Ichirin No Hana

Notes: The song is in japanese but i've included a translation for it at the end of the fic. this is the 3rd OP from the Bleach anime, by High and Mighty Color.

He would save her. That was for sure. After all, she was the one who changed his life. She was the only one who could ever hope to even achieve the status she now held in his heart. Of course, he would rather die than admit her importance in his life, but it was undeniable that Kuchiki Rukia was irreplaceable in the eyes of Kurosaki Ichigo.

That was why he had to save her. No matter what tribulations he would have to overcome, he would rescue her from that most hated place. When he saw her again after going through so much pain, after experiencing such torment, he was appalled at how thin she had become. Her once innocent face was now laced with an age-old weariness that tore at his heart. Why had he ever allowed this to happen to her? Why had he not protected this innocent little flower from the cruel fate of wilting?

It was something both of them would embed in the deepest depths of their memories for eternity. He remembered that one turning point in his life. They were being attacked. She was dying. He had to become her strength. He wanted to become her strength. He had become her strength

This time he had managed to save her from almost certain death. Through endless bloodshed and tears, he had managed to grant her salvation and freedom. The price to pay was high, but she was worth it all and more. However, Ichigo understood. This would be the last chance he would have. The last chance they would have together. Because Rukia had chosen to stay behind in a world so far from Ichigo.

The Earth would continue to spin. People would continue living their lives. The world would not stop just because of the absence of a Kuchiki Rukia

Ichigo thought that that would be the last meeting they would have. He thought he would never see her again. He had resigned himself to a world without his oxygen. Yet, she had returned. Rukia had returned to his side once again. And this time, he would not let the chance slip away. Ichigo knew there will be no next time.
