Happiness is being with you, Taichou

This is my first fic ever so please, be gentle ^^ Okay, here we go. Time for some love between Hanatarou and Toushirou (two of my favorite characters).

-Chapter 3 - Confessions-

Hitsugaya went from his office towards a small park with a large beautiful lake; a place he frequently visited when he needed to think. Night was starting to fall as the sun set further and further towards the horizon. Seireitei was very quiet, so quiet in fact that you could easily hear your own thoughts. This was something that plagued the young captain. Right now, all he wanted was to clear his mind and think of a way to face Hanatarou in the morning. A gentle breeze crossed the courtyard Hitsugaya was crossing, gently stroking his hair. This made the captain feel a bit more at ease, in some way. Maybe this would work out somehow. Maybe…

Hanatarou made his way between the buildings of central Seireitei, making sure he wouldn’t be detected by anyone. Especially the brutes in the 11’Th squad who amused themselves by taunting and humiliating him on an almost daily basis. It looked safe though; Seireitei was almost empty. At least Hanatarou couldn’t see anyone else. He stopped briefly to watch the setting sun. It was beautiful. He had loved watching the sun and feeling its warmth for as long it could remember. But now he quickly continued since it reminded him of how warm Hitsugaya had been… Fighting back the tears forming in his eyes, he continued walking.

The white haired boy soon arrived at his favorite spot in all of Seireitei; A park situated on a hill with a big lake in the middle and a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. Hitsugaya loved to sit down and think in highly situated places. It gave him the peace he needed. This park had given him time to think many times the past years. He slumped down on a grassy knoll overlooking the eastern parts of Seireitei. The sun had set even further and covered the town in an orange haze. This was the time of day that the captain liked the most. Though he would probably never admit that to anyone. God forbid he should lose his authority and seem like a normal person.

After a rather long walk, Hanatarou arrived at a place he had never been before; Suddenly a park appeared in front of him. He thought he saw a pond or something so he decided to enter and check it out. Hanatarou liked parks. They were tranquil and often filled with those small, oh so cute squirrels. He giggled inside at the thought of furry and brown squirrels jumping between trees. Upon entering the park it first seemed like a normal place, until something caught his eyes. Something white.

While watching the town, Hitsugaya had heard something moving behind him and quickly turned around, only to see Hanatarou with a slightly confused expression on his face. ‘He always looks so clueless. How sweet…’ Hitsugaya thought, a bit surprised by his own thoughts. He hadn’t actually expected to meet anyone here, at least not Hanatarou. Nevertheless, he decided to make good use of the situation and go talk to the other boy right away.

Hanatarou was surprised to say the least, to see his new Taichou here. He didn’t really know how to react. Instinctively, he wanted to run away, but he pulled himself together and started walking towards Hitsugaya. Maybe they could exchange a few words at least. Hey, being fired by your boss requires a small conversation at least…

The boys stopped when they were a few feet away from each other. The one to break the silence was Hitsugaya.

“Hanatarou, I, uh, ehm… I think we need to talk. Could we sit down for a moment?” he asked pointing to a bench by the lake.

“Eh, of course, Taichou. After you.” Hanatarou replied cautiously, not knowing what would come next. They went and sat down on the small bench which was surprisingly comfortable. The setting sun reflected in the water and the trees stood majestically around the lake, gently moving in the breeze still traversing Seireitei.

“About what happened today” Hitsugaya started.

“I know what you are going to say, Taichou” Hanatarou continued, certain that he was in for a good scolding. “My behavior was completely unacceptable and I understand if you wish to fire me, or even have me expelled from the Gotei 13” he added, holding back tears.

“But, but, but I kissed you!” Hitsugaya said surprised. “Why would I hold you responsible for that?” he added.

“That may be so, but since you outrank med by so much I thought…” Hanatarou replied when his voice started to crack. He was going to burst out in tears any moment now if this continued. “Besides, I did kiss you back, Taichou” he said.

“That’s my point” Hitsugaya said abruptly. “I, I, um… Hanatarou, did you, eh, like what I did to you before?” the captain said, blushing heavily while he said it.

“Eh? Like it? What do you mean, Taichou?” Hanatarou answered with another question, turning red at the same time.

“What I’m trying to say is that I have never felt like that before, while kissing someone” Hitsugaya said. “Honestly, I loved it. I’ve never felt that good before” he said being more honest now than he had ever been to anyone in his whole life.

“Really, Taichou? I had no idea” Hanatarou replied, blushing heavily. ‘He liked it too! Or is he just testing me? I don’t know! What should I do?’ Hanatarou wrestled with his mind while trying to maintain a normal dialogue with Hitsugaya. Finally, he decided to be honest. “Well, actually, I liked it too, Taichou” he said. “I really didn’t know I felt like this about you, Taichou. Though it would seem that I do” he continued.

Hitsugaya felt an enormous inner bliss spread when he heard Hanatarou say he liked the kiss too. He felt so happy, in fact, that he decided to go all out with the honesty. “Hanatarou, if I’m going to be totally honest, I think I’m starting to fall for you. At least I’m sure I have a huge crush on you” he said while looking away slightly, embarrassed by his heavy blushing.

Hanatarou thought he was going to die! The single most beautiful boy in all of Seireitei, heck in all of Soul Society, just confessed his love to him. This was too much to handle. But when the lid is of the box, all of the secrets must come out (no pun intended!). “Taichou, I think I’m sort of in love with you too. If that is inappropriate, I will of course leave right now and never bother you again” he said. His sense of doing the right thing had spun out of control.

“No, don’t leave!” Hitsugaya panicked when Hanatarou talked about leaving. “I want you here with me. And one more thing. Please, call me Toushirou” he added in a gentle voice.

Hanatarou turned so red he could hide in a dumpster full of tomatoes. “Well, um, okay, Toushirou-sama…”

“No, please. Just Toushirou” he almost begged.

“Um, Toushirou, I love you” Hanatarou said, making the smaller boy want to cry with happiness.

“Hanatarou, I love you too” Toushirou said back to Hanatarou who looked like he had just won the lottery.

While the sun set behind the horizon in Seireitei, Yamada Hanatarou and Hitsugaya Toushirou shared their second kiss. This time not so much a kiss of passion, but a kiss of happiness. A kiss celebrating new found love.

Needless to say kissing would not suffice for the two. As any young person, they both had a lot of hormones rushing through their bodies, craving attention, awaking desire deep within. They both could feel this as they finished the kiss. This time, Hanatarou broke the silence.

“Toushirou, my home isn’t too far away. Would you like to come with me” Hanatarou said with the newly awoken libido rushing through his veins and glittering in his eyes.

“I would like that. I would like that a lot” Toushirou replied, he too in the mood for something more than just kisses…
