Disclaimer:
I do not own Bleach, nor the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Chapter 5
Thank you to all who reviewed. I wasn't too sure about the last chapter but as I said, it was important to the story line. Much thanks goes to Solaris for her help and also to Blue for her help with the second part of this chapter.
I don't own Bleach.
Chapter 5
Kenpachi sat at his desk, his head bowed in disbelief, listening to the Forth Division Captain rip into him about the night prior.
"You raped her, Kenpachi. As of right now, Orihime is so torn that even her own powers couldn't heal her. Hell, even my most powerful spells didn't make a bit of difference. And you being drunk just made it worse. I know you weren't thinking but now.."
Kenpachi looked up. "I'm a fucking idiot. I should have known with the way she was acting this morning. What can I do?"
"For one, your not going to have sex for six weeks or longer. You could damage her beyond repair and to the point that she will never have children. Two, your going to be supportive through this. She doesn't want to press charges and she is in that right, but she won't because for some unknown stupid reason the woman loves you. It better not happen again, Zaraki or you will answer to me."
"I understand, Captain. Thank you."
Retsu sighed. "I know I am not being as hard on you as I should be but do us all a favor and don't drink that much again, especially when she is around. It will take her some time to get over this. You need to remember that. Allow her to come to you. I will see her in six weeks for a checkup."
"I'll make sure she keeps it."
"See that you do.", Retsu said as she stomped out the door.
Ikkaku walked in the office and looked at Kenpachi. "Captain?"
"I raped her.", he whispered.
"Huh?"
"I raped my wife last night. I don't even remember it."
Ikkaku sighed and rubbed his hand over his head. "Damn. I don't know what to say."
"Don't say nothing. I.", he took a breath. "I better go talk to her. Can you keep Yachiru busy?"
"Sure."

Kenpachi found Orihime sitting in the gardens. "Orihime?"
He saw how she stiffened before she turned with a smile. "Yes, husband?"
"Don't call me that. I don't have the right. Captain Unohana told me what I did. I don't remember it but that doesn't make it right. If you want to move into another room, I'll understand. I won't touch you or even look at you."
Orihime shook her head. "I can't move. People talk."
Kenpachi frowned. "It's fine. Wives and husbands share separate quarters all the time. You should be angry with me, you should hate me. I think it would be better on both of us if you do move into another room. I deserve the hatred and the feelings you have. This is one thing you just can't forget and forgive, Orihime. I will live with it and when you are ready, you can return. But only when you are ready."
Orihime dropped her head with a nod. "I understand. I don't hate you, I should but I don't. I'll go and move my things. Don't say your sorry, it won't help at all."
Kenpachi nodded and turned, going back into the office.

That night, he returned to his bedroom and sat on the bed with a sigh. His room felt so empty and lonely now but it was his fault. Orihime had picked the room, right beside Yachiru's in case the young girl needed her in the night. He got undressed and slid between his sheets, his mind still trying to grasp how he had been so stupid the night before. He knew by Orihime's actions that Unohana hadn't lied to him. He rolled over and closed his eyes, searching the barracks. He felt Orihime's spirit pressure and his daughter's also. In his heart, he prayed Orihime would forgive him but his mind fought back, saying she never would.
Orihime laid in bed, her own mind going a mile a minute. She had gotten some pamphlets from Captain Unohana and had read them. She sighed as she turned towards the wall. She was doing this for Yachiru, and yes she loved Kenpachi but she couldn't bring herself to hate him like he wanted. She would never hate him. He had been drinking but he hadn't done it on purpose. She could tell his was very upset with himself. It would take time but she would get over it, she just hoped it wouldn't be too late for their marriage. For the first time in her life, she felt loved and if he didn't love her, he wouldn't feel as bad as he did. She closed her eyes and saw the haunted look in her husband's as he spoke to her that day. He was in just as much pain as she was.

A few hours later, Kenpachi got up and dressed in a robe, going down the hall and out into the gardens. He sat at a tree, that was close to Orihime's room, without even noticing. He had been sitting there a while when ever he glanced over his shoulder to see Ikkaku standing there.
"Might as well join me, Ikkaku.", Kenpachi gruffly said.
Ikkaku walked down and sat next to his captain. "It's sorta late for you to be up, isn't it?"
Kenpachi leaned his head back, staring up at the moon. "Things on my mind, couldn't sleep."
Ikkaku just nodded and looked up at the sky, knowing that Kenpachi would talk to him when he wanted to.
"Was it worth it?", Kenpachi suddenly questioned.
"Was what worth it?"
"This whole mess. This marriage. At first it was just to keep Yachiru and even then she gave up everything to move here to keep her with me. We hadn't even talked about sex or kids or whatever. She wanted to marry me but in all truth, she was the final one that would. She said she would as a last resort. I mean sure that one chick would have married me but now I am with Orihime and I raped her last night. I know that Yachiru was worth it but now I find myself thinking that maybe she would have been better off with another family. I just proved to Orihime that the rumors of me was true. I'm nothing but a brute. Someone without feelings of who he hurts as long as I get what I want. I wanted this marriage because of Yachiru but now I think it is because I was scared of being alone again. Now thanks to my actions both Orihime and myself are stuck in a loveless marriage. And because of me, even if divorce was able to be gotten in the society, no other man would want her. Maybe it would be better if I sent her and Yachiru to the real world to live. Away from me and what I could do."
Ikkaku shook his head. "That wouldn't work, Captain. All of Orihime's friends turned their backs on her when they found out about the marriage. She has no one now except for us. You say she doesn't love you but obviously she does. She could have pressed charges against you, husband or not but she didn't and refuses not to. She could have already left but she is still here. She was willing to sleep in your room with you and not take another one, even though you forced her. She is willing to try for this marriage. Hell, If that ain't love, I don't know what is. I also heard that she didn't want Captain Unohana to come to you. Just give her time, I am sure that she will get through this somehow. She's strong. It's just going to take time. Give her space and if she wants to talk, talk to her. Don't throw this chance away. I'm gonna go lay down. You give it some more thought."
"Thanks, Ikkaku."
"Any time, Captain."
Kenpachi waited a few more minutes and then went back to bed, thinking on what his third seat said. He would give her all the time in the world. What was done, couldn't be undone and she had healing to do. Now if he could just concentrate on getting himself back on track. He closed his eyes and went to sleep, unknowing that Orihime had awoken and heard every word that was said.
A/N: I know this was short but I promise the next one will be longer. This was a hard chapter to write and I wanted to focus on their feelings of what had happened. Sorry it took so long to update, I sorta had a case of writer's block. Hopefully it will go smoother now.
