Chapter Nine
Dawn broke over the horizon of Karakura Town. The wind carried the scent of summer and the promise of a warm and beautiful day. Renji’s eyes slowly slid open as the sunlight filtered in through the shades. He felt a warm weight on his chest and glanced down to Izuru‘s blonde head resting on his shoulder and arm thrown across his abdomen. Lying there, Izuru looked so peaceful and angelic. None of the pain and suffering he endured was present on his sleeping visage. Renji shifted and slid out from beneath Izuru, taking care not to wake the exhausted man. The smaller man moaned low and shifted his body restlessly before settling once again into a deep sleep. Sitting on the side of the bed, the events of the previous night came flooding back to Renji.
Renji had woken to the sound of running water and assumed that Izuru was simply restless. When he heard a moan come from the bathroom, Renji had jumped to his feet in a panic. If Izuru was injuring himself, Renji was going to put a stop to it. Seeing Izuru hunched in the shower, shivering despite the steam that rose from the warm water running over him, caused sadness to radiate through Renji’s soul. Running his hands over the quivering body, Renji found no sign of injury. However, he did find a raging erection that seemed to be causing a great deal of pain to the slender man. Izuru had quivered and cried out when Renji had brushed the hard flesh.
Renji knew right away this wasn’t a normal situation. It was one thing to have an erection or even to feel lust. It could be controlled. Izuru, however, was in an uncontrolled state of lust. His eyes weren’t seeing and his mind wasn’t thinking, relief was the only thing that mattered and he was getting hotter by the minute.
Rage had surged through Renji. It had been that fucking tea that Izuru had drank out of respect for that fucking shop owner, that was the only explanation for the state Izuru was in. Renji saw red and in the center of that red was Urahara beaten bloody. Only Izuru’s whimpers had brought Renji down from his anger. His friend was suffering. Renji had spent the night quenching the fire the aphrodisiac forced on Izuru.
Even now, Izuru slept deeply, no doubt from exhaustion. After the first marathon of orgasms, they had both rested for an hour or so until Izuru’s moans had pulled Renji from his doze. The overpowering lust that drove Izuru pulled Renji along. Neither got any sleep until almost four a.m. when it appeared that the drug had completely worked its way from Izuru’s system. Izuru had utterly collapsed in exhaustion. Renji had dozed until the sun rising had pulled him from sleep.
The memory of the erotic moans and passion filled cries of Izuru, caused a pulse of lust to rush towards Renji’s groin. Sweat beaded on Renji’s brow as his cock rose to attention and demanded a repeat of the previous night’s activities. Groaning, Renji glanced towards the sleeping form of Izuru.
Stepping towards the bed, Renji ran the tips of his fingers over Izuru’s lips and down his throat to the small bruise that marred the alabaster skin. There were similar marks all over Izuru’s body and Renji, though ashamed at not being able to resist the small blonde, took pride in the visual sign of Izuru belonging to him. He had marked the man as his own. Now there was just one thing Renji needed to do.
Hopefully Izuru would sleep late and give Renji the time he needed to beat the ever loving piss out of Urahara Kisuke. Renji knew Zabimaru hungered for a taste of the former taicho as well. That bloodlust added to his own was a very deadly and potent combination. When zanpakuto and shinigami were in sync, death and destruction was promised to their enemies.
Growling, Renji released himself from his gigai and exited the apartment. Time to pay a visit to that meddling shop keeper. Zabimaru was practically radiating a killing intent. Renji jumped across the buildings until he came to the small shop situated obscurely in a nearly deserted part of town. Kneeling down, Renji patiently watched the shop. It was nearly an hour before there was any sort of movement. Tessai, the former head of the Kidou Corps, opened the shop door and set about sweeping the entrance before heading back in. He was a huge man and a master of every type of Kidou. If at all possible, Renji wanted to avoid a confrontation with him. The door closed behind him with a faint jingle.
Renji took that as his cue. Jumping down from the roof of the building, Renji carefully scouted the area. Seeing that the large man was busy in the back, Renji slipped in through an open window, avoiding using the door due the presence of bells to alert the entrance of customers. Taking care to suppress his reiatsu, Renji eased through the window with Zabimaru drawn. Watching carefully, Renji snuck towards the dining room where the shop keeper was sure to be enjoying morning tea and breakfast.
Renji had to fight to suppress the growl that threatened to rumble from his throat. That man was in for a world of pain. Both he and Zabimaru were in accord that he needed to pay for forcing Izuru into the sort of position he was in last night. Not that Renji objected to aiding his friend in finding release but it was the fact that Izuru had his choice taken from him. That was what pissed Renji off the most. Izuru deserved better. Such a gentle soul forced to bear his own darkness alone and Urahara forces him into that sort of predicament. ‘Time to pay the piper.’ thought Renji, an evil smirk gracing his face.
Renji glanced around the door. As expected Urahara is enjoying breakfast, his back towards Renji. On silent feet, Renji places Zabimaru at the slender neck of the store owner, drawing a tiny drop of blood with the razor sharp blade. Urahara freezes and glances out of the corner of his eyes at the fuming redhead. It was a rare feat to sneak up on Urahara Kisuke without him noticing. Very rare indeed.
“I see you tried my gift.” grinned the man “Though in all honesty I expected both of you to be in bed sleeping off your nightly ventures.”
“Kira was the only one that drank that vile elixir that you sent. And you are about to get your ass kicked for doing that to him.” growled Renji.
“Aww, what’s the matter. I could see the sexual tension from a mile away with you two. All you needed was a push in the right direction.” teased Urahara as he drew his fan from his haori.
“ASSHOLE!” yelled Renji and he lifted Zabimaru and took a swing at Urahara. His anger flared at the nonchalantly way the man talked about Izuru. As if he was perfectly normal just simply suffering from repressed sexual desire. In truth, that was all that Urahara knew. Byakuya and Gin had kept there end of the agreement and spoke to no one concerning Izuru’s issues. The former taicho had taken it upon himself to hypothesize the reasons for the short notice trip.
Urahara rolled out of the way of the swinging blade and lunged for his cane. ‘That man is seriously pissed. I figured he would be slightly irate but not to this degree.’ Urahara thought to himself and he drew Benehime from her sheath. Something else was going on with the man for him to be in such a state.
“Awaken, Benehime.” The zanpakuto shimmered and reverted from her slumbering form into a lovely blade with a crimson tassel at the hilt. ‘I am at your service, Kisuke. What would you ask of me?’
‘Just keep me alive, my princess. I think this guy here wants to hurt me.’ came Urahara’s drawl tone. Kisuke could hear the laughter coming from his crimson princess. It had been a while since they’d had a work out. This might be enjoyable.
“May I ask a favor before you proceed with the ………kicking of my ass, as you put it. Could we possibly move this to my training grounds? I would hate to have Tessai angry with me for messing up the shop.” asked Urahara. It would be more fun there anyway, but Kisuke kept that little bit to himself. Renji looked unsure, though finally nodded his agreement and followed the blonde man towards the cellar. Pulling up the secret door, Kisuke dropped down into the huge open area, reminiscent of the playground he and Yoruichi had created back in Soul Society.
Spinning to face the anger encompassed face of Renji, Kisuke spread his arms in a taunt. Renji took the bait and lunged at the former taicho. Blades clashed sending sparks flying. Not wanting to kill the man, Renji refrained from releasing Zabimaru to shikai, instead he slammed his blade over and over again towards the other man. Kisuke could do no other than defend the powerful downward blows. It was obvious to Kisuke that something was very wrong here.
“Why may I ask are you so upset, you both enjoyed it didn’t you?” asked Kisuke as he blocked yet another blow. This one so hard that the power reverberated all the way up his arm, causing it to tremor.
“That’s not for me to tell ya, asshole.” shouted Renji as he lunged again this time actually knocking the striped hat from his opponents head. Kisuke looked at the younger man with a little bit of surprise. That was unexpected. Ichigo had actually beaten this guy in a fight? He was fast, strong and obviously knowledgeable of fighting techniques. Kisuke had a new respect for his former student.
Kisuke dropped low to the ground to avoid an attack that could easily have taken his head off. Grasping a handful of dirt in one hand and reaching for his fallen hat with the other, he tossed the dirt into Renji’s eyes and moved away to access the situation. Renji swiped his hands over his eyes in an attempt to remove the dirt that had blinded him.
“Fucking asshole.” Renji screamed, now thoroughly pissed off. If he was mad before, he was furious now. Spotting the green clad man standing on a mountain, Renji charged and again began his assault. Both men were sweating profusely. It was all Kisuke could do to defend himself. Benehime hummed her concern. This was no longer a game. His opponent wanted his blood.
“Geez man, what is your problem. No physical harm was done. Well, nothing a day in bed cant cure anyway.” Kisuke said as he tried to reason with Renji. Renji was having none of it. This guy would never know the pain that Izuru was suffering from. He hadn’t seen that beautiful creature crumpled on the floor, his eyes so full of hopelessness.
“Ya don’t know what ya might have done. Izuru is emotionally unstable right now. What ya did may cause him to pull away from me. I only have two weeks before the issue is brought before the other taicho. His life could be ruined if I cant show progress towards recovery to my taicho.” yelled Renji as he burst forward with more strikes.
Kisuke thrust forward with Benehime, but was parried. Renji swung Zabimaru again, this time grazing Kisuke’s cheek. Blood dripped down from the cut. Flipping backwards, Kisuke brought his hand up to his cheek. There was no point in wiping away the blood. Face wounds always bleed heavily, making them seem worse than they are. Kisuke saw the pain that the anger had been hiding. ‘What the hell happened to the blonde one?’ thought Kisuke as he continued to dodge the never ending assault.
‘I have an idea, my princess, so forgive me if I end up dead.’ Kisuke murmured to Benehime. Dropping Benehime from his hands, Kisuke stood there unarmed, his arms wide as if offering himself as a sacrifice. Renji stood still as a statue. ‘What the fuck is he planning.’ Renji would never attack an unarmed man with his zanpakuto. Urahara was hopping that was the case, at any rate.
Renji stared for a moment longer then walked slowly towards the unarmed man. Zabimaru still ready to strike should Urahara attack. Facing the man, Renji slowly sheathed Zabimaru, his eyes never leaving Kisuke’s.
“Glad to see you would never attack and unarmed man.” said Kisuke with a smile. Pulling his hat off of his head to dust it off.
“Who the fuck said I would never attack an unarmed person.” With those words, Renji swung his fist at the blonde man. Kisuke never saw it coming. The fist was like having a wall thrown at his face. Kisuke went flying and landed hard with a grunt. Renji was shaking his hand, wincing. Kisuke stood up, and spat blood from where his teeth had cut his gums. His lip was split and bleeding, and his jaw was starting to swell.
“Well, well. I cant say I saw that coming.” commented Kisuke wryly. “Are you satisfied now? I have a split lip, cut on my face, and you very nearly broke my jaw.” Renji studied the man for a moment. Picking up Benehime, and tossing her to her master.
“Would have been better if I had broke your jaw.” growled Renji.
“Would my apology count for anything?” asked Kisuke.
He really liked this guy. This was the type of person you never saw coming until it was too late to defend. He was a lot like Ichigo in that sense. Kisuke was slightly envious of the relationship Renji had with Izuru. That young man didn’t know how lucky he was to have someone like Renji to care for him. Men, women, Kisuke had tried them both and enjoyed them both, yet he had never found the all encompassing fire that this man held in his eyes for his friend. Such devotion was admirable. Kisuke gave a little chuckle as he returned Benehime to her sheath. Would he ever earn such devotion from another. ‘Ah, that’s thoughts for another time, eh, my princess.’
‘Indeed, Kisuke.’ came the soft reply. ‘But whomever finds their way into your heart is either a very brave or very stupid.’ smirked the zanpakuto. Kisuke scowled at the weapon. ‘I’m not that bad.’
Renji walked up to the man. Kisuke jumped back, not in the mood to take another hit. This time the boy would likely follow through with his earlier comment and actually break his jaw. Hell, as it is, Jinta was never going to let him live it down. There was no hiding the swelling or the bruise that was sure to be forming.
“I ain’t going to hit ya anymore. Just wanted to say this. If you ever pull that shit again with Izuru. I will fucking kill you no matter what the Soul Society says.” growled Renji before he turned and flash stepped away. Kisuke sat on the ground and leaned his head against a boulder.
“I’m getting to old for this shit.” With a sigh, pulled his aching body up and made his way upstairs to beg first aid from Tessai.

AN: I like this chapter. Kisuke is arrogant so I think he deserved to get the shit kicked out of him once in a while. I really like Kisuke so I’m leaving his relationship status open to possibly a sequel featuring him. I don’t know anything other than that. Thanks again for the reviews. Until next time.
