Got Heart?

The fight between Ichigo Kurosaki and Ulquiorra Schiffer ended in Ichigo’s favor. The Fourth Espada was nowhere to be seen. Ichigo couldn’t sense him anywhere. “Did he just fall off the map? Is this what happens to Arrancar?” he wondered softly out loud.

Far off, in the World of the Living, a young woman was on a late night stroll. The soft wind made her brown hair dance elegantly. She was walking by the small beach not too far from her house. She loved it there, especially at this time of night. The moon was always plainly visible as were countless stars. The waves seemed like they would go on forever in a tranquil calm. And the sand seemed to shine like teeny tiny diamonds.

She carefully stepped onto the sand, feeling a few grains cover her sandaled feet. As she skipped through the beach, she sensed something was very different about her usual routine walk. She slowly made her way further to the hidden cove that she explored countless times before. She peaked her head in, her chocolate brown eyes surveying the area. ‘There’s something here, something powerful.’ she concluded, carefully making her way into the cove.

There was some very shallow water covering the rocky and sandy surface. She soon saw a dark figure slumped on the floor. “A man?” she wondered out loud, making her way over to the man. She soon noticed that his clothes were extremely tattered and he was covered with blood! She ran to him and turned him over carefully, also noticing a very strange item on the side of his head. She noted the hole on his sternum. “A hole and I guess a mask…and judging by the tattoo…he must be one of them.” she whispered softly.

Her eyes widened ever so slightly as she saw his chest rise softly. She picked up the strange man and quickly made her way back to her house, which she was grateful wasn’t too far away.

When she arrived home, she set the man on her futon, not really caring that he was soaked to the bone. She walked to her fireplace, starting a nice and warm blaze and she got out a spare blanket to cover the man with. “Nothing to do but wait for you to come to.” she said to the man softly. His appearance dazzled the girl. Such pale skin, black, messy, shoulder-length hair and cyan streaks that went from his eyes to his chin. The firelight helped reveal the number 4 tattooed on the left side of his chest.

She sat in her kitchen, sipping some tea, soft, relaxing music playing in the background. ‘So he’s an Arrancar, and an Espada no less. Kisuke was right in telling me I guess. Didn’t think they’d look so…human.’ she pondered not taking her eyes off the Espada. ‘The big question is, will he kill me when he wakes up?’ she wondered, waiting patiently yet anxiously.

Cold, green eyes slowly opened, somewhat confusion was in their depths, not that anyone would really be able to notice. ‘Where am I? I’m not dead?’ he wondered, feeling warmth all around his body. This only puzzled the Espada further, wouldn’t death be cold as ice? He also felt damp, as if he had been stayed in water too long. He soon felt as if he was being watched and sat up, immediately seeing a human female staring at him.

“Nice to see you’re alive.” she said in a strange accent. “Where am I? And who are you woman?” he asked in a dull voice. “Well, you’re in San Francisco. And, you may somewhat know me. My name is Kia Aizen. And, I know you’re an Espada, one of my twin brother’s creations.” she answered, a smile was on her face, but Ulquiorra could tell she was serious. ‘She does look like Lord Aizen, almost a spitting image.’

“Hello?” Kia droned, getting the Espada’s attention. “Yes?” “What’s your name? I can’t very well call you Arrancar nor Espada now can I?” she asked, a smile still on her face, just like her brother. “I do not need to tell my name to trash like you.” he said with extreme disrespect. Her face hardened in displeasure. “I saved you from hypothermia, brought you to my home and made sure you didn’t freeze to death. And you can’t tell me your name?” she growled.

“You saved me?” he asked, his tone didn’t change, but there was a very small hint of surprise. “Yeah, you were face down in a cove not too far from my place. So, I think I’ve more then earned this one little request.” she said, her eyes burning. ‘This one is more hot-headed then her brother.’ he noted. He sighed. “My name is Ulquiorra Schiffer.” he said, turning his gaze to the fire. “See! Now was that so hard? Its nice to meet you Ulquiorra.” she chirped, sitting beside him, Somehow, he liked how she said his name.

She got up and went to the kitchen, coming back with a steaming mug. “Here’s some tea, you look like you could use some. I have some soup cooking, it should really help you out.” she said, handing Ulquiorra the warm mug. It felt nice against his hands, he still felt very cold. “May I ask you something woman?” he asked. “Sure. Shoot.” Kia said, sipping some honey sweet tea. “More like two. Why did you save me? And why are you not with your brother?” he asked.

“To your first question, its just how I am. I help people…I guess because I want to be able to be there for my friends. And, you get to meet many interesting people, no? Why I’m not with Sosuke? Well, I’ve been hidden from him. I’ve heard what he’s done, and it doesn’t seem right. Not saying I’m a saint either, but, oh well.” she responded, taking another sip, her gaze glued to the warm fire.

Ulquiorra heard three beeps and looked around to see what caused them. “Oh, that’s the microwave, your soup’s done.” Kia said, getting up once again and heading to the kitchen. “Come on over here Ulquiorra.” she called out softly. He noted how her tongue rolled on the l. He followed and found her pouring a strange liquid into a green ceramic bowl. This home seemed like what he heard was a cabin, the whole place was decorated in earth tones. Many green rugs and carpeting covered the floors.

“Here ya go. Some nice hot soup. Hope you don’t mind, Chicken Noodle was all I had. Its very delicious though.” she said, handing the pale man a spoon. “You didn’t poison it did you, woman?” he asked, staring at her blankly. “Of course not! Why would I poison it if I just saved you?!” she growled, sounding insulted.

Ulquiorra just shrugged it off, placing the spoon in the ‘food’. He swallowed the soup, an incredibly warm feeling spreading throughout him. “See? Isn’t it good?” Kia asked, slurping up some soup of her own. “Its ok.” he admitted, taking another mouthful. He finished before Kia did. “Guess you were hungry.” she said, pulling Ulquiorra to his feet and leading him somewhere.

“Where are you taking me?” he asked, still practically emotionless. “You need a bath, to get of any and all bacteria in those wounds.” she said, pushing him into the bathroom. “I’ll show you how this works, the rest is yours to do. And Shampoo then Conditioner.” she explained, letting the water warm up. “I’ll get you some fresh clothes. Have a nice bath.” she said, leaving so he could have some privacy.

While looking through the clothes she had for men she heard a loud crash come from the bathroom. “What the hell?!” she exclaimed, running to the bathroom and almost kicked the door open. “Is something wrong?!” she asked in a panicked voice. Kia opened the shower door and saw a collapsed Ulquiorra, she then noticed that the horn on his helmet was almost completely snapped off! “Oh God. Ulquiorra!!” she cried, lifting his wet body up, his head ending up on her chest as she examined the mask.

She heard Ulquiorra groan in pain, raising a hand to the injured mask. His eyes opened, showing immense pain. “You poor thing. Gimme a minute to change and I’ll help you okay.” she said, setting him against the tub, warm water raining on his torso.

‘God, that poor guy. He must’ve slipped. I can’t even imagine how much that hurt.’ she thought, slipping her swimsuit, a pure black two piece. Kia went back into the bathroom to see that Ulquiorra hadn’t moved. “Hey there, I’m gonna help you ok?” she said in a soft voice, since he was still in the tub, she couldn’t see any of his lower body.

Ulquiorra slowly turned his head to see Kia in what was to him an extremely skimpy outfit. “What are you doing?” he asked, his voice was hitching slightly. “I’m gonna help you finish your bath, then you can get as much sleep you need.” she answered, walking to the side of the tub. “The only thing I need you to do is scoot up, and stay seated please.” she said. “Why are you wearing such an outfit?” he asked curiously. “Oh, it’s a swimsuit, its meant to get wet.” she answered, getting in behind the Espada.

Kia rubbed the bar of soap between her hands and started rubbing his back. She could feel each muscle, making sure to somewhat massage each one, to relieve stress. Deep yet soft noises were held in Ulquiorra’s throat. He was somewhat enjoying her company. “What are you doing to me?” he asked, a soft moan almost slipping out. “Well, I’m cleaning you silly. I’m also massaging you, it’s a form of relaxation, you’ll feel fantastic afterwards. I promise.” she said, massaging and soaping up his sides.

‘How come this feels so strange. I guess the word is nice.’ he wondered as she scrubbed his shoulders. The warm water just added to the blissful feeling. ‘He’s not that badly built. And he’s pretty good-looking.’ Kia told herself, blushing after her thoughts fully reached her. She shook her head.

“Okay Ulquiorra, time to wash your hair!” she cheered, then noticed that the Shampoo and Conditioner were a bit out of her current reach. Kia leaned forward, soon grasping both bottles in her hands. But, Ulquiorra froze as he felt her breasts push against his back. His eyes grew considerably wider and Kia just blushed softly.

Kia squeezed some Shampoo into her palm and started rubbing it into Ulquiorra’s hair, massaging his scalp softly. ‘This feels kind of nice as well.’ Ulquiorra thought, almost sighing contently. She did the same thing, but with conditioner. “There ya go, all done. I’ll go get some pyjamas for you, you just dry off ok?” she said, quickly drying her body off, not noticing Ulquiorra’s gaze completely on her.

She came back a few minutes later. “May I come in Ulquiorra?” Kia asked, knocking politely. “I wrapped the towel around my waist, you may enter.” she heard him say softly. “Okay,” she started, opening the door. “I got you some pyjamas. I thought you’d look good in green, so here you go.” Kia said, handing the cotton, plaid pants to Ulquiorra. She instinctively covered her eyes, he just let the towel drop with her there! “These don’t feel so bad.” Ulquiorra said, tying the two strands of fabric together. “If you want, I can dress your wounds.” Kia offered, blushing ever so slightly. “My wounds will heal just fine.” he said, his voice monotone.

Kia led Ulquiorra to the guest bedroom. “You can sleep here, if there’s anything you need, come get me. I’m turning in for the night.” she said, yawning and going into her room.

Ulquiorra examined the room where he would sleep. It was nothing like the ones in Las Noches. They were all white. This room was, homey, quaint. He sat down on the bed, feeling his body sinking into the soft mattress. ‘Maybe that woman can answer my question about that thing called a heart.’ he wondered, laying down and staring at the ceiling. He got up and left the room, he wanted a few answers now.

He found Kia’s room easily enough, she had a distinct reiatsu. He opened her door and saw her sitting, legs stretched out in front of her on her bed. Her torso rested against a large pillow. She had a pair of half-rimmed , rectangular reading glasses on and had a book in her hand. “Oh, Ulquiorra, is something wrong?” she asked. He noticed that she was only wearing a soft purple nighty that didn’t even reach her knees, it kind of clung to her body, showing off her charming figure.

“Why are you wearing something like that?” he asked, easily hiding his blush, his breathing was slightly faster though. “Well, I like this outfit. And, besides you, no one has seen me in this. I think it looks good. What do you think?” she asked, smiling cutely, spinning around, almost modeling for the Espada.

Kia bounced up to the pale man. “So, is there something you need?” she asked seriously. It was weird, Ulquiorra thought, this girl was almost like a mixture of the three men he served under. “There is a matter that I wish to ask you.” “Oh, and what’s that?” she asked, sitting back on her queen sized bed. She patted the spot beside her, motioning for Ulquiorra to join her, which he did.

“I have always been curious about the human heart. Many of you humans wear your emotions on your sleeves.” he explained, looking Kia dead in the eyes, emerald green meet chocolate brown. “Not all of us are like that. Some are just more emotional then others.” she said, running a brush through her long brown hair. Ulquiorra watched as her hair swept her shoulders and her back, all knots disappearing.

“Where is your heart?” he asked curiously, yet his voice still melancholic. “Its right here, kinda in the center-left of the chest.” she answered, touching Ulquiorra’s chest where a heart could be. “How do you know it is there? Can you feel it?” he asked, looking at the exact area of Kia’s chest, trying to find some indication of a heart. “At times you can. If you exert yourself enough, it will beat fast. We know its there because it helps pump blood through our bodies.” Kia explained, somewhat surprised at the Espada’s curiosity. It was a nice surprise.

“Can I…try feeling your heart beat?” he asked, a very, very slight hint of nervousness in his voice. Kia blushed darkly. ‘Is the heart making the blood flush her face?’ he wondered. “I guess…” she answered nervously. Ulquiorra raised a rock steady hand and placed it on top of her left breast, a strange noise coming from Kia. ‘She feels so soft…and warm.’ he commented to himself. He held his hand steady and soon felt a soft ba-bump. His green eyes widened. “I found it. But, its soft, yet I think its beating has grown more rapid.” he commented, he noticed that her breathing hitched.

Ulquiorra has been staying with Kia for almost a week now, slowly learning more and more about the heart and emotions. Kia didn’t mind one bit, she found it cute, his curiosity about the matters of the heart. Kia was now in the kitchen, Ulquiorra was in the living room, watching a movie on TV. He forgot its name. Kia had gotten a big bag of Shrimp Stir Fry, Ulquiorra seemed to love seafood, and very sweet fruits.

Ulquiorra could smell the shrimp sizzling in the pan, and it smelled delicious to him. The movie he was viewing dealt with a man and a woman, they kept talking about something called love. The man was going far away, to fight in a war and it was causing much grief with the two.

“There’s my plane…I’ll miss you Bernice. More then you will ever know.” the man said, a plane descending not too far from him, other men getting on board. “Oh, Johnny! Please be careful! I…I don’t know what I would do if I lost you!” Bernice cried, embracing Johnny, her head on his chest. Ulquiorra watched the movie, almost like a curious child.

“Bernice…I’ve put this off any longer. I…I love you Bernice. I always have.” Johnny admitted, wrapping his arms around the woman he had loved for so long. “I feel the same about you, Johnny my love. I just never thought you felt the same.” she sighed, her ruby red lips smiling in pure bliss. “I guess, it takes these kinds of moments for people to admit their true feelings to one another.” Johnny sighed, resting his head next Bernice’s. Ulquiorra tilted his head in confusion. ‘What kind of feelings? What’s this ‘love’ they’re talking about?’ he wondered.

“I have to go Bernice. But, before I do, please smile for me one last time.” Johnny asked, his eyes showing sadness. Bernice’s green eyes glimmered with tears, a loving smile gracing her features. The two moved closer, their lips soon locking. ‘What was that?’ Ulquiorra wondered, continuing to watch as Johnny boarded the plane, Bernice waving farewell to her lover.

“Oh Ulquiorra! Dinner’s ready!” Kia exclaimed, bringing a bowl of stir fry to her roommate. “Thank you.” he said, immediately taking a shrimp into his mouth. This one was particularly juicy. “I saw a few movies with the name Batman on their sides. Who is Batman?” he asked, eating some rice.

“He’s a very popular hero. His name is Bruce Wayne, when he was a little kid, a murderer shot and killed both his parents. He was then raised by their butler Alfred. As he grew older, he wanted to help defend and protect people from evil and pain. At first, he uses his company to help make many news things for the world. But, he soon wanted to do real good, serve and protect. So, he donned a special suit and cape, all pitch black and a mask covering almost his whole face, giving him the appearance of a Bat.” she explained.

“Why a bat?” Ulquiorra asked curiously. “His worst fear is bats, he had a bad experience as a child. So, he makes criminals feel his same fear. He’s been around since the 1960s I believe. Several movies, comic books and television shows have been made about him.” she said, eating a few vegetable from the stir fry.

“Woman, that movie I watched earlier…they spoke of something called love…what is that?” he asked, setting his empty bowl down. “Love. Hmm…that has many answers.” she said, smiling softly, picking up their bowls and placing them in the sink. “Then, tell me them all.” he demanded, catching Kia off guard.

Kia turned around to see Ulquiorra practically right against her, both arms at her sides, preventing her from moving. Kia gulped softly, she never seen Ulquiorra so demanding. “Well, there are many forms of love. One very common form is that which you feel towards people that are your friends, many times they can almost be like family. Another is the unconditional love one has for their family, you always know they can be there to help when you need it. And the third is a special love that you feel towards a person who is special to you.” she explained, a soft blush on her cheeks.

“A special love? What do you mean by that?” he asked, his interest beyond peaked. “Someone who makes you act differently then you may normally act. You may feel your heart skip a beat, or flutter in that person’s presence. Your stomach may feel queasy or as if there are countless butterflies fluttering. If you love someone, they are always on your mind, you feel the need to protect them…maybe even be with them and show them affection to show that you care for them.” she explained further, not looking Ulquiorra in the eyes.

Ulquiorra cupped her chin with one of his hands, making Kia face him. “How do humans show affection?” he asked, he was calm on the outside. But inside, he felt exactly what she was saying, his stomach felt strange around this woman, he constantly thought about her.

“Well, there are many ways to show your affection to a loved one. Mainly three though” she said, her voice almost a whisper. She was entranced by his gorgeous green eyes. “Please, tell me.” he told the woman, noticing a strange look in her eyes. “The two most common are hugs and kisses.” she answered nervously. Ulquiorra gave her a look of confusion. Kia took a deep breath and leaned forward, wrapping her arms around his neck and laying her head on his chest. “This is a hug.” she said softly, a blush still lingered on her cheeks. She felt Ulquiorra place an arm across her shoulders and the other draped around her waist, pulling her closer.

Kia felt safe in Ulquiorra’s embrace. Ulquiorra let his head rest on Kia’s, taking in her soft scent. He couldn’t place it but it was calming and pleasing. His curiosity still wasn’t satisfied. He moved his lips by her ear and whispered. “Now, show me…what is a kiss?” Kia felt her heart freeze. She pushed away slightly, feeling extremely nervous. “I will, but you have to close your eyes.” she said, fighting to hide her blush.

Ulquiorra closed his eyes almost immediately. Kia took a very deep breath and let her lips softly collide with Ulquiorra’s. The Espada’s eyes snapped open from the contact. ‘This is a kiss?! It feels so…nice.’ Ulquiorra thought, savoring the sensation of her lips on his.

A few night later, Kia was in her room, just reading. She was wearing a soft blue nighty, almost exactly the same as her purple one except this had some lace one the hem and across the chest and it was silk. Her long, somewhat damp brown hair was loose. She just got out of the bath, a nice hot bath. Ulquiorra hadn’t been talking to her much, which she was concerned about. ‘Maybe I’ve satisfied his curiosities.’ she thought, feeling unusually depressed. ‘I guess, I’ve come to the man.’ she told herself.

There was a knock at her door. “Come in.” she said, not looking up from her book. She felt her visitor sit beside her on her bed. “Good evening, Ulquiorra.” she greeted, trying to ignore the feeling of butterflies in her belly. “Good evening, Kia.” her eyes widened slightly. And a blush made itself visible as he placed an arm around her shoulders, making her move closer to his body. “Is something wrong Kia?” he asked, laying his head on hers. “You said my name…just some shock is all.” she answered, trying to remain calm.

“So…how’ve you been? Feels like you’ve been dodging me lately.” Kia asked, trying to make some sort of conversation. “I have been…thinking.” he said plainly. “h, what about? If you don’t mind me asking.” Everything you told me a few days ago. About love. I think…I am feeling it.” he told her, staring at her wall. “Really? That’s great Ulquiorra! Who’s making you feel it?” she asked curiously. Ulquiorra finally looked at her. And Kia knew there was a smile on his face. “Close your eyes.” he commanded softly, Kia following the simple demand.

She then felt Ulquiorra’s soft lips claim hers. ‘I’m the one?’ she wondered then let out a squeak of surprise. Ulquiorra was now on top of her, deepening the kiss. He used one arm to support himself while his free hand cradled her head. Kia felt her blush darken as she felt his tongue gently traced her lower lip. A soft, maybe pleasurable sound reached Ulquiorra’s ears.

He pulled away slightly, their lips only an inch from each other. “Are you enjoying this Kia?” he asked. All he got from her was a nod and he moved in once again. ‘Kisses…they are…addictive.’ he told himself, sneaking his tongue into her mouth and playing with hers softly. ‘Is this love?’ he wondered as he heard a soft moan come from Kia. Something told him this was a good thing, that she really was enjoying what he was doing.

He had been watching a movie he found, Casanova. What Ulquiorra noticed was that women loved when you would caress them, or that’s what they made it seem like. He moved his arm to her hips, rubbing them softly. His action caused another moan to escape from Kia. He noticed another weak spot on a body and wanted to try his luck again. Ulquiorra placed feather soft kisses down to her chin, then to the nape of her neck, more moans came from Kia.

More unbearably soft kisses led a trail up to her ear. “You said there were three ways for one to show affection. Tell me the last one Kia.” he demanded sweetly, nipping her ear softly. “Ahh! Its when the two decide to become one.” she moaned as Ulquiorra continued his teasing, now softly massaging her inner thigh. His lips now hovered mere centimeters from Kia’s. “I wish to become one with you, Kia Aizen.” he whispered, then kissed her passionately.

Kia awoke the next morning feeling somewhat uncomfortable, but great at the same time. She saw Ulquiorra resting his head on her chest, he fell asleep to the rhythmic sounds of her heartbeat. Kia smiled softly, recalling last night’s events. ’I lost my virginity to an Espada! How incredible!’ she cheered in her mind. She couldn’t really believe how it all turned out. She saved him only two weeks ago. Who would have thought the one Espada she saved happened to be so curious!?

She could hear Ulquiorra begin waking up, he held sat up, rubbing sleep from his eyes. “Morning Ulquiorra.” Kia grinned, kissing her lover’s neck softly, eliciting a soft moan from the man. “Good morning Kia.” he said, facing his love. Kia embraced Ulquiorra, laying her head on his chest. “Are you okay, Kia?” he asked, placing a hand on her head, playing with a few strands of hair. “A bit sore, but it was worth it.” she answered, nuzzling his chest.

“I have something I wanna tell you.” Kia whispered, looking up at the man. “And what would that be?” he asked, holding her close. A smile spread across Kia’s face. She leaned in close, her lips near his unmasked ear. “I love you, Ulquiorra Schiffer.” she whispered sweetly. Ulquiorra’s green eyes grew wide after her confession. “…I…love you as well, Kia Aizen.”
