Crush Or Lust

Chapter 7


It had been two months since Karin's false alarm. Isshin knew that she was upset but allowed her all the time in the world to spend with Toushirou. Rukia and Ichigo's son, little Ichigo was growing like a weed.


Rangiku and Toushirou showed up at the Urahara Shop and knew something was going to happen. Yoruichi stood up and smiled. "Your the last. Go on in, everyone is waiting."

When the two walked into the meeting room, they were surprised at everyone who was there. Not only was Isshin, but Ichigo, Rukia, the baby, Karin, Yuzu, Chad, Orihime, and Renji were there. Kisuke took a deep breath after they sat down.


"Earlier today Yoruichi recieved a message from Soi Fon. They are calling everyone back to the society, even Isshin. There have been numerous hollow attacks and the thirteen squads can't take them all. That is why the captains and vice captains are being called back." He cleared his throat. "Even though it is hard, considering the relationships, all those not considered shinigami are requested to stay behind. That means Orihime, Karin and Yuzu aren't allowed inside the society. Rukia has been forbidden by the Captain Commander to come back due to little Ichigo. You have two hours in which to say goodbye. After that the gate will open and you will go through."


Karin watched Toushirou throw his head towards the door and she nodded. "Excuse me."


He picked her up and took off running back to his house, only stopping once the door was shut. Karin looked at him and he dropped his eyes. When he met her gaze again, Karin knew exactly what he was going to say.

"You have to go back Toushirou. If you don't you will be black listed through the society and seen as a traitor like Aizen was. Your captains seat is on the line."


Toushirou punched the wall. "I KNOW THAT! THE THING IS, I DON'T KNOW WHEN OR IF I CAN COME BACK TO YOU! YOUR MY FUCKING GIRLFRIEND!"

Karin jumped as he punched the wall, causing the plaster to shatter around his hand. "Toushirou, please."

He turned and looked at her. "I will give it all up. I won't leave you behind.", he half growled.


"You only want to stay because I am your girlfriend?"


Toushirou sighed. "Karin, I have never felt this way about no one. Not even Hinamori. The Soul Society means nothing if I can't have you with me. I want to have a life with you. A life like Ichigo and Rukia have. I admit, I am very disappointed that you weren't with my child."

Karin swallowed, knowing exactly what she had to do. "Toushirou, I think it's best that we..that we.. I'm breaking up with you. Go back to the society and forget about me."

Toushirou's mouth dropped open in shock. "Your..breaking..up..with..me?", he stuttered, then his rage overtook him.

"DAMN IT KARIN! I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME!"

"I LIED ALRIGHT! IT WAS GOOD FOR A COUPLE OF QUICK FUCKS BUT THAT WAS IT!", she screamed back.


The windows froze over as he got more and more madder. "YOU FUCKING USED ME?"


Karin refused to show fear. "YES! THAT'S ALL IT WAS!"


Toushirou turned and jerked open the door. "Your a fucking bitch and if I ever return to the real world, I'll never speak to you again. I pity the man who marries you, but then again, you deserve to be alone. You are now no longer my friend, I can't believe you lied to me." He slammed the door and that's when Karin collapsed on the floor, tears pouring from her eyes.

"I lied, Shiro, this is for the best."

Kisuke looked up as Toushirou came through the doors. "Open the fucking gate.", he hissed. "I'm going back."


"Captain?", Rangiku started.


"Not now, Matsumoto.", the young man growled and stared at the gate, waiting on it to open. "Let's go."

Isshin looked at Rukia who nodded in understanding. "Captian, where is Karin?"

"I don't give a fuck where she is. Last I knew she was standing in our house. By the way Kisuke, could you go over and fix the wall and make sure all her stuff is gone. I don't want anything of hers there when we return."


Yuzu gasped and whispered. "Oh Karin. You didn't."

Kisuke and Tessai went over after the shop had cleared out. When they opened the door, they could hear someone moving around and Tessai walked into Toushirou's room.

"Karin. What are you doing?"


The young girl looked up from packing a box and wiped her eyes. "Getting my stuff. There's no need for it to be here. I'll be out soon."


Kisuke started on the wall as the two of them talked. "What happened Karin?"

Karin swallowed at looked at the tall man. "We broke up. Well this is it. I guess I will be going now. Oh, here's the key he gave me."


Kisuke nodded as she put her shoes on. "Isshin wants you and Yuzu to stay with Rukia till he returns."

"Thanks.", she whispered, wiping her face again.


He gently touched her shoulder. "Feel free to come by the shop anytime."

Karin shook her head. "I don't think that would be right. Thanks again."

When she got to Ruika's, no one said a word. All the dark haired girl did was show the younger one to her room. "Dinner will be ready in an hour."


Karin tried to smile. "I'm not hungry but thanks. I have school tomorrow. I'll eat there. I'm just going to shower and go to bed."


Rukia nodded. "Well if you get hungry, the leftovers will be in the fridge."

Orihime looked at the closed door after dinner was eaten and everything was cleaned up. "I wonder what happened for him to come back so angry. That isn't like him."


Yuzu sighed. "She got into a fight with him and lied to him. I think he was refusing to go back and it was because of her. I know she had told me that if it come down to that, she would lie to him to get them to break up. Karin knows how important he is to the society and she didn't want him to be blacklisted. I knew the minute he came back what she had said. And I know it is killing her inside to have to made that decision. They were such a good couple. I have never seen Karin so happy. Good night."

Rukia sighed and looked towards Karin's door. "I think it was more than that."


Orihime gasped. "You don't think he hit her?"


Rukia shook her head. "No. Toushirou isn't like that. But I bet he told her stuff that she wasn't prepared to hear, or even wanted to hear. I would hate for him to come back and them be no longer friends. We have to figure out what was said and what we can do to help. I'll get Ichigo to ask him or maybe you can get Renji to ask him."


"I will the next time I talk to him.", Orihime promised.

Another few days passed and Renji looked up as Byakuya walked in. "Renji?"

"Yes, Captain?"

Byakuya arched his eyebrow. "No one is present, Renji. Now as friend to friend, what is wrong with Captain Hitsuguya?"


Renji shrugged. "Honestly Bya.. I don't know. I know the day we left the real world, he had went to talk to Ichigo's little sister Karin. Within minutes he came back, pissed off and told Kisuke to open the gate. He wasn't too nice about it either."


The dark haired captain nodded. "I see. Well, then I guess it is time for your specialty. That man needs to talk and we need to get it out of him."


Renji smirked. "Very well. I shall deliver a message to him, telling him to come to your home."

That night after the society had quietened, Toushirou walked into Byakuya's home. "You wanted to talk to me?"

"Sit. Have a drink with us.", Byakuya ordered.

The white haired captain sat down and looked around the room. The people consisted of Captain Ukitake, Captain Kuchiki, Renji, Ichigo, Kira and Rangiku. "Of course but not too long, I have more paper work to do."


Not too long turned into three hours of drinking. Toushirou was feeling pretty good and he looked over at Rangiku and Kira. Byakuya saw Toushirou start to sway and nodded to Ichigo.

"Hey, Toushirou?"

He looked up. "Humm?"

"What happened the day we left? You were so mad."

Toushirou took another drink of sake and frowned. "Your sister. I..went to say goodbye in private and she said that she used me and all I was good for was a few quick fucks.. She broke my fucking heart."


Ichigo started to laugh and then Renji joined in. "Oh damn.", Ichigo gasped. "That's what you fought about? Shit man, what did you do? Tell her you would fucking stay and give up your captains seat?"


Toushirou raised his eyes and both men stopped laughing. Byakuya sighed.


"Toushirou. Could it be that Karin was scared for you and told you that to get you to break up with her? Look at it this way.

You were both very much in love and she understood that you would have to come back. Karin knew that you wouldn't come back without her so the only thing she could do was lie to you? Could it be, young captain that you, only heard what you wanted to? Your anger might have gotten the better of you."


Toushirou looked up at Ichigo who nodded. "Karin knew how important you were to the society. I think that you need to think about what was said and how you acted. You think your heart is broken? Think about Karin. Unlike me, you don't have a son at home in the real world that if this battle goes wrong, you won't get to see again. She loved you enough to put you back here."

"I need to go.", Toushirou remarked quickly and ran from the room. Rangiku sighed.

"Ichigo. You better get in touch with Rukia and find out how Karin is. I know that they both loved each other greatly. I just hope that we aren't too late."
