The Problem

Chapter Two: The Problem

My body continued to sting even after the nurse tenderly cleaned my arm, leg, and face from all the asphalt dust from my scrapes. She bandaged me up pretty securely, making sure the antibiotics she’d put on me would work efficiently. A few bruises had formed along my hands and side; aftermath from when I had fallen.

Through the rest of the school day, I limped to classes, as it still hurt to put pressure onto my leg. I cursed mentally with each step, praying the day would just hurry up and end so I could go home. At least there I would be in peace. That is, until Rukia came over.

I groaned to myself. Damn that Rukia. This had to all be because of her. Because of her I couldn’t focus on anything. Everywhere I turned, there she was. It was like she was mocking me. I swear, there must have been a neon flashing sign on her screaming ‘Uryuu! Look at me!’ It was bad enough I had to spend the last class of the day with her. She sat behind me with Kurosaki to her left. I did my best to ignore them, feeling the glare coming at me from the fiery ginger haired boy. Seriously, what was his problem today?

The hour long class droned on forever. I ignored the whispers behind me and continued to write down notes on my paper. That was until I heard a sharp ‘no’ behind me. I slowed in my writing to listen.

“Why the hell not?” a gruff whisper came from Kurosaki.

“Because I have things to do tonight,” Rukia whispered back.

“Like what? You’re never too busy for me.”

“I’ve got to study for my math exam. I’m borderline failing the class.” That answered why she needed me to tutor her.

“Since when?” I heard him hiss at her.

“Since the season started. I’ve had barely enough time to finish homework assignments.”

“Then I’ll help you with them.”

“Last time you ‘helped’ I had to spend lunch finishing up the assignment.”

“Then we’ll actually work on homework this time.”

“I’m sorry Ichigo, but, you’re not in the same math class as I am…”

“So you’re saying I’d be too stupid to understand?” I nearly cracked a smile when I heard that question.

“No. I’m saying you wouldn’t be able to help me study when we’re not in the same class.” I heard him scoff.

“Fine. Whatever.”

That was the end of that conversation. Behind me, I heard a quiet sigh as well as the scratching of a pencil frantically writing down notes. I wanted to glance back at her, but, I thought better of it. I didn’t need to give Kurosaki a reason to want to hurt me.

By the time the final bell rang, I was more than ready to get out of there. As I was putting things in my bag, a blue pencil rolled my way. I lifted a thin brow and cast my line of sight towards Rukia, who was reaching for it. I smirked a moment, picking it up and handing it to her. As I placed the pencil in her hand, she in turn shoved a thin slip of paper into mine. What was this? Middle School?

I chuckled to myself, shaking my head as I slipped the paper into my shirt’s pocket and continued putting my things away. Standing, Kurosaki brushed passed me, bumping into my shoulder. I in turn winced as he hit the shoulder I had jarred in gym class.

“Watch where you’re going, nerd,” he hissed at me. I lifted a brow at him and didn’t say a word.

Sighing to myself, I walked to my locker to gather my things to take home for the evening. I made sure to grab my math book, shoving it into my bag along with my other notebooks for my other assignments.

Walking home, I remembered about the note that Rukia had given me. I smiled softly, pulling the slip out of my pocket. I unfolded the slip to read it. Instantly, I smiled.

”See you tonight. Be ready for me. ~Rukia ♥“

Refolding the note, I slipped it back into my pocket and continued on my way home. Indeed, I was going to be ready for her.

It was a quarter to six by the time I finally started to feel nervous. It had been a long time since I had spent any alone time with Rukia. Here I was, scrambling around straightening up an already straightened sitting area, wiping down an already spotless coffee table, and adjusting picture frames that didn’t need to be adjusted.

I nearly jumped out of my skin when I heard the soft knocking on my door. Composing myself, I moved to open the door. Standing there, wearing the girl’s gym tee and a pair of crimson sweatpants, was Rukia. Seeing me, she smiled brightly.

“Hey,” she says softly, shifting on her feet some.

“Hey,” I answered, smiling in return. “Come on in.” I moved out of the way for her, letting her come in. She stepped in, slipping off her shoes at the door. “I’m glad you could make it.” Again, she smiled at me.

“I’m glad I could as well.” As she stepped into the room more, I shut the door finally. “Hey… do you mind if before we start I could take a shower?” She looked to me again. “I’m feeling a little crusty from practice and I’m sure I smell none too pleasant.”

“Ahh…” I made my mind grasp around what she was saying. She wanted a shower. In my bathroom. This would mean she would be naked in my shower. I blushed at the thought. “Sure, no problem. The towels are-“

“-still in the bottom closet in the bathroom?” She asked as she started towards the hall, looking back at me.

“Y-yeah.”

“Okay.” She smiled, winking. And with that, she had disappeared down the hall.

I continued to stand there a moment, taking in the conversation we just had. I tried not to think about it as I took a seat on my couch. I heard the water start running, which in turn made my mind wander right back to what it had thought about before. Rukia. Rukia naked. I groaned as I felt my pants tighten just slightly.

’Get a grip, Ishida.’ I told myself. ’Do not think about her in your shower. Think of something else. Think of unappealing things. Curdled milk. Old meat. Old people having sex. Sex. Rukia naked. Goddammit!’

I groaned again, my head falling back against the back of my couch. This was not going to go well. I sighed once again before standing up. I moved to my kitchen, picking up a glass and filling it with water. I took a few sips, trying to calm my body down. The coolness of the water worked a bit, clearing my mind from its current turmoil.

When I could think straight again, I wandered back to the sitting room and sat down on the couch and tugged my book to me, opening it to the page our assignment was on. I read over the page and reached for my calculator, only to find that it was not there with me. I cursed mentally, rolling my eyes. It had to be on my desk in my room.

I sighed as I stood, making my way down the hall to my bedroom. Inside, I moved to my desk and picked up my calculator before turning to leave again. I could hear the movement in my bathroom, the way the water sounded as it hit the tiles after it ricocheted off of Rukia’s body.

That’s when I heard it. The soft pants of breath over the water flowing. Was she okay? I frowned as I moved towards the door, ready to ask if she was okay. Then I heard the soft moans. It sounded as if she was trying to be quiet. I quickly blushed and stepped back from the door. Turning, I went to leave the room finally, not wanting to stick around like a pervert. As I got to the door, I heard a slightly louder moan, almost sounding strangled.

“Uryuu…”

The word was crystal clear as it flowed into my ear. My eyes widened. I could feel the tightness in my throat. She did not just call my name. I had to have been imagining things. It had to be that monster in my head making me hear things I wanted to hear. There was a soft coo that I heard followed by a sweet giggle before the water turned off. Blushing even more, I left my room and quickly made it back to the sitting room.

I sat down, pulling my book to me again to begin working on math problems, trying to get my mind off of things. Kuchiki Rukia had not just been in my shower, masturbating, and saying my name. That was down right impossible. I wrote down problems and began working them out, and checked them in the back of the book to make sure I was doing them right.

“Hey,” a soft voice purred behind me. I turned to look and nearly fainted seeing her standing there. Her hair was wet still, a few droplets falling from the wet strands. What startled me the most was the fact she was standing there with just the towel wrapped around her body. I felt the blush creep along my cheeks then. “Could you hand me my bag? I forgot I left it in here.” She smiled at me.

“S-sure.” I mumbled, moving to stand, setting my book down to the side. I moved to the gym bag she’d left by the door, picking it up, and taking it to her. “Here you go, Rukia.”

“Thanks.” She smiled again, reaching out to take the bag. “You’re so sweet.” We stood there a moment, just looking at each other. I had half a mind to grab her and pull her to me and just kiss her and get it over with, but, I refrained from doing so. There was something in those navy hues that drew me in, as if they wanted me to do what I desired to do. I shook the thought from my head. There was no way she’d want me. I wasn’t special. When I didn’t make any move, I saw a hint of disappointment in her eyes, even as she lifted her hand to my cheek. She was still warm from the shower. “I’ll be right back,” she cooed, turning to head back to my room.

I watched her as she walked, the slight bounce in her step. When had she started that? She paused at my door and looked back at me. I blushed again. She then grinned and winked before disappearing into my dark room. It was as if she had wanted me to follow her. I shook my thoughts again.

Sighing in frustration, I moved to sit again on the couch. This was going to be a long night.

I sat there all of about five minutes before Rukia returned, mostly clothed. She wore her uniform shirt, top half mostly unbuttoned, leaving enough for the imagination. My eyes watched her as she walked in front of me. I could see the black shorts she wore, that were a little loose around her hips. Wait a second…

“Aren’t those… mine?” I asked in barely a choked whisper. She looked at me and grinned as she set her bag down.

“Yeah… I didn’t want to put those sweats back on and I honestly didn’t want to wear the skirt, and forgot to pack extra clothes. You don’t mind do you?” She asks softly, looking at herself and then back at me. “I found the smallest ones I could find.”

“No, no… it’s fine.” I smiled softly, feeling that blush on my cheeks. ’Damn… She’s wearing my boxers, and I’m fine with it. She doesn’t look half bad in them either. Dammit! Get out of the gutter!’ I was brought from my thoughts when I saw her hovering right in front of me. I slowly looked up, my eyes scanning along her frame before looking her in the face. “So… What did you need help on in the class?” I had to force the question out from the nervousness of her being so close. She smiled again, a devilish grin creeping along her features.

“I don’t need any help,” she answered just as calmly as she could. I stared at her in disbelief. She bent down, pulling the book, notebook, and calculator from my lap and hands.

“Wait… what…? What do you mean you don’t need any help?”

“I mean exactly what I said. I don’t need any help.” She laughed softly. “I have an A in the class.”

“But, why did you-“

“Ask for tutoring? Isn’t it obvious?” With that, she pushed me back against the couch and slowly moved to crawl onto my lap, a knee on either side of my hips. Very carefully, she set her weight down on me. I saw her expression as she brushed against my little ‘problem’ and watched as she smiled as she brushed against it again deliberately. “Think about it, Uryuu… Who came in second place, just barely, back in junior high in the school’s Math-A-Thon?”

“Y-you did,” I stammered. I bit back a groan as she brushed against me again. She leaned in a little closer, resting her forehead against mine, our breaths mingling at our closeness.

“Right. Do you really think that I would lose my math skills that easily?” I saw her smirk, even as she brought her hand up to gently caress my cheek, minding the tender scrape from the fall in gym class.

“I… I don’t know what to think,” I whispered. My heart was racing, my hands were shaking, and I’ll be damned if it wasn’t getting harder to breathe.

“Then don’t think at all. Just feel.”

With that, she closed in the distance between us, her mouth crashing against mine. I was startled to say the least. Why didn’t I catch on before? I should have known better than to believe she needed tutoring. Rukia, of all people, wasn’t like the others. She was extremely intelligent. She always had been. In a way, she was like my rival when it came to grades. Of course she’d still be second to me. If not tied at first. And here she was, straddling my lap, kissing me.

Kissing me! A little hesitant at first, I slowly began to respond, angling my head just right to return her kiss. My shaking hands lifted to her back to pull her closer, sharing that remaining heat that was still on her from the shower. I felt her shiver against me.

She pulled back some to look down at me, staring into my eyes. I could feel her shaking too. Was she nervous? She smiled at me, lifting her hand and pulling my glasses from my face. I blinked at the loss of them, feeling as she moved to set them on the table so they wouldn’t get broken.

“Rukia…” I started, holding her back some before she could resume in kissing me. She successfully landed one on me before stopping.

“Hmm…?” She didn’t seem to really want to listen.

“Should we be doing this?” I asked.

“Probably not,” she answered, moving to kiss me again.

“What about-“

“Don’t… say his name,” she cut me off, looking at me. “I’m here because I want to be here.” She smiled softly, that shaking hand touching my cheek again.

“You’re shaking.”

“Cold.”

Without even thinking, I stood, lifting her in my arms as I did so. Instinctively, she wrapped her arms and legs around me. I couldn’t help but laugh at the situation. Leaving everything in the sitting area, I carried her back to my bedroom, nudging the half open door with my foot. I didn’t bother with the lights as I moved to the bed, resting her down on it. Before I could climb on with her, she stopped me with a kiss. I responded back eagerly.

I heard her giggle as she tugged me down. I yelped and fell to the side to keep from crushing her. In an instant, she was above me, straddling me again. I scrambled back some, resting more fully and comfortably on the bed. She followed, understanding the movement. As if she were reading my mind, she reached back, pulling the comforter up and over us both.

“Better?” I asked softly. I could still feel her shaking. I’m sure I was as well.

“Much,” she answered with a grin. I laughed, pulling her into another kiss.

This time, when I sighed, it was out of happiness. This would be a long night… and I was going to enjoy it.
