerned with his own creations and had left Gin to his own devices for the most part. Picking fights with lesser Arrancar had passed the time and fed the darkness. Finally Shinso had had enough and forced Gin to account for what he had allowed. It was reminiscent of the battle for his Ban Kai. Only this time Shinso was the one to win. Gin was eternally grateful to his zanpakuto. Shinso had pulled him from the darkness.
A tiny ball of white crashed into Gin and startled him out of his thoughts. There standing in her child form was Neliel Tu Oderschvank or more commonly known as Nel. Looking up at Gin with huge eyes a spark of recognition was apparent in her face. Backing up fast, fear evident, Nel ran towards Grimmjow and jumped into his arms. The feline Espada wrapped Nel in his arms and whispered comfortingly in her ear. This was a surprising action from what Gin recalled of the blue haired Espada. It seems that even the feared Espada of Aizen have hidden depths.
Gin’s grin widened for a moment. Fear was radiating from her. She knew who he was and what he was capable of doing. In her current form she was no match for him should he decide to attack. This sense of power was intoxicating. ‘Snap out of it, you idiot.’ yelled Shinso pulling Gin from the dark part of his soul. Byakuya glanced towards Gin from the corner of his eye. Gin’s aura had seemed to change for a moment, becoming something dark.
“Where’s Itsygo?” asked Nel after she had found safety in Grimmjow’s arms.
“The substitute shinigami is holding back the influx of Arrancar and Hollow at this moment.” said Byakuya calmly. “Hence why we are here. To stop it at the core.”
“Tsk…..Come on then.” said Grimmjow made his way over to a pair of ornate double doors.
Pushing open the pair of large double doors, the group entered a large room. In the room was a large rectangular table lined on each side with chairs. This was the room where Aizen had held so called strategy meetings. In truth it was simply where Aizen had played sotaicho to his Espada. Aizen had always done what he wanted and everyone else was simple pawns on the chessboard. The only difference in the room was that Aizen’s chair was no longer there.
Gesturing for everyone to take a seat, Ulquiorra began. “After Aizen’s defeat the former Espada split. Those that hungered for blood followed Nnoitra and the rest remained here. Though there are those among us that hunger for the thrill of battle….” Ulquiorra looked pointedly at Grimmjow.
“WHAT?” yelled the blue haired man actually appeared to pout. It really was quite humorous to watch. It appeared the great panther Espada was well and truly pussy-whipped by none other than Ulquiorra. Who didn’t see that coming. The two had always seemed to despise each other. It seemed that that hatred was actually used to hide attraction. Gin was certainly amused watching the interaction with the sad faced man and the blue kitty.
Clearing his throat, Ulquiorra continued “To the north at the base of a mountain range is a fortress that Aizen-sama was building. It was nearly complete at his death. Nnoitra took his followers there. Much of the citadel was destroyed by Kurosaki and then by the battles that were fought. Those of us that chose to remain here wanted only to live quietly. At first Nnoitra was content to focus his attacks on the humans. Lately his Arrancar have been attacking here as well. We wish to aid you in destroying Nnoitra and in return we ask to be left alone by Soul Society. This is a case of the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Ulquiorra finished, his face expressionless.
Gin glanced towards Byakuya. This would be tricky. Orders were to destroy all remaining Arrancar. Failure to follow orders could result in disciplinary action. Gin wasn’t anxious to spill unnecessary blood even though his dark side called for it. An idea occurred to Gin but for it to work, they would need to enlist the aid of Zaraki-taicho.
“How do we know we can trust ‘em?” growled Grimmjow. “That one has betrayed before.”
“If I give my word, my honor would not allow me to go back on it.” answered Byakuya. Grimmjow muttered under his breath but remained silent. Ulquiorra trusted them and he trusted Ulquiorra. Fucking shinigami, the only one of them he would ever trust was Kurosaki Ichigo. He had fought that one and knew the man didn’t have a deceptive bone in his body.
“Give us a few minutes to confer with our officers.” asked Byakuya and he and Gin made their way back towards their fellow shinigami.
“So, ya thinkn’ the same thing as me?” asked Gin as they slowly walked down the white corridor.
“Perhaps.” answered Byakuya “However, it will not be easy to convince this many of our subordinates to keep quiet.”
“I’ve got it covered.” Grinned Gin as he pulled out a memory replacement device or MRD. The only downside of such devices was that individuals with strong minds were able to resist the replaced memory. Hence, why Zaraki’s cooperation was needed. There is no way that man would be swayed by the power of the device not to mention several of his officers were a power in themselves.
“Zaraki-taicho, may we speak with you for a moment?” asked Byakuya as they stepped out of the large gate. Kenpachi made his way towards the other two taicho. His bored look had returned.
“What? Can the battle start now?” asked Kenpachi, the annoyance in his voice evident.
“Zaraki-taicho, The Arrancar living here are not the ones responsible for the raiding of the Living World. They wish our aid in taking down those that are responsible. They also wish to be left alone after Nnoitra is dead.
“How the fuck are you gonna pull that off?” asked Kenpachi “There are at least 50 of those shinigami over there that wont be able to keep their fucking mouths shut about this. Yamamoto is sure to find out.”
Gin flashed the MRD. “Those that are strong enough to resist in our squads are loyal to us and wouldn’t speak of failin’ to follow orders. However we have no standing with ya squad.”
“Tell ya what, fox face. If I get a good battle out of this trip, those in my squad that can’t be hypnotized by that do-hicky will keep their fuckin’ mouths shut. That’s a promise”
Gin grinned, if it was a good battle Zaraki wanted then they had best start making their way towards that fortress. Far be it for Gin to deny his fellow taicho the pleasure of a fight. Gin himself was looking forward to good fight. Ulquiorra and Grimmjow appeared near the three taicho. Byakuya nodded to the newcomers. Time to prepare for battle.
