Epilogue.

Warning yaoi(boy x boy) don’t read if you don’t like.

AN: Thank you everyone who supported this fic. Thank you riokali for expressing an interest in me writing this. This is the last chapter and it is more of a follow up for the rest of the story. Izuru owes Gin. Now he will be collecting. Its my own little twist on why Kira distracted Hitsugaya and Matsumoto at the Central 46 murders. I actually used dialogue from the anime. So the conversation between Hitsugaya and Izuru is 90% from the anime. Enjoy and thanks again.

Epilogue.

50years later: shortly after the invasion of Ichigo and crew.

Izuru sat in the prison cell awaiting release. He shouldn’t have done it. Why did he release Wabisuke on Momo. She was his friend and yet she attacked Captain Ichimaru. His duty was to his captain over his friends…right? This was so fucked up. He didn’t even want to think what Kenpachi would say to him once he was back home. His lover obviously didn’t know that he was in jail, or there was no doubt in Izuru’s mind that he would be here.

More than likely, his bored lover was still seeking out the intruders. The moment Yamamoto had approved the release of zanpakuto within Seireitei, Kenpachi had been long gone in search of the strongest among the intruders. Izuru really pitied the poor fool that lead them. Kenpachi was merciless when it came to battle. Well he was merciless when it came to sex but that was neither here nor there. Not that Izuru complained. The fact that Kenpachi was always there with him was more than any other person.

It bothered him, though. Captain Ichimaru’s response to Captain Aizen’s murder. Momo had the appropriate response. She was distraught to the point of a near mental breakdown. Captain Ichimaru though…he was unconcerned. Izuru had known for several years that the two captains were lovers. To his knowledge, they still were. Unlike Kenpachi and himself, Aizen and Ichimaru’s relationship was closely guarded. Only a handful of people knew just how close the two actually were. Momo’s obvious devotion and love for the brunette captain said that she was not among those that knew. So many times Izuru had wanted to tell his friend, but it wasn’t his place to speak about Captain Ichimaru’s private life.

Izuru sighed. Momo’s pain placed the death of Captain Aizen with Captain Ichimaru. He had seen the look in Ichimaru’s eyes. It was a gleam that he had never seen before. He knew the moment Momo drew her blade that Captain Ichimaru planned to slay her should she attack. In defending his captain he also saved the life of his friend. Though she probably wouldn’t see it like that.

“Kira”

Izuru glanced up and saw his captain standing before the prison bars. His never ending grin, held something a little darker than Izuru liked. What happened to his captain? What brought on this darkness?

“Whatcha doing, Kira.”

“Captain Ichimaru!” exclaimed Izuru.

“How would you like for me to get you out of there?” asked Gin.

“Captain?”

“Time to call in that favor, Kira.”

Izuru felt a cold draft grip his insides. After so long, Izuru had assumed that his captain had dropped the issue of payment. It appeared Izuru wasn’t so lucky. Izuru prayed that he hadn’t sold his soul to the devil. The key turned in the lock and Izuru stood to follow his captain from the cell.

“Where are we going, Captain?” asked Izuru nervously.

“You’ll see when we get there.” answered Gin.

Izuru fell silent. It felt almost as if he was walking towards his doom. Darkness fell on his heart. Honor dictated that he at least see what his captain would ask of him. So lost in his thoughts that he almost ran into Gin when he stopped suddenly before the Gates of Central 46.

“Follow.” said Gin.

“Yes, captain.”

Gin opened the doors as if they were nothing. There were no guards, no aids, nothing. Central 46, the running government of Soul Society was silent as a tomb. Then the smell hit him. It took all he had in him not to gag at the scent of rotting flesh. They stepped into the main hall to be greeted by the bodies of everyone in Central 46.

“Captain…what have you done?” whispered Izuru, his mind unable to come to grips with what he saw before his eyes.

“You should thank us, Kira. We did you a favor. Now any and everyone that ordered the death of your parents is dead.” smirked Gin.

“Us?” whispered Izuru.

Gin just smirked. That smirk was something that Izuru hoped never to see again. It signaled death and destruction. He was standing before his death. This was his grim reaper. This man whom he had once looked up to held his life in his scales.

“Your job is to delay Captain Hitsugaya and his lieutenant. Use any means necessary. Do you understand, Kira? Any means necessary.” iterated Gin.

“Yes, captain.” murmured Izuru, his eyes downcast.

“Kira, consider your debt paid after this.” smirked Gin.

Izuru nodded as the other man left. Did he mean kill them? Izuru’s hands shook as he gripped the hilt of Wabisuke. He didn’t know what to do. Movement from down the hall, forced Izuru into hiding. Moments later, Captain Hitsugaya and Matsumoto walked into the main hall. He heard them talking but couldn’t distinguish what was being said. Izuru froze. Momo. Why was Momo with them, her reiatsu and physical presence hidden. Now he was powerless to help her. He must do as he was ordered. Momo would be alright. Please let Momo be alright. They turned to leave and Izuru decided that it was now or never.

“I thought you would be here, Captain Hitsugaya.” said Izuru from the doorway. He was proud of himself for keeping his voice steady.

“Kira! You aren’t the one that did this, are you?” growled Hitsugaya.

Izuru snorted and walked away, leaving Hitsugaya and Matsumoto alone in the room of death.

“Follow him, Matsumoto!”

Both captain and lieutenant raced after Izuru. Izuru sped through the rooms and drew both captain and lieutenant from Central 46, effectively distracting them as he was ordered to do. Hitsugaya was soon hot on his trail.

“Wait, answer my question.” shouted Hitsugaya from behind Izuru. “Were you the one that did that to Central 46?”

“No, right before you arrived someone from the inside let me in.” answered Izuru truthfully.

“Who let you in?” asked Hitsugaya.

“Isn’t it obvious? By Central 46.”

“You have got to be joking. The door was unbroken.”

‘Think Izuru, think. Momo is in trouble and you are here leading Hitsugaya on a wild chase.’ Izuru thought to himself. An idea popped in his head. He had fulfilled his part of the bargain. Perhaps, now he could give Hitsugaya a hint. Hopefully it wasn’t too late for Momo.

“More importantly is this alright, Captain Hitsugaya? Instead of chasing after me shouldn’t you really be protecting Momo?”

Hitsugaya gasped and stumbled slightly.

“What the fuck are you saying? Hinamori is….”

“She’s not there. She is no longer in the 10th squad barracks.” yelled Izuru.

‘Why won’t he take the hint? I am offering him a chance to save her.’ thought Izuru.

“Captain, you put a barrier to keep people out but not to keep her in. Momo is a master of Kidou, its not that difficult for her to place a barrier around herself to hide her reiatsu. Didn’t you realize, captain? Momo was following you the entire time.

Hitsugaya face was one of absolute terror. He glanced back to his lieutenant.

“Matsumoto, can I leave him to you?”

“Go ahead, captain.” said Rangiku.

Hitsugaya didn’t need to be told twice. In a flash he was heading back towards Central 46. Izuru smiled. Skidding to a halt, Izuru had no reason to run any further. If Rangiku chose to fight him then he would defend himself.

“Why have you stopped?” asked Rangiku.

“There is no longer a need to continue.” answered Izuru.

Rangiku drew her zanpakuto. Izuru sighed. He really didn’t want to fight her.

“You don’t know do you, Rangiku. My zanpakuto‘s abilities. Perhaps, I will demonstrate for you.” said Izuru.

“Raise your head, Wabisuke.”

Izuru attacked, sparring with Kenpachi had increased his swordsmanship. Rangiku parried the attack, but that’s what he wanted anyway. With each strike of his zanpakuto, Kira effectively assured his victory.

“Kira, I don’t know what Gin has dragged you into but…”

“Please stop, Rangiku. I owed a debt and now I have repaid it. Isn’t your weapon getting a little heavy?”

Rangiku gasped as her zanpakuto crashed to the ground. Its weight had been had been doubled seven times resulting in an approximate weight of about 100kg.

“Hmph, if I cant run and attack you then I wont.” smirked Rangiku.

“Roar, Haineko.”

Once the release was obtained, Haineko’s blade dissolved into ash that flowed around the battlefield, very similar to Byakuya Kuchiki’ Senbonzakura.

‘Fuck’ thought Izuru. His weapon was not designed to fight one such as this. He had lost before the battle had even begun. Rangiku struck hard and fast, effectively incapacitating Izuru. Izuru collapsed as darkness engulfed him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Idiot.”
‘Kenpachi?’ thought Izuru through the haze.
“You know, if you want to show off your fighting skills, at least pick an opponent that doesn’t have your number” growled Kenpachi.
Izuru opened his eyes and saw his lover lying next to him in the infirmary. He was heavily bandaged and looked like he had been to hell and back.
“Kenpachi? What happened to you?”
“Mmm, I just had a battle that came close to what I feel like when I fuck you.” purred his lover.
“What?!”
“Hahaha…Nothing could ever match that, but that boy, Ichigo came pretty damn close.”
“I’m glad you are alright, Kenpachi. I was worried.” smiled Izuru, linking his fingers with the calloused ones of Kenpachi.
“Yea, looks like we both have some stories to tell.”
“Yes, I suppose we do.” smiled Izuru. Lying his head on the broad chest of his lover, Izuru listened to the heart beat that thumped. There were definitely some interesting stories to be told but at the end of the day he was within Kenpachi’s arms and that was all that mattered.
