Chapter Nine
"True.." Taking a gander back at her, a small upwards crescent formed on his lips. "However, you seemed to have no problem critisizing my maids." She gave her opinion on them, and he gave his opinion on this. That was about it. "When they are rude i don't plan to sit by and take that from anyone." She ends up taking her seat back a the table and starts eatting again. "Still..I had to hear from it.." Replying with a soft nod, Byakuya joined her at the table. Not sitting of course, just standing by it. "When you stop by from now on. Just handle things a little more civilized..for both our sakes." "I am civilized when the situation calls for it. I'm not going to be looked down on by anyone just because i'm not a noble or of noble-birth." she manages to get this out around bites. she suddenly felt like she was starving.
"This has nothing to do with being looked down upon, or not being born of noble birth. If you think thats what this is all about. Your hind sight is 1 tracked. This has everything to do with acting civilized and not causing trouble when your told to do something. "Told to buzz off more aptly." she's still continuing to eat. "And if you would have possibly asked a little more calmly, instead of so frantic. This whole little fiasco could have been avoided. What if I really wasnt feeling well and couldnt take any visitors? Would you still be here acting the same way? She looks up at him with an arched brow, "First of all I'm not certain what she told you but i wasn't frantic. She had a chip on her sholder the size of Japan the moment she opened the door."
"And the reason being because you werent some member of a high ranking family?" A light smirk touched the elder SHinigami's lips. It was really quite laughable. "Im not askign for much, just a little discrepitcy when entering my home in the future.." "I do not believe that will be an issue as it won't be happening much in the future. Infact it won't be happening at all ecause you dispense orders from your study not your home." she continues to eat until the plate is clean and then rises to clean up her mess. "Still remember this talk if you ever find yourself in my home. I will not have this talk a 2nd time Katsumi.." That was a re-accuring thing for him. He hated having to repeat himself on every little matter. if people just followed everything from the beginning all would be well. She turns on her heel her eyes narrowed, "And I don't like repeating myself, so listen this time. When you are in MY home you will not talk down at me."
"I am not talking down AT you. Im telling you for future reference act in a better manor." Turning his gaze onto the angered woman. Byakuya watched in utter curiousity as to why he would be talked at like this. He WAS her captain regardless of her feelings. "If you cant comprehend that thought through your thick, pride ridden head then listen now for im only gonna say it ONE more time. Dont barge into the Kuchiki estate, running frantically around and causing my maids to become flustered with you. It doesnt set a good example of my leadership to them.." Her hand clenches, "First of all I did NOT barge in or run frantically around. I pushed the door back open when it was shut in my face without waiting for a response. I didn't have to run around because I could sense your spiritual pressure."
"The point is still the same. Dont do it Katsumi.." Pausing for a moment, the dark haired captain turned a dead locked, gaze onto the young shinigami woman. His black eyes showing little to no emotion in their deep pools. "They dont know you..they havent seen you before. You dont think a stranger barging into someone's house can be a tad chaotic for them?" She turns her back taking care of the plates and forks, she was feeling tired again, and sick of this discussion already. "As I said it will not be an issue in the future." "Alright.." Nodding slightly, Byakuya slowly made his way over to her. The remaining plates in his hands for cleaning. He was glad that was settled. Frankly he didnt wanna make her upset, especially after hearing of her illness. "Is their anything I can help you with?" "I've got the flu but I'm not dying." her temper is a bit short but that would be expected considering she's not feeling well.
"Im just trying to help ease your tension. I wasnt catering to you as if you were gonna pass away." Byakuya replied a tad steadfast. Placing the remaining plates on the countertop. "I would like to help if I could.." She gags slightly, 'dammit' she turns and runs back to the bathroom getting sick again, apparently chinese food was not going to settle in her stomach. Watching as she ran off with a curious expression crossing his face. Byakuya slowly went off after her in her time of need. Apparently the flu had taken quite an attack on her body. Really he didnt expect it to be so bad. "Katsumi?" The elder Shinigami called, opening the door slightly to hear her heaving sickly from the inside. Apparently asking her if she was alright would be a stupid idea when he already knew the answer. Instead, he simply opened the door and headed in after her to help hold her hair or whatever would make this just a little bit easier on her.
She finally heaves the last of the food from her stomach and lays her head against her arm. She had felt him lift her hair but had nothing to say about it, not while she felt so crummy. Crouching down next to her, Byakuya's hand slowly trailed to her back. With a soft rub, he gently tryed to carress away her sickly feeling. He didnt exactly know how he could help, he was rarely in this situation, but hopefully he'd at least give her some type of re-assurance. She coughs softly still feeling nausea despite knowing her stomach is empty, "You probably shouldn't..." Cough "Be this close to me." Cough "You don't need to get sick too." her voice is somewhat weak though since it's his fault she's sick in the first place it would serve him right to actually come down with something.
"Its quite alright.." He spoke, re-assuringly.
His hand still tracing around in circles on her back. "Worse comes to worst, I get sick.." Shrugging his shoulders slightly, he prepared to help gently lift his female subourdinate back onto her feet, She sighs but allows him to help her, "I need to lay down..." Helping her up, and gently leading her back off to her room. Byakuya couldnt help but feel that his presence here with her wasnt needed..or frankly...wanted by the young, female Shinobi. He wondered what he could have said to upset her in such a way. "Do you want me to get you a glass of water?" He asked curiously, opening the door to her room so she could lay down. "i don't think it will stay down." she strips down because it was pointless to have any modesty with him at this point and climbs into her bed, laying down with a soft groan.
"Do you want me to get you anything at all?" He asked once again, making sure their was nothing she needed from him. "Maybe some medicine?" That might have helped ease her stomach pains or anything of that sort. "No. It shouldn't be an issue. I should be better by next week. It usually runs that long." little does she know that it won't be getting better anytime soon. Nodding slightly, Byakuya slowly straightened himself out. "Do you want me to stay here? In case you feel worse during the night?" The elder man asked with a sincere tone. Truly trying his hardest to be supportive in this type of situation. "I wouldn't want to be a burden." one of her hands settling over her stomach.
