Winter Time Love Visit
***Karakura Town***
As the snowflakes began to fall upon the small town, life seemed to go back to normal, as there had been no hollow attacks surprisingly, and while the unknowing population went about enjoying the holidays, four shinigami were not.
“ACHOO!!! FUCK I HATE THIS WORLD’S WEATHER!!!” Ikkaku Madarame screamed before wiping his nose and sniffling. He and the other three shinigami sent to protect the town were furious at the fact that not a single hollow had been seen since Hitsugaya and the others went back to the Soul Society and the fact that right after they left the weather seemed to get colder and now snow was falling down and covering everything, making it even colder.
“Runny noses are so ugly and so is freezing” Yumichika added making note never to be stationed here when this weather occurred, but at least Ikkaku, Captain Zaraki, and Vice-Captain Yachiru were with him so h didn’t feel that bad…just cold.
“Why did they send us four to watch this world? Especially when there are no hollows showing up and where did the captain go?”
“I believe he and the vice-captain went off somewhere, she wanted to play with this snow i believe it's called and see what this Christmas thing is all about.”
“I kinda like it you know, you get free stuff! Imagine, free booze!”
Yumichika sighed and smiled, Ikkaku would never change but he honestly wouldn’t want him to.
“Well, yes free things are good Ikkaku, but you also have to give someone a gift in exchange. Why is it so cold?! It’s never this cold in Soul Society.”
“Just shut up and let’s try to find the captain and vice-captain”
**Meanwhile**
“Yachiru, quit running around so much, and put your jacket back on!” Kenpachi was surprised that Yamamoto asked him and his men to stay on guard in the human world, but what surprised him more was that he asked him to not have his hair in spikes and not to have his bells. So here he was with his hair down and he actually looked normal, still scary but normal.
“But Kenny! I want to play in the snow stuff!”
“and you can, as soon as you put your jacket back on.”
“Kenny’s being mean.” Yachiru grumbled to herself as she put on her pink winter coat. It seemed only she and Kenny had good outer clothing for this weather, as baldy had a suit jacket and peacock eye had only a button up with rolled up sleeves. She looked at Kenny who had a leather jacket on, which despite the fact his hair was up in spikes like normal still made him intimidating. She smiled at her surrogate father and jumped onto his right shoulder, the spot she claimed for many years.
“I’m not being mean, I just don’t want to get sick, sick people can’t fight and you know it.”
“I know Kenny, you’re just looking out for me. Thank you”
“Hmph” was all the response she got and it was all she needed, she knew Kenny loved her as much as he loved fighting and she loved him too.
“We should get a gift for Ichy.”
Kenpachi smiled at the thought of what he would give as a gift. Images of their zanpaktou clashing as they unleashed their full power against each other ran through his head.
“I got the perfect gift for him, hehehe.”
***Soul Society***
The Soul Society was silent as it slept on, only a few guards were awake and only half of them were fully awake. A garganta hole opened up in the seireitei near the shinigami offices. Ryoji knew this was a gamble, if anyone at Las Noches found out what he was doing, he’d be in big trouble, but if anyone here sensed him, he would be done for as all ten captains would attack him at once. He looked at the small box in his hands and smiled, it took him 2 hours of explaining and begging to Urahara to give him a gigai and money to get what was in the box but he did it…with much reluctance from Urahara, not because he was Espada (though that certainly was a factor), but because he didn’t know if arrancar could even use gigais. But it worked and now he had what he wanted. He searched the surrounding buildings feeling for her spiritual pressure until he found it. If he used sonido he’d be noticed so he jumped from roof to roof making as little noise as possible until he came to the window where her pressure was emanating from. Silently and slowly he opened it, wincing as it creaked open. He didn’t move for a few seconds to make sure no one heard anything, a few moments later he climbed in, noting the many sake bottles littering the floor.
“Man, this girl sure does like to drink.” He whispered to himself, and then he saw her. She was fast asleep and was obviously passed out but she looked peaceful and happy. He gazed at her perfect features and smiled. He didn’t care if he got punished when he got back to Las Noches, this was worth it. He looked around and spotted her nightstand which was also covered in sake bottles and on one corner had her lieutenant badge. He took the box and set it down on top of her lieutenant badge and looked at her once more.
‘She truly is an angel, even when passed out from drinking.’ He thought and bent down to kiss her forehead. Her skin was soft as silk and before leaving he pulled up her blanket to cover her up and brushed a strand of hair out of her face.
“As the humans say, Merry Christmas Rangiku, my angel.” And with a gesture a garganta opened up and he stepped into it, disappearing from the room and from Soul Society.
**Morning**
“Ah what a nice sleep!” Rangiku stretched and yawned hoping she wasn’t late to report in. As she rubbed her eyes and thought she saw something on her nightstand. It was a little black box with a red ribbon and bow around it. She opened it slowly, wondering who gave it to her and gasped at what was inside. It was a silver chain, but it was the jeweled pendant attached to the chain that caught her eye. It was a silver heart shaped pendant with a purple jewel in the middle and the edges of the heart were lined with diamonds. It was absolutely beautiful and from the looks of it very expensive. As she looked at it, it began to slowly spin revealing an engraving on the back.
“For my angel, you’ll always have my heart. I wonder who it’s from, hey there’s a little 3 engraved at the bottom here. Could it be? No it couldn’t be. Well it is beautiful and it’d be a shame not to wear it. Oh shit I’m late!”
