Which is why he’s placing open mouthed kisses along Ichigo’s shoulder. Because he’s empty.
Inside.
In that little space somewhere between his heart and his gut. The one that’s still a dull ache after all these years.
He was shocked the day he realized that Ichigo made the pain leave. He really shouldn’t have been though. The children had always made him feel a little better, fuller. Of course this isn’t how they had done it.
Before.
Before he’d realized just how beautiful his son is. Before he’d felt the urge to touch him, hold him, possess him.
He knows it’s messed up but as he proceeds to take what he wants, he feels a little less hollow.
