Disclaimer:
I do not own Bleach and i dont make any money from this fiction
To the winner go the spoils
Warning: This fiction is yaoi which means Boy x Boy. If you don’t like don’t read.
TilThatTime: Thank you very much I’m glad I made a good impression. Gin really does deserve some depth and I really wish more people would take the time to explore him in fan fiction. As to how I developed this pairing I just took my two favorite characters and said now how can I get them together.
Jennifer: Glad you enjoyed that ch cuz it was very hard to write I had a little writers block at how I wanted to continue. Kira is obviously infatuated with Gin but the feeling isn’t mutual. What type of response Kira will have even I don’t know yet. I never know what will happen until I actually sit down and start typing although reviews from people give me ideas of what I want to happen.
AN: I have to say I’m really surprised at the response I’ve gotten for Coming Home. It originally started as just a small drabble to pass the time while visiting family out of state. To know that people actually look forward to updates makes me happy. I know the general direction that the story will take but each day is a new experience for me as well as you as I never know where the story is going to take me. I try to post daily but if I miss a day or two in the future don’t worry I promise I will finish this story.

Chapter Seven
Byakuya stood as Gin walked into the dining room. The grinning shinigami, while still moving stiffly, had the natural grace of a swordsman. Dressed in a pale blue yukata that brought out the violet color of his hair, Gin settled himself opposite Byakuya with a sigh. Gin watched Byakuya slyly through the slits of his eyes. Byakuya had changed from his shihakusho into a deep blue yukata with sakura blossoms decorating the hem. The clothes seemed to suit the nobleman.
Servants entered and set the meal and sake before the two captains. Bowing low, they exited as silently as they had entered. Byakuya reached for the sake and filled Gin’s cup then his own. Gin took a sip of the expensive sake. It was very good not unlike the sake Aizen had kept. ‘Though needless to say the company here is much better.’ he thought to himself.
Both men fell into a companionable silence while enjoying the meal. Though not exchanging much conversation, Byakuya did acknowledge Gin’s presence. Byakuya kept the conversation to a minimum not wanting to possibly ruin the meal. The meal continued on as such until the after dinner tea was brought in.
Byakuya poured the tea and settled himself deciding to finally break the silence. “Does your wound bother you?” he asked.
“It aches and movin’ around doesn’t help. Retsu said I can begin working with Shinso in a week. It won’t be long til I’m out of ya hair.” Gin grinned to Byakuya.
Byakuya glanced up careful not to allow Gin see the sharp pain that shot through him. Gin would be leaving soon. Though he did not show it, Byakuya had gotten used to the grinning man’s presence in the manor. ‘Why should I care if he leaves after he is heal.’ thought Byakuya struggling to maintain the air of indifference.
“I am pleased you are healing so well under Toya’s care.” came the response.
“Will ya miss me when I’m gone?” asked Gin taking that moment to tease the stoic man anxious to see some of the hidden fire that he knew Byakuya never allowed others to see. Enjoying the flash that could be seen in the nobleman’s eyes just before he slammed his defenses down once again.
Not one to allow the antagonizing of others to force a response from him, Byakuya calming took a sip of his tea. Leveling his icy gaze on Gin, Byakuya considered his answer. “Your presence or lack there of in this house after you heal makes no difference to me.” Came the answer to Gin’s question, proud of himself that his voice seemed to still contain the cold tone he had worked years to perfect.
Gin simply grinned as if he knew something that Byakuya didn’t. The man was positively infuriating, Byakuya thought as he witnessed the grin widen. ‘What is he thinking? What is going on behind that grin?’
Gin gripped his chest in a mock show of pain. “Ya cut me to my heart.” joked Gin enjoying the conversation. A small smile graced Byakuya’s face. Gin seemed totally at ease, he never let his smile drop but Byakuya could tell that he was truly enjoying himself. Gin was a very attractive man if you could look beyond the grinning devil persona he had worked so hard to perfect.
“Know any games we can play?” asked Gin not wanted the evening to end too quickly.
“Do you know how to play chess?” asked Byakuya as he stood. Gin nodded, slowly stood and followed the nobleman. Byakuya led Gin to the library where sitting against the wall was an elegant chess set. Each piece carved with so much detail they seemed alive.
The shinigami settled opposite each other Byakuya taking the white side and Gin the black. Each made their moves cautiously at first as they gauged each other. Suddenly an idea occurred to Gin as a way to make this game even more interesting.
“How about we have ourselves a bet on this little game?” asked Gin with a grin.
“Stakes?” asked Byakuya with not a small amount of apprehension. Gin’s grin spread and his white teeth gleamed giving him an almost animalistic appearance.
“Well, winner’s choice. The only rules will be the prize can‘t cause injury and can‘t cause public embarrassment.” Byakuya hesitated, unsure of what Gin had planned.
“What’s the matter, you don’t think the great noble Kuchiki Byakuya cant beat Rukon raised me?” Gin said all the while laughing to himself ‘I’ve got him now.’ Byakuya’s eyes narrowed and his body language gave off a aura of competition.
“Done.” he stated and made his move.
After nearly an hour of play neither giving any leeway, Gin’s queen took Byakuya’s king. “Checkmate” grinned Gin. Byakuya sat in shock at his loss. The game itself had been one of the most difficult that Byakuya had ever played. Gin’s mind missed nothing and was always looking many moves ahead.
“Fine, what do you wish from me?” asked Byakuya acknowledging his defeat.
Gin grinned, this time the grin was not a mask used to hide himself from others but a true show of his elation. He knew the moment he made the bet what he was ask as his prize.
“A kiss.” grinned Gin deviously enjoying the play of emotions that Byakuya could not hide. Byakuya really was fun to watch.
“You can’t be serious.” exclaimed the nobleman looking at Gin with panic evident in his eyes. Cold façade completely shattered.
“I’m dead serious.” stated Gin matter of factly.
Byakuya simply stood locked in an inner battle. Honor dictated that he should bow to the desire of Gin as that he had agreed to the bet. Fear and honor warred against each other. Finally, Byakuya nodded. Honor was honor and he as a Kuchiki valued honor above all else. Gin would have his kiss as much as it irked Byakuya to give in.
Gin stood slowly mindful of his still healing wounds and slowly walked towards his prey. Byakuya stood stiff as Gin approached. Gin gently ran his hand up the sleeve of Byakuya’s yukata, his touch light and non threatening. Seeking to calm Byakuya as if he was a wild animal, Gin kept his touch light.
Gin stepped close so that their chest’s barely brushed. He could see Byakuya’s pulse pounding at the base of his neck. He could feel the heat radiating off of the nobleman. It was intoxicating. To be so close to this man, to be given this one chance to touch and taste the object that he had desired for so long. It was almost more than he could take.
Gin allowed his eyes to slide open. ‘I’ll let him know just how much I desire him.’ thought Gin. Gin was determined to etch this moment into Byakuya’s mind and his own as well. Gin wrapped his hand around the back of Byakuya’s neck and guided his lips towards his own.
Gin barely brushed against Byakuya’s lips. A delicate tasting, gentle and sweet. Cautiously his tongue darted out and skimmed along Byakuya’s lower lip asking permission to enter. Gin began to suck gently on Byakuya’s lower lip begging to be allowed entrance.
Byakuya could barely think. Where the taste of Hisana had been sweet and delicate, Gin’s taste was dark and exotic promising forbidden pleasures. Unable to resist the pull of Gin’s lips, Byakuya relaxed his lips, Gin wasted no time slipping inside.
Gin was in heaven the feel and taste of Byakuya was unlike anything he had experienced before. Running his tongue first along his teeth then the sensitive roof of the mouth tasting every inch of the dark cavern. Gin’s tongue began to tease Byakuya’s tongue trying to draw it out and into his own mouth. Timidly, Byakuya followed Gin’s tongue. Repeating the actions of Gin and fully exploring his mouth.
Shivers ran along Gin’s spine as Byakuya began to dominate the kiss. Heat pooled in his loins. This was the kiss to end all kisses. The world could have crumbled around them and Gin would not have cared. Suddenly, Byakuya pulled away and leaned his forehead against Gin’s. He too looked as shaken as Gin. They remained that way eyes closes basking in the presence of each other.
Slowly eyes opened, steel colored eyes gazed into crimson orbs. Both shinigami panted, their heated breaths caressing each other’s flushed cheeks. No false grins nor icy stares were present on their faces, only the lust visible in each others eyes. Slowly Byakuya pulled away his normally pale cheeks stained a pink that rivaled the petals of Senbonzakura’s shikai.
Slowly turning away, Byakuya left Gin standing in the library. His thoughts raced and his heart pounded, he walked quickly to his bedroom. Closing the door Byakuya leaned against the wall and slowly ran his tongue along his lips still tasting Gin upon them. Only in his fantasies had he touched and been touched by Gin and Byakuya realized that reality was far more potent than fantasy.
