The kiss
Ayame's 13 now. she's already started at the Shinigami Academy, and she plans to graduate top of her class.

Ayame heard her alarm go off, and he hurried out of bed and got dressed. It was to be her first day at the Shinigami academy, and she was exited to make new friends. Her mother, Rukia, was still in bed, and her stepfather, Ichigo, was training with “Uncle Renji.” She was hoping that she could make a good impression on the students when by being personally escorted by 2 of the captains of the Gotei 13, but her real uncle, Captain Byakuya Kuchiki, was away on a mission, so she’d just have to settle with the 5th squad Captain, her father, to make the statement she needed. Until now, she’d always been a quiet little girl, who thought no one noticed her, and for the most part, she was right. This was something she was determined to change,
On her way out she ran to her step-dad, and grabbed his arm. “Dad, let’s go, I’m going to be late!” Ichigo looked confused, “late for what?”
“I START CLASS AT THE ACCADEMY TODAY, YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO WALK WITH ME!” she yelled, irritated at her father.
Ichigo picked her up, and carried her on his back, uncle Renji walking behind them. After about 20 minutes, they made it to the academy, and everyone stared at Ichigo, and Renji, amazed that a Captain, and a Lieutenant would come to the academy. Not one person noticed the girl with them. Ayame wasn’t too surprised, few people ever noticed her, so why would they now that a captain was there, even if he was with her. Ichigo put Ayame down and hugged her goodbye and left.
Only one person actually approached her to ask about Ichigo and Renji showing up, and that was Renji’s daughter, Hiromi. Hiromi looked quite confused. “How’d you get my dad to come with you to school? He said he was too busy training” Ayame hugged Hiromi, ignoring her question, clinging to the cute girl. “AYAME, GET OFF OF ME!” Hiromi said as she threw her friend off of her.
Ayame stayed on the floor where she landed, to depressed to get up. “Hiromi, why can’t I get anyone to notice me, why am I always just the girl in the background. Why can’t I be a main character.* Why is it tha…” she is interrupted by the Hiromi’s laughter. “Wow, you’re upset over that? How pathetic. Is you want them to notice you, force them to. That’s all there is to it.”
* this is Metaphoric, not a break in the forth wall
“What do you mean, just make them? It’s not that simple.” Ayame said, still lying on the floor, “If it were that simple, I’d have done it a long time ago.” “Ayame, if you want them to notice you, excel in something, be the best, and they’ll come to you in admiration. See, Simple.”
Ayame just stared at Hiromi, “Yeah, be better than anyone else at something, that’s really simple…” she said sarcastically, though Hiromi didn’t seem to notice. “Ayame, shouldn’t we get to class? The bell rang about 2 minutes ago.” “Yeah, help me up…” Ayame replied, reaching out her arm. Hiromi pulled her up, but just as Ayame got to her feet, Hiromi, her best friend, kissed her. Ayame would have collapsed in shock if Hiromi were not holding her up during the long kiss.
Hiromi was the one who broke from the kiss. “You’re just too cute Ayame.” She then let go of the confused girl she had grown up with, who was too shocked to even move, and ran to class. Ayame missed first period.
