This story is really interesting. My only complaint is the chapters are so short, but it is a good story. I wish you had written more. I really want to know what happens next and you should not be so hard on yourself. I don't see a need for a beta. Perhaps you just need more inspiration. I know in my stories I get writer's block so it is hard for me to continue. I am working on seven different stories now. Someday I hope you come back to this and write more since I would love to see this finished.

Befriending spellcheck or finding a beta would help immensely.
If you don't use Microsoft Word or something (ie, if you just type it into the text box when you upload a chapter) it might be a good idea to download Mozilla Firefox- it has a built in spell-checker. Unfortunately, that isn't going to help with you grammar.
