The next day was a lazy summer day. Toshiro was peacefully asleep in the borrowed little bed until he felt large heavy items on his stomach.
"C’mon Sunshine, up ya get!” Toshiro glared at the blond boy.
“Fine but did you have to drop books on me?!” He growled in annoyance. Ed grinned.
"Yup; besides you wanted to learn alchemy didn’t you? Well there you go!” Toshirou scowled and picked up one of the thick books.
"Couldn’t you have just simply given me them to me?” Ed grinned wider. “Now what fun would that be?” Toshiro grunted as he got up.
“Whatever.”
“Oh, and by the way Shirou, I\'m not going to be here for a few hours.” Toshirou quirked an eyebrow.
“Oh? Where\'re you going?” Ed sighed.
"To work; sorry I can’t bring you along, it’s just that the military doesn’t allow outsiders in HQ besides Al.”
Toshirou shrugged. "All right, fine."
Ed patted Shiro\'s head. “Don’t worry if you ever feel lonely Winry is still here!” Toshiro scoffed.
“Look, I’ll be fine.” Ed scowled.
“All right...if you say so...” He said as left. “See ya Shiro!”
Toshiro grumbled a good-bye.
Ed walked out. A few hours later Toshiro decided to grab the alchemy books and go out and sit under his favourite tree. After a few minutes he was absorbed in the books, fascinated. “Wait…this is only a weak part of reiatsu." Toshiro smirked. “Well at least I’ll be able to use Hyourinmaru here.” He heard someone walking towards him. He quickly looked up as he saw Ed grinning at him.
“Yo.”
Toshirou immediately felt something off. \'There’s something wrong here,\' Toshiro thought, putting the book down slightly to study the strange Ed that was before him.
“I came back; I realized I had forgotten something!” He said, grinning and rubbing the back of his head. Toshiro’s eyes narrowed.
“It’s not like you to forget something if it\'s important.”
The strange Ed shrugged. “Everyone has their days.”
Toshiro looked back at his book, not relaxing the slightest. “Then you\'d better go get it before Mustang gets upset.”
"Aww, Shiro, do you hate me that much?” Toshiro looked up quickly as he noticed that voice was definitely NOT Ed\'s. The imposter Ed had an uncharacteristically sadistic smile on his face as he saw him slowly change from Ed to what must be his human-like form. Toshirou got up quickly and saw what he read in the books was the homunculus tattoo on his right.
“Aww what’s wrong, shrimpy? Scared?” The homunculus said mockingly, seeing Toshirou\'s shocked expression. Toshirou smirked suddenly.
“So homunculus...you know what your almighty alchemy is? The truth I mean?” he said as he drew Hyourinmaru. The homunculus frowned.
"What are you talking about boy?” Toshiros smirk widened.
"I’ll show you. Soten ni zase, Hyourinmaru!” Suddenly the sky went from a sunny day to darkness in a matter of seconds as a crushing spirit energy suddenly hung over the air as Envy was brought down to his knees, fear evident on his face. Toshirou\'s face went dead serious. “Now I’ll show you the truth and true fear...”
