Hide and Seek

When she opened her eyes, Rangiku was back into reality and she couldn't help but feel betrayed at the zanpacktous words. Toshiro had left with Aizen and Gin Willingly, he didn't doubt trusting them at all? Not even a second thought to the consequences that might happen by doing that. She winced at the thought, almost instantly her body felt disgusting. 'Maybe I should, not tell anyone.Maybe I should move on with my life and forget about him. I can't believe I thought he was different.I am such an idiot. How did I even fall in his lap, how did this even happen? Why is this happening to me...what di-' her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. It was Hisagi, he entered and sat down at the foot of the bed and began to talk,but nothing registered. It all was just a blur of speech, like she was underwater. She was drowning and she didn't think anyone would be able to save her.

Toshiro had been training for two months by that time. He was on the same level of strength already with some of the other Espada.None of them agreed with what was going on but Aizen was the king and as king he didn't have to have reason. But everyone was in the dark,even Toshiro. But Toshiro didn't question anything, he fought and trained blindly with rage. He had lost all sense of reasoning and didn't rebel once against Aizen that was until he was alone with a certain espada one tiresome night.



He walked into his room to find the insect like man staring into his eyes. Nnoitra, Toshiro closed his eyes and entered the room, he was to tired to care about the man.



"So your Toshiro?" He asked breathing in sharply and shaking his head " Man she could do better. A fine woman like that." He closed his eyes.



"..." He ignored his comments thinking he was mistaken.



"Rangiku?Right?" He opened them smiling a grin that was more evil than any person he had seen.



Toshiro stopped what he was doing and turned to him, he hadn't even thought of her. How could he not think of her!? He was here for her...right?



"That is her.Kah! Who would of that slut being with you?"



"Silence." He spoke in a commanding voice.



"OoOo testy are we? I think your old rank is sinking into that skull again." He spat.



'rank?'He questioned in his head.



"You know your not a captain here,meaning I do not have to listen to you." Nnoitra rose to his feet and walked from behind him in a very cat like manner. Inspecting his victim and became face to face with him.



'Rank, I guess it was a rank.' He concluded.



"hmm, I saved her you know that? From her woes and pleas of freedom." He motioned with his hands nonchalantly.



"She said you helped her.But that was as far as I heard."



"Lets just say I bunkered down with her for a couple hours."He grinned licking his lips.



"I don't want to know."



"She wanted it, no worries. I wasn't like Aizen or Gin." He shrugged.



He opened his eyes from there closed position and looked at him seriously. "Why are you here?"



Nnoitra heard his winter voice change and it made him freeze for only a moment, but Toshiro noticed the moment. " Just to remind you that we still are enemy's no matter what you become." Nnoitra left him alone.



'Its to far now, I cannot turn back.Soon I will be turned and I cannot go back now. I must get my honour back.' he thought clenching his fist and looking over to his sword. 'that must be the reason I cannot hear you anymore. You are ashamed to be around me, I will be back soon Hyourinmaru.'

2 months ago.



Rukia entered soul society and marched her way to the Kuchiki mansion.She didn't even stop to say hello to anyone. When she passed Renji he stopped and looked at her in shock as she passed angrily. He gulped never seeing her like that "Rukia? Where are you going."



"To my brother!"



"W-what is wrong?"



She stopped and turned to him " I cannot believe you helped him, but I understand. You are a mindless dog to him so its expected." She spat. He cringed at her bite and was about to answer but then realized what she was speaking of. He lowered his eyes and decided it was best to follow after and try to stop her.



"Rukia, wait." He demanded but she was already entering his private Garden.



Byakuya turned to her and was about to greet her when she lifted her hand slapped him across the face so hard that one of the plates in his hair fell to the ground. She seethed in anger, his eyes were wide and he looked to Rukia in disbelief and anger. Renji put his hand to his sword ready to unsheathe it when Byakuya eyes calmed. Rukia's shoulders shook in a trembling way. " W-why did you do it? I don't understand? Behind our backs?! YOU DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME?!" Her voice cracked as she yelled sobbing. She clenched her teeth and was surprised when she felt his hand pull her face up to look at his. She stopped abruptly looking at him and could see the inner turmoil within him.



"Rukia, I did what I had to." He stuttered.



"B-but why?!" She met his gaze.



"Rukia, I am a captain of the 13 court squad. If I didn't list-



"But Aizen schemed it! Don't you see?" she breathed shaking her head.



"Aizen? But that is impossible?" He stammered out.



"Is it Byakuya?" She asked.



It was then that Byakuya started to think of the possibilities, it in the end did add up to make some sense. He then went to the prison to talk to the prisoners where he found out the worse.



-back to 2 months later-present-



Renji was told by Byakuya never to tell anyone of his movement. It was the first time Byakuya had worked outside of the law and he was uncomfortable doing it.He didn't know what to do from there. He had done enough research to figure out that it was a scheme by Aizen, but the only thing he could not figure out is where Toshiro went. Where could he have gone?

"They will come." Aizen spoke to Gin telling him the plan.



"How are you so sure? Is it even possible for them to know what is going on right now?" Gin chimed in.



"I have a theory Gin." Aizen smirked.



"Oh~you and your theories."



"Do you want to know it?"



"A bit. You know how curious I am, Aizen." He bit his lip in anticipation.



Aizen snapped his fingers making a seal around the room that shown gold from the inside. Nothing was to be sensed on the outside, but this was a gold box that surrounded the premisise blocking out all of the allies and of course...Toshiro.



"Gin does it not make you wonder? Toshiro being here so willingly." He asked folding his hands into bridge. Gin looked bewildered at his words. " I have controlled his aura, or his mood you can say. I have helped him ease into the idea of being here with my control of Heuco Mundo. Everyone has instructions around me not to bring up things like your lovely flower, Rangiku."He purred.



Gin opened his eyes to almost glare at the lord. " Aizen." He interrupted." May I ask of one thing?"



"Go on."



"If we have to kill Toshiro. I want to be the one to do so." He almost snarled his words out, but they were smooth and silky still in his own voice.



"I suppose I will think of that request.But that isn't even the main part of my theory,my Gin." He smiled cynically. "My plan is to-



"SHH Aizen! Spoilers." He whispered.



Aizen stared at the man in a way that was almost surprised. " I suppose you are right my companion. I suppose you are right." He breathed a heady laugh.

Rangiku rolled over to where the bed was moved into her room. It was Hisagi, he insisted on it just to make sure she would be fine. She didn't even remember when it happen. But it just now hit her, she watched his body move up and down in a deep slumber.She sat up looking out at the moonlit sky, it was a crescent moon. The memories still were deep in her brain. The thoughts of what had happen to her not to long ago. She closed her eyes and breathed in deep. She went to the closet and put on a long sleeve shirt and heavier jacket. She then put on a pair of jeans and socks, she looked to the corner of the room to see her sword. She hadn't even picked it up since Toshiro had left. She sighed and walked over to the sheathed weapon and put it through the belt loop and whispered some words to make not visible to the human eye. Rangiku was out the door, leaving Hisagi to his self.



She moved down the stairs and went out the door. It was still cold out, but to be honest it was the one thing she was stubborn about. She wanted to feel the cold to remember his touch. She was walking down the street at 2am, moving silently towards the train station. She had a debit card now and a credit card. Along with ID and the other required things. She hurried to the station to buy a ticket.



When she arrived she could ​feel the snow about to fall soon. She was more acute to the cold weather now and she most definitely could tell it was about to. She stopped at the automated desk and purchased a one way to Tokyo. She would start a new life there hiding her reitsu and becoming a normal human and start all over.She was nervous, but it was the only option she had in mind that would work.



She walked to the empty platform and sat at the bench. Her train would arrive at 2:45, it was 2:30. She looked at her watch and closed her eyes. She would wait patiently.



"Burr, its a bit cold out, Matsumoto-san." A sing song voice spoke.



She opened her eyes and gasped looking to her right, Urahara stood next to her. How did she not notice him?! She bit back a sigh and spoke" What are you doing here​?"



"Keeping you company." He spoke in a low voice " May I?" He gestured at the seat.



"S-sure." She nodded.



He sighed and took off his hat which was a rare sight for him. He set his cane to the side and leaned forward. "So, your leaving eh?" He questioned.



"...your not stopping me."



"I wasn't going to try."



"You weren't?"



"No. Me of all people has no right to tell you not to run away."



"I am not running!"She shouted.



He waited for her response.



"I don't know what to do, Urahara." She sighed looking down at the concrete.



"What are you confused about?"



"What am I not confused about."She laughed sadly " Toshiro...is...alive." She breathed in a pained voice. She leaned forward and brought her hands to forehead and weaved them through her hair and gripped her roots leaning over. " God I am so stupid."



"He is alive."He spoke and she couldn't really tell if he was stating it or questioning so she just answered.



"I was approached in a dream by Hyourinmaru." she looked over to see Urahara smiled warmly and close his eyes as he listened. " He told me Toshiro willingly went with Aizen to get power." She spoke ashamed "Did he forget what Aizen did to me and everyone?" She asked sitting up to speak clearer.But Kisuke waited for her to finish." So now he is there in Heuco Mundo training under Aizen, to help Aizen."Her voice was a low whisper.



"Rangiku,"he paused"If Yoruichi was taken from me and hurt I would be so angry and do everything in my power to help her and save her." He laughed " Even though I would have been scolded for not getting there faster." He added blushing a bit.



"BUT THAT DID HAPPEN TO YOU!" She barked. " Your honour was stripped away and everything was on the line! You both came here to run from them! You didn't go back!"



"If they would have found me in this world and tried to kill her, I would do the same thing as he did. I would have offered myself up for her to live." He smiled deepening the blush.



"Do you know what this has put me through!?" She asked eyes brimming with tears. "And then to find out he is leaving with him to help him, would you have done that? Answer that Kisuke!" She cried.



"Rangiku, I am the reason all this is happening. I helped him finalize his power of the hollowfication process." He spoke in the most ashamed tone anyone could ever hear."you know, whose support didn't falter during that?" He closed his eyes and smiled. Rangiku looked over to Kisuke to see tears roll from his eyes to his chin, it hung there and finally dropped to the concrete.He continued " She​​ was there through the whole thing, she saved me from my demise and brought me here. I worked for weeks trying to undo the Vizards coma state. During those weeks I would be so irritable you would have thought I was pregnant. " He chuckled. "I was so alone, but I was alone with her." He opened his eyes. "She didn't even ask for the truth, it was like she was content just to be by my side. ​She fought for me,she was there for me, she was my shoulder, my strength and when I finally found a solution to the Vizards state. She was brimming with happiness because she knew I was happy​​." He paused a moment and then continued" When she went to Soul Society with Ichigo, I was so worried. I didn't sleep an ounce, When I would go to sleep I could hear my sword telling me she was fine and that there was nothing to worry about." He began to laugh " I didn't know this but when she came back she told me she had a dream while she was there about my zanpacktou. She talked to her and said it was weird.But all I could do was smile." he smiled as he said the word " It wasn't until I thought about it more and it meant that we were connected."



The platform began to rumble and she looked up to the clock hanging down and it read 2:43. Steps were heard coming towards her and they both looked up " I had a future there Rangiku, I had a chance. I wasn't even involved with what happen to Kisuke. But that didn't matter to me."



Kisuke smiled, it didn't seem to bother him that she might have heard any of what he had said. Rangiku reached in her pocket and held the ticket in her hand. "Why would you do that."



Yoruichi looked at her in disbelief. " Does the answer even need to be said Rangiku?! Even he isn't that dense!"She yelled. Kisuke didn't shift or anything he sat there still as the wind.



Rangiku rose to her feet and nodded as the train wooshed past the three and finally stopped with a loud hiss.



"Did you ever think that maybe he is doing this because he is so angry and trying to protect you? He is young Rangiku, he still is a teen even though he doesn't act it most the time. Maybe he is just as confused as you." She yelled once more getting angrier.



Rangiku didn't stop and continued to the doors that were opening. Yoruichi eyes flared with anger and she went to approach the girl when a warm hand stopped her. She looked back to see Kisuke holding her hand. "K-kisuke we have to-



"Let her go." He spoke.



Rangiku was seen through the windows taking her seat she was at the far side of the train against the window facing away from the two she had conversed with.The doors shut and the train began to move slowly and then picked up the speed towards Rangiku's destination.



"Why did you let her do that?!" Yoruichi barked " She is going to give up on him when he has do-" Her sentence was broken by Kisuke's lips onto hers. It was a firm and gentle kiss that made her cheeks beam red from her darker skin. Her gold eyes watched as his closed eyes held the kiss. She closed hers as well and he pulled away.She smiled at their first kiss.



"I would like to hear the answer." He chuckled at her expression.



Yoruichi opened her eyes about to yell at him in a retort " I love you Yoruichi, I never told you this. Thank you." He put a finger on her lips to shush her harsh words about to spill out. She smiled and turned away from him.



"Your still an idiot." She blushed.



"A hopeless one for that matter." He put his hat on and rose to his feet staring at the train disappear.



"Do you think that is the last time we will see her?"



"No. Not with all that we gave her." His fan appeared almost instantly as he waved air at her.



She rolled her eyes "You worry me you know that?" she turned and began to walk away.



"Oh come now." he followed after her.

Author note: This was a really nice chapter to write. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I based this chapter really after Kisuke telling her some personal things. I have been listening to this song over and over again called no sound but the wind by the editors. The first couple versus reminded me of the two, Yoruichi and Kisuke.
