Calling in to the silence
A/N: There is probably not much to say about this. I’m planning to write a long-breath Bleach fic with a few side story parts about how some characters got together or turned out this strange way and so I needed a background story for two of them and while I debated this out with my mind this story was born. Great a new full blown tragedy from me filled with pain, guilt and anger…
I. Act: The promise You never held
The sun was shining brightly above the little town surrounded in the north by a lush green forest. The streets were busy as always with people following they every day routine or heading back home from work or shopping. Inside the school were most children meanwhile fixing they gazes eagerly at the old clock hanging above the green board even the teacher had stopped talking because it was useless there was not much chance that even one child was listening to what they were saying. Heck they could even say that in the cafeteria was free ice-cream week and no child would budge to move even a millimeter from they sitting spot. Suddenly the school bell’s shrill tone haled through the whole building mixing with excited screams as the classroom doors flew open through the masses of eager children passing though them…
…the Summer has officially started.
The young students met up with they friends by the gate and chattered happily about they plans while walking together home. The same went also for a young sixteen years old boy with long blonde hair and hazel eyes who was at the moment making plans with his four best palls when suddenly a girl passed them. She had long black hair and azure blue eyes.
“Hey Grantz-kun.” she said in an annoyed tone as glared at the blonde.
“Hey Kiyoko-chan do you want me to walk you home.” the blonde asked eagerly, a smile on his lips, but the girl only glared even harder.
“No need we are sadly neighbors, but didn’t you promise your mother that you would walk with your little brother home? Or did it slip your tiny little mind that they teacher always holds them inside for ten more minutes after the final bell rings?” she snapped with her hands on her hips.
“Ah come on Kiyoko-chan, Szayel can keep one eye on himself.” come the reply.
“You are absolutely impossible Ilforte Grantz, your brother is only twelve in that age look they up to they older siblings, do things together and mostly they older siblings protect them which I don’t see you doing.” Kiyoko growled as she turned around to walk back to the school while Ilforte and his friends stared after her.
“Really, Szayel is a total nerd and boring to have around.” Ilforte said while his friends nodded in agreement remembering the only two times they had seen the kid.
------------
Meanwhile outside the school gates stood a frail looking twelve years old boy with messy pink hair and rectangular-framed glasses from which behind intelligent amber eyes stared at the ground. The boy was just about to pass the gates fully when the sound of running hit his ears. Looking in the noises direction he spotted they neighbor running in his direction waving.
“Hey Szayel-kun would you like to walk with me back home?” she asked happily.
“Ilforte has again not held the promise he gave mother.” the young boy replied, this was not the first time his brother forgot about him and since a few years he didn’t care.
“Well uhm…you know Ilforte he is a prick, so shall we?” Kiyoko asked as she held her hand out which Szayel accepted after a few seconds of hesitation.
As they walked down the street in to the direction of they homes Kiyoko couldn’t help herself, but to threw a few side glances at the boy. Szayel was not weary popular by other kids they tended to ignore him and with his parents usually having much to do, Alphonse Grantz was a rather great doctor and his wife Isabella worked in her own bookstore, so was only Ilforte left to be there for his brother, but he broke those promises always. A heavy feeling started to nag on her heart. “Be careful Ilforte if you keep breaking the promises to be there for your little brother then there might the time come when you will regret it sooner then you wish…” she thought bitterly.
To be continued…
