After the hectic morning, Ed and Toushirou had gotten dressed into clean clothes. Ed was wearing his usual clothes and Toushirou was wearing his newly cleaned and sewn Shihakushou. Ed looked oddly at him, and Toushirou had noticed.
"Oi, what are you looking at?" Ed looked startled by the fact that he'd been caught.
"O-oh... Sorry it's just I've never seen clothes like that before, and why do you have 10 on your jacket?" Toushirou looked blankly at him
"It's because I'm a shinigami." Ed looked confused.
"A shinigami? But you would have to be..." Toushirou finished his sentence for him
"Dead." Ed nodded
"Well yeah. Wait, you mean you're a ghost?" For once Toushirou didn't know what to say.
"Well in some ways, yes."
"Then how come me and Winry and Al can see you?" Toushirou frowned.
"I'm actualy wondering that myself." Ed blinked
"Wait, so does that mean you don't know what alchemy is?" Toushirou gave him a confused look.
"Alchemy? What's that?" Ed scratched his head
"Um, there's alot to explain but I can show you" Ed stood up and looked around at the nearly bare room. He found a flower pot from Winry's side table and dropped it on the ground. It shatered to oblivion. Toushirou's eyes widened.
"That girl is going to kill you!" Ed grinned at him.
"Who Winry? Nah, I can fix it" Toushirou looked down at it.
"With all those pieces? I don't think so!" Toushirou looked suspiciously at Ed's widening grin.
"Ah, but that is why we use Alchemy" Ed then clapped his hands and put them just over the broken pieces. A bright blue light came from Ed's hands, making Toushirou shield his eyes. Toushirou lowered his arm in a second: the blue light was already gone. He let out a gasp as he looked at the perfectly shiny and unbroken flower pot.
"Wha-how did you-?" Toushirou stuttered. Ed looked so proud of himself.
"As, I told you before, Alchemy" Toushirou gaped more
"Amazing..." Ed smirked.
"Glad you think so" Toushirou looked at him
"Does everybody here know Alchemy?" Ed tapped his chin.
"No, I don't think everybody knows" Toushirou lifted an eyebrow.
"Then where do people like you go?" Ed copied his exression.
"Like us, well, there are alot of people who know Alchemy, it's just that I'm the only one I've ever heard of who doesnt have to use Transmutation circles." Toushirou still looked confused
"Transmutation circles?" Ed rubbed the back of his head.
"I'll tell you later we have to go to the State Military H.Q. and meet Commander Asshole" Toushirou smirked
"Is he really that bad?" Ed twitched
"He'll say one thing and youll already hate the arrogant bastard" Toushirou rolled his eyes and muttered "perfect" under his breath "Anyways, we better get going. Hey Al! You ready to go?" Al came out of the kitchen.
"Yes brother, I'm ready" Toushirou looked at him. He found t strange- he had the voice of a child, yet was really a giant suit of armour. Al caught him staring "Uhm, is something wrong?" Al asked, a little comfortable
"You're not human" Toushirou told him flatly Ed's eyes widened as Al stood completely erect.
"H-how did you know?" Toushirou looked at him closely
"One: your voice is child-like, so there is no way you could be much older than Ed... well, maybe a year." Ed twitched.
"Oi!" Toushirou ignored the blonde
"And two: the way you walk is too hollow"
"Wow... you're really smart" Toushirou shrugged it off
"Anyway lets go" Toushirou and Al nodded. As they were about to walk out, Ed looked at Toushirou "I wouldn't
bring the sword along; people will be a little suspicious" Toushirou frowned
"I'm not leaving Hyourinmaru behind. Anyways, people shouldnt be able to see me." Ed snorted
"You named your sword?" Toushirou sighed.
"I'll explain later" Ed rolled his eyes
"Whatever. We better go before the train leaves" Toushiro blinked
"What's a train?" Ed stared at him in disbelief
"You're kidding right!?" Toushirou glared at him. Ed blinked several times.
"Oh right!" Al looked at the two boys.
"What?" Al asked, confused
"Nothing" The boys said unanimously as they carried on through the door
"Hey! Wait for me!" Al shouted, running after them.
