The Move

Disclaimer: I don’t own Bleach and I’m poor so I obviously don’t make any money from it.

AN: I couldn’t resist adding some Kira to this chapter. I like Kira because he seems so gentle. I’m really sad that I’m eventually gonna have to hurt him but I hope to make it up to him eventually. I have even played around with the thought of a Kira X ???? story after I complete this one that will be a sequel. I’ll just have to wait and see where my muse takes me.

Yakumo: *Blush* thanks I figured I needed to show Byakuya some attention seeing as while writing this fic I’m following in love with Gin. (T.T)[ I’m sorry Byakuya please forgive my wondering eyes. You really are first in my heart.] I don’t know how hot anyone would rate that little scene but since I’ve never written sex before I wanted to start off slow I only hope I didn’t stick it in to early.

Warning: This story is Yaoi which means boy x boy.

Chapter Four

Gin bit his lip to prevent a whimper of pain from escaping. The move from the Fourth Division Headquarters was proving to be excruciatingly painful. Unohana-taicho had placed Gin inside Minazuki’s shikai form in order to transfer him to the Kuchiki Estate. Though the healing reiatsu of Minazuki’s form eased his journey, the sudden movements of the trip caused pain to constantly radiate through his chest.

‘I knew we should have fucking waited a few days.’ grouched Shinso. Shinso had been surprisingly quiet since the episode with the bathroom. Though usually loud and somewhat unpredictable, Shinso knew that when his master set his mind up to something there was no pulling him away which in part was one of the reasons he was laying here injured.

‘Ya know as well as I that I couldn’t stay in that tiny room a day longer.’ answered Gin to his zanpakuto. Teeth clenched as Minazuki’s body dipped as she hit an air pocket. ‘How much longer is it gonna take’ Gin thought to himself.

Finally, Gin felt Minazuki land and exhaled a sigh of relief. Minazuki extended her tongue and slid Gin onto the stretcher that two Fourth Squad members had waiting. When he was settled on the stretcher, the Fourth Squad Shinigami carried him into the manor with Unohana-taicho following not far behind speaking quietly with a few of the servants.

Gin was carried into a spacious guest room and he gave a sigh of relief. Although not completely claustrophobic, Gin didn’t do well in tight places. That alone is why Shinso allowed the move so early. Staying in that tiny hospital room would have slowed the healing not encouraged it.

Gin gasped in pain as he was lowered onto the futon. Making sure to keep his grin in place, Gin assisted the Fourth Division healers in getting into a comfortable position. Unohana-taicho entered the room and smiled at Gin’s grin knowing full well the pain he was in. Nodding slightly to her subordinates, Retsu settled on her knees beside him. Bowing low, the two healers left the room and began the trek back to headquarters.

“I’m sorry, Gin.” spoke Retsu “I know the trip was painful so I’m going to put you to sleep for the rest of the day as you body recovers from the trip. Before I do though I would like to introduce you to the servant that has been assigned to you.” Retsu gestured towards the doorway.
There stood a young man that looked no older than 20. Pitch black hair was cut short against his face and crystal blue eyes seemed to hold secrets older than his age depicted. Dressed in a simple but well made yukata he seemed so comfortable in his own skin one would never have guessed him to be a servant.

“This is Toya, he is normally Kuchiki-taicho’s personal servant but he has volunteered to care for you as well as Byakuya. The household majordomo approved of this stating that Toya is the best person for this duty since he is so meticulous.” informed Retsu.

The young appearing servant bowed low. ‘I look forward to caring for you Ichimaru-sama. Please do not hesitate to call on me should you require my services.” said Toya. With a final bow, Toya left the room to tend to his duties.

“Retsu,” Gin began “If ya don’t mind me askin’, what became of Tousen?” Although Gin rarely saw eye to eye with the dark skinned former taicho, he knew that Tousen Kaname had only the best intentions at heart in his decision to join Aizen. Sadly, the ends justifies the means attitude of Tousen never set fully well with Gin, ironically enough. Since Gin had sold his soul for the sake of the Soul Society, it pained him to see others do the same knowing full well the cost of doing so.

“Well,” began Retsu, stopping to think for a moment “his body was not found after the battles had ended. And it is doubtful that he would be completely destroyed in a fight. It is my personal belief that he is still alive somewhere.”

Gin sighed. Tousen was strong he would lay low for a while and then decide on a course of action. Gin only hoped that course did not lead them to face off as he was forced to do with Aizen. ‘I have no plans to allow another zanpakuto to skewer me’ thought Gin with a smirk.

‘You better not, you grinning fool, cuz I have no intention of saving your sorry ass again.” came the reply from Shinso. Though, they both knew that was a lie. Shinso would save Gin every time if it was in his power. What were partners for if not to watch the other’s back.

Retsu’s hands began to glow with a gentle blue color. Gin felt warmth and comfort spread through his entire being. His eyes began to droop and his body to relax. Drawn into the comfort that sleep offered, Gin allowed himself to be pulled into the welcoming abyss.

Retsu smiled and lifted Shinso from the bedside and placed the wakizashi
upon a stand in the room. “Watch over him, Shinso.” said Retsu as she turned and made her way back to her office.

Kira Izuru stepped into the office of Division Three that up until a year ago he had shared with his taicho, Ichimaru Gin. The large desk that had sat empty for too long would once again be occupied by its rightful taicho. Kira thought back to a conversation with Ichimaru-taicho shortly before the beginning of the rebellion of Aizen.

*Flashback*

“Kira, I’m gonna head to the gate and send those intruders packin’ ” stated Gin to his fukutaicho with a wide grin that spread from ear to ear. Tucking his hands in the sleeves of his haori as he began to make his way towards the west gate where the intruders were spotted.

“Taicho, let me go with you. We don’t know who they are, it could be dangerous.” Kira exclaimed as he placed a hand on his taicho’s arm to halt him. Gin turned towards Kira.

“Are ya worried about me, Kira?” asked the grinning man. “I promise I’ll take my Kira with me next time I leave to go somewhere.” And with those words, Gin flickered away as he shunpo towards the gate. Kira’s eyes widened at the joking comment from his taicho.

‘My Kira?’ Kira thought, a blush staining his cheeks. ‘Could Ichimaru-taicho actually feel something for me.’

“Taicho, please be careful and come back to me.” sighed Kira as he turned to enter the office and start on the paperwork.

*End Flash*

Kira slumped into his chair. The pain from watching his taicho leave with Aizen had almost crippled him. ‘You had promised you would take me with you the next time.’ thought Kira as he reminisced about the day Aizen defected taking two taicho with him. ‘But now you are back and this time I wont let you leave me alone again.’
Smiling slightly, Kira began to tidy the office and get it ready for when Ichimaru-taicho returned. Kira had been adamant about leaving the desk exactly as Gin had, much to the disgruntlement of the cleaning staff. It had gotten to the point that Kira had refused to allow anyone but himself to clean the office he shared with his taicho.

Kira also kept Ichimaru-taicho’s small but comfortable apartment even going so far as to pay the rent in order to prevent his possessions from being destroyed. Many days Kira would go and sit in the cozy sitting room and weep for his lost taicho. Never believing for a moment that he would be gone forever.

‘Oh, that reminds me I will have to clean the apartment before long so it will be ready for when Ichimaru-taicho is well enough.’ thought Kira as he dusted the office and refilled the ink wells, humming a happy tune as he prepared for the return of his taicho.

Byakuya stood gracefully and placed the last of his paperwork in a bin for one of his subordinates to deliver to Division One. Taking Senbonzakura from her stand and securing her at his waist, Byakuya strolled out of his office and towards his home. The day had gone surprisingly smooth. After a sparring session with Renji, which greatly eased the tension he had regarding the previous night’s fantasy, Byakuya had been able to once again concentrate on the issues at hand.

Unohana-taicho had visited him shortly after settling Gin at his home and informed him of the status of the taicho. Pleased that Gin was resting comfortably at his home, Byakuya and Retsu had conversed about the grinning taicho’s recovery. Byakuya was surprised to learn that Toya had agreed to care for the injured man. When Hisana had become ill, Toya refused to leave her side, caring for her until her death. That the servant would volunteer so readily to care for Ichimaru was baffling.

‘Perhaps he is finally coming to terms with her death.’ though Byakuya as he entered his home and was greeted buy Tiran, whom informed him of the daily events as he escorted him towards the dining room.

“Thank you, Tiran.” said Byakuya as he gracefully took his seat at the table and began to eat. ‘Dinner has been lonely lately.’ mused Byakuya as he glanced at the table that was empty save for him. ‘Or perhaps it is I who am lonely.’ Byakuya quelled that direction of his thoughts and returned to his meal.

Once finished, Byakuya turned to a servant. “Please bring Toya to me.”

“Hai, Kuchiki-sama.” the servant bowed and left to complete the task he was assigned.

A few moments later, a light knock upon the door signaled the arrival of Toya.

“Enter.“ commanded Byakuya. The door slid open and Toya bowed low to his lord and awaited instructions.

“Toya, I understand you requested to be the one to care for Ichimaru-taicho.” Byakuya began as he took a sip of his tea, taking care to keep his steel colored eyes devoid of emotion.

“Hai, Kuchiki-sama.” Toya answered.

“Do you understand the duties that will be required of you in undertaking his care. His injuries are grave and extremely painful. He will require constant supervision and care for the next few weeks.” Byakuya looked upon his servant stoically.

“Hai, Kuchiki-sama. Please allow me to care for Ichimaru-sama. I will make sure he has the best care.” pleaded Toya. Something in his eyes pulled at Byakuya’s heart. ‘He blames himself for Hisana.’ Byakuya thought. The slight widening of his eyes the only indication of this revelation. Byakuya quickly clamped down on the rising emotion.

“As you wish.” Byakuya nodded and took a sip of his tea. “You may return to your duties.” With a low bow, Toya left the room happily to check on his new charge.

Byakuya smiled and left the table and made his way to his room. After finishing his nightly routine, Byakuya settled into his futon and was lulled to sleep by the night sounds. ‘Tomorrow is looking up.’ thought the nobleman as he drifted to sleep.
