Inevitable
Neither girl had slept as well as they were sleeping in some time, Rukia slept purely because she was tired. Orihime slept because her future did not seem quite as scary as it had that morning. As far as she could tell Rukia had done little more then enjoy herself since she had arrived, of course she hadn’t been told much about Rukia’s first encounter with Grimmjow. Nor had she thought to ask about the mark the girl had received, or the piercings that adorned her body. But she was in fact going to learn that morning. Her first lesson was just how much control Grimmjow actually had over her, conscious or not. She slowly opened her eyes to the gentle sway of the mans body as he walked, she was currently bound and gagged, and he was carrying her casually over one shoulder. She didn’t resist, she knew it would be useless…she was left at his will whether she liked it or not. “Your obedience is good…it will make things here easier for you, but it’s boring woman.” He said in a bored voice. A few moments later they entered a room, she was immersed by a rush of cool air. Her body shivered lightly, the new room was very cold indeed. Her master set her on something of a chair, the cool steel caused her to yelp into her gag quietly. She could see several restraints upon it, from what she could see they were meant for the wrists, ankles, waist, neck and another for the top of the head to hold it in place. She pulled her knees to her chest for warmth, but mostly to cover her breasts. “Find something good, whatever it is that keeps you going…and focus on it…” he spoke sullenly, a look of real distaste plastered to his face. With that Grimmjow vanished through one of the doors in the room. Orihime took the chance to look around, she found that besides her seat there was little to look at. The only other thing in the room was a metal table across from her, it was covered with a thin white cloth…but the odd shapes beneath had her imagination afire. She was startled by a sudden grinding of gears from above, she looked up to see four orbs fall out of them, each attached to a long metal arm with several dozen pivot points. Each one twitched lightly as the front opened revealing a glassy interior. They each made a small buzzing noise before a thin green light beamed out across her body, she watched fearfully as they spun around her getting dozens of angles on each part of her body. “Put yourself in the binding.” Chirped an unseen microphone, causing Orihime to jump and nearly fall from the table. “Quickly, quickly.” The voice was new, she hadn’t been involved with whoever was at the microphone. She did as she was told, slowly slipping herself into each of the loose straps until she was in place. She machine she was placed in ticked and all the straps tightened. The next half hour consisted of very little, only small bursts of sound from either one of the orbs still floating around her, the metal panels above her, or the machine she was actually strapped to. The machine began vibrating lightly and lilted upward until she was able to see the wall in front of her. The table spilt vertically between her legs and moved outward until they were open. The movement and sounds stopped momentarily then resumed, this time her arms were moved outward until they were perpendicular to her body. Finally she felt the table open up behind her, soon the backs of her legs, her rear, and most of her back was also exposed. Again she was left in silence, which was more agonizing then anything else she had experienced since she was taken. The fact that she was shivering uncontrollably didn’t help either, the room was still cold, and the metal did not seem to absorb any of the heat her body put off.
~~~ On the other side of a two way mirror sat the Arrancar doctor, a highly annoyed Grimmjow and an ever smirking Aizen. “We will begin shortly, Aizen sama.” “Very good.” Replied Aizen Grimmjow sat in silence, he had known of Aizen’s plans for the girl for nearly her entire stay in Hueco Mundo. The doctor had been working on his “Machine” for months and claimed it would be very effective in coaxing all of the information Aizen wanted. The doctor was swooning at the moment, bursting with pride at Aizens apparently happiness. Grimmjow was unphased, he knew all to well that his smile was only for show…he would likely kill the doctor on the spot if even the smallest hiccup occurred. He was not lucky enough to be able to hide his emotion when it came to this. Sure he was all for breaking the girl and having a nice toy like the little one…but real torture was not his thing. Blood sure, Biting and some pain not problem, but real pain? No he was not that person…even if he did make himself out to be. “Grimmjow…you seem unpleased?” Aizen asked in what to a normal person would be a concerned tone, “I gave her to you because of all the Espada you seem to enjoy the company of weaklings…” Grimmjow scowled, the bastard “loved” to pester him in this way, “She’s just a woman…” he said uncaringly, bringing an end to the conversation. He knew the only way to end his “masters” game was to become uncaring…of course that only confirmed his feelings to the man…and in turn gave him the victory over his underling. “With you permission master?” the doctor asked seemingly done fiddling with his masterpiece. “Proceed” Aizen replied disregarding the Espada ~~~ Orihime was shaking uncontrollably by the time the low hum began above her, she wanted nothing more then to see what was happening but in her current position it was impossible. More metal arms came from the ceiling and floor soon after though, and these were not cameras. She struggled in her bindings at the horrific tools now surrounding her, even gagged her screams were extremely loud as the various machines began their work. Grimmjow was already some distance away before it started, cursing Aizen under his breath as he made his way back to the room. He would pay before his time was over…he promised himself that. He had gotten back to the room…now he would have to deal with the squirt. ~~~ Rukia had been confused when she awoke alone. That confusion turned to worry after an hour, it was around then that Grimmjow returned…without Orihime. “You were up early…master.” She commented without making eye contact. His response was little more then a growl before he plopped down in his regular seat facing one of two windows in the room. Rukia could see the annoyance on his face and because of it kept to herself for the time being. If there was anything she had learned about the man in her months there, he would tell her eventually…he couldn’t help but speak his mind. An hour and a half passed without a word, he spent the entire time in silence. The quiet bounce of his knee was their conversation…and it spoke clearly. He stood up suddenly and moved off toward the door. He stopped before it and just…stared at the wood. She noted his foot lightly taping as he waited, something really was getting to him. “Grimm…jow?” she moved a few feet behind him. He turned suddenly and took hold of her neck. She expected a punishment, a hit, maybe even rough choking. Instead she felt the steel necklace binding her rietsu being pulled off, only to be replaced by another…this one did nothing. “Woman, you be quiet the entire time…you stay as you have been…obedient.” Grimmjow’s words were strong, commanding. Rukia nodded in agreement, she was completely lost. The walk was long and the halls were completely empty, Grimmjow was walking very quickly. She had so many questions, thoughts, fears about what was happening. Yet she remained quiet as she was told, and did her best to keep up with the man. They eventually made a single turn and began descending down circular stairs, she knew instantly where they were going…she had made a similar trip. They reached the bottom and Grimmjow turned to her. “The second we get in…you grab her and hold on to her.” He spoke calmly…for the first time she noted the taint of fear in his voice. He turned suddenly and in the blink of an eye changed. The memory of the night he saved her flashed through her mind, he was an animal again. His power was overwhelming, she could hardly concentrate on anything but staying upright. The next few moments happened in a blur, so much so fast that it really wouldn’t all set in for days. Grimmjow tore the door to pieces and charged in, he destroyed much of the room before Rukia could actually will her legs to bring her inside. She found that the machinery he had destroyed had been…torturing Orihime. The girl was slumped down one hand was still bound leaving her limply hanging against the shattered remnants of her tormentors devices. Rukia did what she had been told completely ignoring the carnage going on around her, and with a quick blast of kidou had Orihime free. Almost the second the girl was in her arms she felt herself being lifted up and moved. The feeling of movement through Sonido was not much different then Shunpo, but he moved much faster then she could ever imagine going herself. They were more or less thrown to the sand after getting wherever he had brought them to. She turned in a rage, Orihime should not even be moving let alone being dropped in the sand and wind of the desert. “You bast…” she began to yell. She stopped mid sentence when she saw him though. No more then 30 seconds could have passed since he stormed into the room, and he was already completely doused in blood. “I’m disappointed Grimmjow…” The blade pierced through the Espada’s chest spattering blood onto her face, Aizen. Grimmjow roared in pain and spun to attack, he hit only air. A second blade darted past her shoulder as it sliced through one of his legs, another spray of blood staining her kimono. Rukia turned to see Gin smiling like a schoolboy a short distance off. Suddenly it all set in for her…he was trying to save them from a greater tormenter the he. Aizen zipped in slashing him across the chest, easily dodging Grimmjow weakened attack. Off balance he was unable to move a second attack from gin at his back, he fell to one knee. Rukia was impressed, she couldn’t believe he was still conscious let alone alive with how much blood he had likely lost and how much was spilling into the sand already. Aizen was standing casually above the beaten Arrancar now, looking down with that phony smile. Rukia looked away expecting a deathblow, she could only think of her and Inoues future now that Grimmjow wouldn’t be their master. There was a brief scream of pain, but it was quickly cut off. Rukia opened her eyes and momentarily saw what seemed like a living skeleton, before him were what seemed to be the remains of Gin. She was then pulled under one of Grimmjow’s arms and whisked away, his speed astounding after all the damage he had taken. The sounds of battle behind them were relatively short, but as far as she could tell they were not yet being pursued. Grimmjow did not last very long, and was quickly on his hands and knees gasping for breath. Rukia ignored him for now and struggled to keep Orihime awake, how was this going to work when two of the three could hardly walk. “Can you call…the Shinigami from…the human world?” he said gasping as he fell onto his back. Rukia nodded lightly, amazed he would even think of doing that. A second later and a exhausted snap of his fingers had a Garganta open. Rukia gazed through it then to Orihime and finally to Grimmjow who had likely run out of power because he was now back to his original form. “A…are you coming?” she asked warily. Grimmjow actually laughed, she understood why…but she had meant it. He may be spared due to what he was doing, especially being that given this opportunity they may be able to defeat Aizen before he ever has a chance to put his own plans into motion. But if he stayed here he would die long before there was even a chance for that. “Grimmjow…I can’t carry her alone…” she said in her most convincing tone.
She was lying of course, but she hoped that it would get him to go through. Grimmjow groaned and managed to get up. “Fuck…I have to do…everything…woman.” He took a moment to catch his breath again, “since when were Shinigami so useless.” Rukia smirked, for a raving psychopath near death in the middle of betraying his own creator…he was pretty funny when you got to know him. What Rukia hadn’t expected was for him to end up carrying both of them, Orihime under one arm and she draped over his opposite shoulder. Even in his condition and her power being unsealed she was unable to wiggle out of his grasp, at least he was carrying her so she could see where they were going for once. “Did…you get…fat.” Grimmjow suddenly asked as they neared the exit. “I don’t remember…you being so heavy….” Rukia would have slapped him if he wasn’t so pale. On the other side he sighed with relief, she wasn’t sure why. “Start doing something wom…” Grimmjow jerked backward suddenly, Rukia flinched at what had appeared. She gazed at the mask in horror, it seemed like a hollow…but it was too human in shape. Gazing down at the blade impaling Grimmjow her horror grew…it was Ichigo’s sword. Grimmjow slumped forward against his attacker both girls falling from his grasp. “I guess…you owed me…that.” He said lowly obviously in great strain. Rukia was conflicted, she was finally free…and was amongst allies. But she couldn’t hide her feelings toward Grimmjow. Yes he had done horrible things to both her and Ichigo, even indirectly to Inoue…but in the last few months…he had done a good deal for her. Now he had freed her, and at this rate would die doing so. Grimmjow fell to the ground unmoving, Rukia started to rush to him, try and keep him awake until someone got there to heal him. But she was intercepted by Ichigo, his mask was gone and he was hugging her tightly. “Rukia…are you okay?” he asked his eyes fearfully darting between Rukia and Inoue. “I have to call Soul Society.” She responded coldly. She would later regret her coldness toward him, but to her he had just killed her savior. “We may have a chance still.” Rukia’s call was in the end irrelevant, by the time captain Kurotsuchi arrived the shell prevent them from getting in was reinforced. Captain Unohana dealt with the injured Orihime, managing to heal her well enough so that girl could then heal herself. The final arrivals were commander Yamamoto and her older brother. Her older brother quickly commanded her to return to Seireitei, she could see the anger in his eyes at the mark now adorned to her cheek. She gazed over her shoulder at the crowed now surely debating what was to be done with the fallen Espada, she wondered if he was
