Taken

Almost three months had passed since that night; her prison had been extremely active. There were dozens of new Arrancar about; none paid her much attention, either because they feared Grimmjow or because she no longer carried herself as their enemy.

Rukia had hated to even be in the same room with the Espada at first, her skin crawled every time he touched her. But slowly that hate turned to indifference, turned to acceptance, turned to appreciation. She spent much of her time alone still, left to her thoughts and daydreams.

She spent much of her time wondering what was so important that the man always had to leave during the day, why he chose to do…whatever he did instead of spending time with her. She had grown attached to him; there was little choice of course. He was the only one she ever saw, ever spoke to, ever touched. Sure he brought her out into the massive fortress, but he was ruthlessly protective...and few dared approach either of them.

Today was exceptionally boring, Grimmjow had been gone a day already and she had been commanded to remain in the room until he returned. She gazed casually out of the window into the shallow daylight; Las Noches was unmoving as usual. She couldn’t help but gaze at the chest at the end of the bed, couldn’t help but yearn for the brief activity the contents would allow. Maybe…just a little…

~~~
Grimmjow stumbled through the Garganta falling to his knees struggling for breath, “Piece of shit…interfering in my battle.”
He was bloodied, one arm hung limply completely useless, he couldn’t see from one eye because of the blood pouring from a gash somewhere on his head.
“Bastards…” he muttered lowly as his breathing began normalizing.
“You were only meant to distract Grimmjow”
“Fuck you Ulquiorra…” his voice filled with malice, a true hatred for the fourth evident.
The human flinched as Grimmjow spoke, she was weak, hardly worth taking as far as he was concerned. Just another reason to hate that bastard Aizen, he doubted that hack of a doctor could fix his arm.
“Aizen will be awaiting our report…come Grimmjow.”
He watched furiously as the fourth moved away, the woman following at his heel obediently. Which reminded him of his own pet, he would take some of his frustration out on her later.
~~~

Aizen gazed down at the three, comfortably seated on his thrown, that lie of a smile ever present on his face.

“You disregarded my orders Grimmjow?” he asked nonchalantly.

“The woman is here…”

“I suppose…It seems that you have become more useful then I guessed…”

Grimmjow looked up at the man at that comment wondering what he actually meant. It couldn’t be that he was just forgiving him.

“Orihime…” his voice was calm, relaxed, almost as if in a daze, “Demonstrate please.”

It was an order masked as a request; not following it would result in a show of force. But it seemed the girl did not need such goading, and was soon at his side. Grimmjow looked down at her warily wondering just what she would be demonstrating. The warm glow that soon encompassed him was incredible, not only did the annoyance of pain vanish almost instantly, but all of his wounds seemed to evaporate. The feeling in his arm slowly returned, and within a minute full movement had been restored.

“Good. Grimmjow, I believe your pet was involved with this woman?”

Grimmjow gave only a slight nod, he was far to busy marveling at the repairs she had done to him.

“Then you are charged with Orihime’s care, Be sure she remains in good health…I require her abilities.”

Grimmjow had no sooner gotten his orders before he was shuffling the girl out of the room, whispered curses spoken under his breath.

The girl followed him obediently…far too easy if you were ask him, there was nothing interesting about a captive who started off broken. Grimmjow threw the door open, Rukai sat on the edge of the bed obediently, obviously expecting some affection. Grimmjow sighed and spun the human girl into the room by her wrist. He rather enjoyed the brief confusion as the two realized who each was, but abruptly left when the two burst into tears and embraced each other.

~~~
Rukia had felt his return and had immediately taken her spot on the edge of the bed, she no longer undressed for he rather enjoyed doing the undressing himself. To be honest she enjoyed it as well, it slowed him down, kept his animal instincts suppressed until later. She was giddy, she wanted some interaction…and although he would surely punish her for saying so he was rather clingy after bedding her…she guessed he couldn’t help it…being feline in nature and all.
But just by her first glimpse of him she knew there would be no interaction between them tonight. What she didn’t glean from that look was who came stumbling through the door next.
“wha…what are you doing here?” she asked quietly a look of pure confusion across her face.
She never got that answer, instead her friend burst into tears and ran into her arms. She found that she was unable to withhold her own tears at seeing a remnant of her old life. It took them some time to regain their composure, every time one would begin stopping the other would resume and drag the other into another fit of tears. By the time they both ran dry Grimmjow was long gone, it seemed he wanted no part in such an…emotional reunion.
The two spoke in turn Orihime went first, saying that Grimmjow and another Espada had come to Karakura town. She had found that Grimmjow was meant as a distraction while Ulquiorra kidnapped her. She also informed Rukia that Soul Society had given her up for dead, Ichigo wasn’t so easily swayed, but wasn’t able to get through the barrier sealing Hueco Mundo.
“A barrier?” Rukia asked, the news obviously new to her.
Orihime said that they had been trying for well over two months to get in to mount a rescue, but had made basically no progress. Rukia took this story rather well, in the end she hadn’t been treated to badly here. In fact the last few months had been pleasant besides the lonely days, and the occasional day Grimmjow ended up in a bad mood.
Rukia’s tale was taken harshly on the other hand, Orihime was barely able to keep from wailing as she heard it. But Rukia assured her that it really wasn’t as bad as it sounded…and that their keeper was rather caring, in his own insane kind of way.
The two friends eventually settled into old conversations, both silently agreeing to keep conversation from current events. They even found themselves drawing together, Grimmjow would likely puke in his mouth at finding the cutesy doodles they each did. But for now Rukia had forgotten her place, and really didn’t care to think of it…for now she was back home.
~~~

Grimmjow tapped his foot anxiously outside his own room, hoping the muffled crying would stop quickly. It of course didn’t and he was left outside, forced out by his own prisoners. He may have been a bloodthirsty warrior, living battle to battle…but he wasn’t dense. From the initial reaction he saw the two were friends, and despite the annoyance of the second one he thought it would be better to leave them be for a while…if only to get all that annoying crying out of them.

Grimmjow slipped in the room late that night, the women were sleeping in the bed…he couldn’t help but notice the training his pet had received was already forgotten. He undressed like a child, cursing as he threw his jacket across the room angrily. He didn’t notice that his curses were nearly silent…Big bad Grimmjow forced to silence for fear of a wailing human should he wake her.

~~~
Rukia awoke to a gentle ray of light crossing her eyes, she squinted into it for a few moments as her eyes focused. She gazed at her friend both happy and sad that her capture wasn’t a dream. She sat up lazily rubbing one eye, she gazed about the room eventually doing a double take at the lounge area across the room. It seemed there was a lot to smile about today as well, for in a messy bundle of pillows and blankets lie her master. It seemed he cared more then she thought, and maybe…it was a good thing, for both of them.
Grimmjow slept most of the day, while Orihime had healed his external wounds he obviously needed some rest to regain energy after what sounded like a rather intense battle. Orihime spent her day far away from the sleeping Arrancar, Rukia didn’t care either way…the man could sleep through a war if he wanted to.
Aizen had sent a dress, with the simple command that Orihime dress more to her current surroundings. Ulquiorra had arrived later in the day and had taken her for a little over a hour, Orihime spoke little of her trip…only that Aizen had spoken to her, outlining her place there.
Grimmjow awoke around dinner time, Rukia had gotten quite the laugh at Orihimes reaction to the Arrancar as he made his usual zombie like walk into the washroom, he always slept nude. The three of them ate together, Grimmjow had an abnormally annoyed scowl on his face as they did so, and quickly left the room after he finished.
The rest of that week went on rather methodically, Grimmjow slept most of the day only to leave after eating, Rukia spent her time entertaining Orihime who needed any distraction to keep her mind from her situation. She was called away at least once a day, but with the distance she had to go and the time she was gone, she was having little more then a conversation before returning…and showed no signs of any harm.
Rukia couldn’t help but look at her captor with a new found respect, he had dragged a bed from somewhere in one night after dinner. Rukia and Orihime were given his old bed…which was much larger and more comfortable. He also spent much less time in the room, only sleeping and eating one or two meals there a day…they had been given the room as well it seemed.
The fifth day of Orihimes capture Rukia stopped the Espada at the door before he could leave for the night.
“Grimmjow…” she called grasping the bottom of his jacket
“hmmm?” he asked turning to her with a uncaring gaze.
“I just wanted to…” she bit her lip unable to say it as easily as she expected, he was her captor after all. She bowed lightly placing her hands lightly on her thighs as she did so, “I wanted to tha…”
“Shut up woman…” he said shooing her as he strode away from the room, hands already comfortably in their pockets.
The door closed gently, Rukia nodded lightly…it wasn’t exactly a “your welcome” but for him…it was about as good as it would get.
